One of the 1.6 inch ones, might fit. Is that cover clear? Kinda looks it.

1.6 would be about a quarter inch too small I think.  No, it's black.  Looks clear I guess because of the reflection of the shop light.

I looked at it close and I'm sure it does pop out.  I'll give it a push with a flat blade and see what happens.  I know how NOT to break things... but I am good at doing the opposite too!

Great thing is, with 3d print we can make it whatever size, shape we want!

Think about using the metal ones?

Maybe printing a 'pocket' for the zip tie head to fit into?

If could find a suitable thin metal solution that didnt have the hose clamp type screw id try those. Heres a different style with the hand painted ties.

If i did a pocket, id need to actually imbed it between the handle halves. If i just did a side square its hard to torque the tie down  firmly.

The square head likes to be at a 45 rather than 90 if that makes sense.

Here's what is currently on the bench Any other color combinations of any of those, like silver wheel, with black ring and silver hubcap?

Panduit makes thin metal zip ties and the head is smaller than the plastic ones.  Also it goes straight in, no 90* bend.  But boy are they X spendive!!

The generic metal ones on Amazon are WAY WAY cheaper!

Zip ties can also be had in a wide variety of colors.

What do yall think of the hubcap done this way?

Ring of hub is shiny on this one, i painted over the silver there, normally it would be as dull as the rest of the plastic.

I was just using what i have available lol. I even have the wider heavy duty ties that look good, size wise but the head of those is rather large.

Ideally, id like an option that the end user can install simply on their own jar, (jars are heavy and breakable! More expensive to ship, and possible breakage in shipment)

I’m building a lowered 300 series wheelhorse. So far it’s a combination of 3 scrap tractors.
the frame, trans and tins are from a GT2500 anniversary special given to me by a neighbor with a trashed Briggs. The Kohler M12 is from a junkyard 312 that was roached. The parts tractor I’m using for the build was another older 312. I’ve got the k301 in the garage. The trans was toast. Both axles wallowed out keyways and 1 axle actually broken.
Anyway! I needed a project and a toy to putt around the neighborhood. I couldn’t find any other posts on how to do the whole thing. I’m trying to keep it cheap using stuff I have on hand and looking as “stock but cooler” as possible. So here we go.
I’ll update this as I go along.
