What about hole sizes and text sizes?

Any chance you got a scale factor hidden somewhere between your cad model, the slicer, and the printer?

The holes, size, and edges all  line up with the dash I modeled from.

I do all adjustments, scaling etc. In the cad program and leave all others 100 percent or 1:1.

You are indeed correct that rounding errors can creep in from each time something is scaled or adjusted(usually around the nearest 1 hundredth or so). That's why I like to do all adjustments in the original cad model. If I need to double the size for one print or something like that I'll do it in the slicer, but all my master cad files are where I create and make all permanent adjustments.

New GT14 dash printing! I checked the new dash sent to me and I believe it may have been beginning to shrink. It's about 5mm short side to side, and if you align the holes on one side, the ones on the opposite side are crowded. Maybe a tension builds up and then once released they snap inward like a rubber band?

The shrinkage seems in direct relation to the length in each axis.(the ratio of length to height is identical to the ratio of the amount short on each side!) Looking at the existing holes in this example dash tension has been pulling against the outside edges of the holes. The console plate showed similar shrinkage ratios.

So very close! One corner was a little too tight, and the finish wasn't where I like it, so I trimmed a tiny bit and made a couple setting adjustments, and were printing again!

Text is printing on hopefully final version if GT14 dash..have new pic here in a bit!

D dash is next! Re-engineered with a purposeful split in the middle to alleviate the splitting issue. Two additional mount holes in either side as shown in the layout. A custom lamp washer that gives a clean look, captures both halves, and allows the lamp to not have to go through an additional thickness. New cutout design for gauge holes that leave top surface completely smooth, but allows you to go in from the back and cut easily through and equip whichever gauge holes you need!

Ok were gonna have to try a different filament with the GT14 dash. A severe heat test on my south facing deck easily flattened out the dash "fold" and started to warp the plates. The description is still up in the vendor section,  but the listing has been paused in the shop.

New filament in! New GT14 dash printing!

If this filament doesnt do it, well be looking at something really exotic like nylon or carbon fiber

Items done to go on Apple. Getting after what I can this next week to take to the show. Keychains, a cookie cutter or 2, gonna try to have some lenses , and I'll have sample only versions of the GT14 and D dash plates. I Just dont think the exotic filament I ordered will be in. ABS is being a bear to cope with the warping over those large surface areas. I did order in some white during the day and glows red in the dark filament which should be in just in time to print a few keychains with.

In other news... our new, faster, and 4 color machine should be here the 19th.

Been debating if we should take it to the show.

Torn between a mobile cart set up so we can roam around a bit, or stationary(just hate missing so much!)

I’m building a lowered 300 series wheelhorse. So far it’s a combination of 3 scrap tractors.
the frame, trans and tins are from a GT2500 anniversary special given to me by a neighbor with a trashed Briggs. The Kohler M12 is from a junkyard 312 that was roached. The parts tractor I’m using for the build was another older 312. I’ve got the k301 in the garage. The trans was toast. Both axles wallowed out keyways and 1 axle actually broken.
Anyway! I needed a project and a toy to putt around the neighborhood. I couldn’t find any other posts on how to do the whole thing. I’m trying to keep it cheap using stuff I have on hand and looking as “stock but cooler” as possible. So here we go.
I’ll update this as I go along.
