The BBT popped the chain off and de-twisteded it.

Good eyes folks!

Idea! :banana-linedance:

You should blindfold BBT, give her a wrench or paint or a hammer or duct tape, anything really… wipe off the dust on it and put her under Colossus… you remember Colossus?… and then tell her she’s working one of her tractors… step back and take pics… and she’ll have it finished before @Pullstart gets hurt again, or finds his keys, or… buys another Senior… :scared-eek:

Another one popped up semi-locally, but it’s too rich for my blood this week.  Maybe if I quit doing stuff around the house for us, and pull a little more income! :ROTF:

Thank you Sir.

If you zoom in on this picture

IMG_20220115_203353.jpg.29eaeccf19d11a4129c4b3219d0b93ad.jpg

You'll see what appears to be an excess of zip ties holding things together.

Some previous owner decided to cut or possibly pinch off one of the alternator wires and also the kill wire for the magneto.

The kill wire I was able to shorten up and put a plug on which disconnects at that point and runs up to the ignition switch. The alternator wire I didn't want to mess up too badly... I had JUST enough wire to install a crimp connection with shrink tubing.

Each of those has their own set of zip ties. Both alternator and one kill wire are all bundled, plugged in, and zip tied end to end so they won't come undone. Then there's everything holding the battery cables up out of the way and the other harness wires...

It's kind of meticulous but I really don't want things coming undone in the middle of work.

You think? haha:ychain:

I once fixed a broken spring on a car with zip ties. They hold for 4 years haha

I've been getting mine from the $1 store lately. (Or, should I say the Treasurer gets them for me?)  Good size bag for a buck, not bad.  Not sure how they'll hold up but I'm gonna find out!

I really like the convenience and ease of using then to hold something -and- the ability to snip them right off just as fast.

I find that the USA made ones last several years. Imports, not so much.

UV exposure can be a problem for them also,  most that I've used outdoors crumble to pieces in about 2 years or so.  USA made ones too.  I think you can get them rated for UV exposure though.

Yessir that's correct.

I just ordered another few bags and I did get uv rated ones.   I find those last 4 or 5 years+.

I got an ignition switch from @76c12091520h Brian Badman.

Because it's a change from OE and my custom wiring harness I modified the schematic diagram BBT had printed out for us the other day.

IMG_20220120_204316.jpg.e14cd4f68ef17b0147d5d2691242ac45.jpg

Finished up the wire installation using a 5 prong replacement holder @953 nut had mentioned awhile back.

IMG_20220120_200400227_HDR.jpg.ac28e2d2e1bebac9d50a560cbbf38f78.jpg

One of the ingenious PO modifications was to drill the original switch hole way too big instead of finding the correct switch.

I found a couple thin washers and drilled them out a bit so they would hold the new switch snugly.

IMG_20220120_194044054_HDR.jpg.b956d028dfdb8fbd0274721816ebf1a2.jpg

New switch is set right in nice and happy with a keychain from @wheelhorseman Lowell at Wheelhorse Parts and More.

Last known thing to do is make up a wiring harness for some nice LED lights and mount those in pre-existing holes.

Got the headlamps mounted and wired to a plug behind the hood.

Been experimenting with attachment of very small wires today because I'm adding some frame hole mounted LED lights. Green 🟢 round 3/4" diameter.
