Ok now for more color discussion...tried another brand of red(the one on the right)

And Im still not pleased. Out of these I do like the bright red in the center the best, but out there somewhere has to be an adequate red!

Then today I cracked open a lovely looking bottle of red paint....while it is a very nice dark red..its way too dark!

Now Ive been an electronic tech in some form or another for 30 years, and one requirement is you can tell one color from another, so Im pretty sure im not color blind! But...what do yall think??????

I tend to favor the brighter reds so I'd agree the center one is my preference.

I agree with Eric and you, the one in the center is the better of them all.

On my phone and tablet I thought the one on the left looked best but on the desktop the center, yes.  I guess the color rendition is a bit off on one or the other!

My hand just not as steady as it used to be!  Need a smaller brush to touch up some of the 'jagged' paint lines.  I think I might put this on a 'turntable' and paint a thin red pinstripe between the black border and the silver background.

Not sure why I can't get an 'even' finish on the metallic silver.

Might just go with the unpainted one on the right though... maybe a coat of clear satin... haven't decided, will try both and see what I like best.

Why does a camera show up the DUST so much more than real life?  I can't even SEE the white specs on the black one!

Lookin good there @Jeff-C175 ! My silver goes on the smoothest of all my colors and seems to spread further if that makes sense. And it doesnt matter how much you try to get it perfect ..YOU will always see the faults while everyone else just sees beautiful! Lol i deal with the same thing...at some point i just gitta call it good ir ill do it more harm than good! Lol

I’m building a lowered 300 series wheelhorse. So far it’s a combination of 3 scrap tractors.
the frame, trans and tins are from a GT2500 anniversary special given to me by a neighbor with a trashed Briggs. The Kohler M12 is from a junkyard 312 that was roached. The parts tractor I’m using for the build was another older 312. I’ve got the k301 in the garage. The trans was toast. Both axles wallowed out keyways and 1 axle actually broken.
Anyway! I needed a project and a toy to putt around the neighborhood. I couldn’t find any other posts on how to do the whole thing. I’m trying to keep it cheap using stuff I have on hand and looking as “stock but cooler” as possible. So here we go.
I’ll update this as I go along.
