It relates to one of my other interests, but I don’t want to make my hints as cut and dry as I have in the past. Edited May 21, 2019 by LengerichKA88 Thought I italicized both hints, I did not.

LengerichKA88 1,881 #687 Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) Nope, not used for drying, that’s what I made this for. It is used for flowers/ plants though Edited May 21, 2019 by LengerichKA88
formariz 11,865 #688 Posted May 21, 2019 Does it have anything to do with grapes? I am thinking of making one to stab the damn skunk. 1
LengerichKA88 1,881 #689 Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) Not grapes specifically, but could be used on a piece of vine. Raccoons are incredibly hard to stab in my experience, and to do so safely requires great concentration, and willingness to follow through swiftly. Their skin is so thick, and so loose hanging, you have to practically have it pinned tight. *I saw “skunk” and processed “raccoons” 🤷🏻♂️ I’m headed to make more coffee. LengerichKA88 1,881 #691 Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) Nope, but you haven’t stemmed too far from it. Edited May 21, 2019 by LengerichKA88 Already gave that hint
formariz 11,865 #692 Posted May 21, 2019 Then it is to defoliate stem by running it along it.

That’s not it’s intended purpose, but it does do a good job of dethorning roses that have been cut for the vase. You’re getting close to the root of it though.

Stormin 9,976 #697 Posted May 21, 2019 Root in the slot then push into the soil? 2
LengerichKA88 1,881 #698 Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) Close enough! The defoliated stem (I use shears for that @formariz, this tears and rips instead of cuts, but is good for pushing against the inside curve of rose thorns to pop them off) is placed in the groove after rooting compound has been applied. It is then stuck into the soil, wiggled a bit, and pulled out leaving the cutting. Our soil being more clay than soil, this involves less difficult trowel work. I usually wet the ground before inserting it to make it a bit easier. Im still toying with it, but so far it’s worked well!
