Thanks also rescued this nice cabinet and some other things. No idea what to do with the chicken feeder... take up chicken ranching?!?  Maybe nail it to a post for a bird feeder? Cost an arm and a leg to fill it these days the price of bird seed.

Today’s trash pick score:

20 ten pound weights…

Got them before the scrappers did!!!

:banana-linedance:

May need to break down and add some weight to the plow tractors given the exorbitant cost of these…

Please direct those clouds toward the East!

Nice find... hint: Don't go outdoors when it's raining storage cabinets !

Oh boy, this looks like a thread for me. I’m the king of bringing unwanted junk home😅A1E79061-3522-4A30-A321-F288480DA108.jpeg.966df0cb7c14adb48a99a119be240353.jpeg

We got my 79 homelite super xl, which I just so happened to see poking out of a trash can.A58A35C8-F516-432C-89B2-075F5EC08130.jpeg.15e8def2b588e241ad2ded02bd0625f2.jpeg

My 60s-70s Tecumseh-Eskimo ice auger, which was another roadside find.

Ive also found a 70s craftsman “home tool storage” toolbox still filled with tools seconds away from the cruncher. Needless to say that’s in my garage now too. I’ll have to get pictures next time I’m outside😅

We live in the #1 throw away state.  I am even picky with what brand lawn equipment to pickup.  It's going to interesting with all these greenies buying all the battery equipment and tossing out the gas stuff

:text-yeahthat:

Along with the batteries in a year or two after they don’t maintain them properly and toss them… :snooty:

And no I’m not anti-battery. Going on second season with Dewalt’s 20 volt line - lawn mower, weed whip, chain saw, hedge trimmer… batteries fit all my power tools. Excellent stuff. But they are not “green”… plastic, toxic innards, electricity used to charge them and 95% will end up in the landfill at end of life… not to mention the point you make… millions of gas powered mowers etc. going into landfills or for scrap… not “green”… :(

Ok. Off :angry-soapbox:

Not to go off topic I haven't used a gas weed Wacker at my place in I guess 5 or 6 years now.  Best thing ever, 5.5 acres.  Battery in and pull the trigger.  I junked/got rid of my gas ones.

Heres the freebie toolbox as well. It was next in line for the crusher. Still had goodies inside as well. 🤯

@jabelman I picked up a 40v ryobi weedwacker and I haven’t touched my gas one since.

seems like gas weedwackers are the most temperamental engines out there

I know what you mean, my 44 year old Homelite ST-80 string trimmer needs a new spark plug every 15 years.

I was gonna mention my Homelite too... and I believe it may be the same model as yours, and just as old!

When I can't get the Stihl started I grab the Homelite... one or two pulls and off she goes.

I can’t imagine who in the right mind would toss such a thing. It’s sturdier than the new vices!

I was gifted a Wilton a couple decades ago by a friend who was moving out... lemmee tell ya, they  ain't cheap!  I priced mine at $700 !  Mine's got 4 bolt holes in the base and the swivel base, but otherwise looks the same as yours.

Awesome find!
