Correct routing for throttle cable

Recommended Posts

Horse46

Morning all, does anyone have a picture of the correct route for the throttle cable on a C series 101-161?

I can't seem to find a good place for mine without fouling the governor arm, I'm not sure if I have brackets missing or what, so a picture of this set up would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

I don't know what the deal is with the last pic being so small.  There is bracket that supports the throttle cable which is mounted behind the pto lever bracket.

@Horse46   finding an exact picture for match is tough , but if its in the general design set up , that should get you going , welcome to the land of  "  you can't do that  " always have bits and pieces of related linkages , to source from , bend things up in a vise , lubricate and spring assis t  as you go . note that cable pull , connecting rod , set up is a great LUBRICATION  POINT  , free that up and things work easily ,  stay oily , pete

I don't have that pivot or rod that's mounted on the fan shroud. My cable comes in underneath and hooks to pivot with the spring on the other side .maybe that's my issue with controlling the engine speed. I have a 16hp auto no name .

@Horse46  next to last photo , see it ?  top of swing arm pull point  hole? great spot for a light extension spring , and some LUBRICATION ON RELATED MOVEMENT POINTS !  that spring pull will always ASSIST  your setting , most of the tractors I see , are  loaded with RUSTY / DRY  swing points . been using  3in 1 penetrating oil lately  , very good cable lube tracking , ease of movement . test / try  as you go , make it better ! make that cable drip , pete

Wow, I didn't look at the date, just the info which helped me.  Must have missed it back in 2016. Lol, info is info no matter how old it is . Now I have something else to look out for when I'm in the land of kohler parts. Probably passed by the parts 100 times over the last 20ish years.

@TDF5G   just curious , did you ever  enhance  / add  any movement  assist to  throttle cable set up ?  glairing to me , all the dry / rusty " movement areas " , nothing sarcastic intended , but have personally , detailed in cable / pull points , added spring pull assist . 3-1 penetrating oil , pete

Very doubtful the hook up on my K-341 C-145 is anywhere near correct but it works okay. The engine has been replaced at some point and I would guess that might have something to do with the routing.

C - Series, Hood and Sheet Metal (square black insert) (also known as black hood models) for sale!

This sheet metal set, including C Series Hood, Dash piece, Seat Bracket, and Left & Right-Side Covers, and Left & Right Floorboards was sandblasted, epoxy primed, and painted the OEM Wheel Horse Red Paint.

The painted set is not perfect, a little metal pitting on one of the floorboards, a few little imperfections in the paint here and there as I'm a rookie painter, but this is a nice painted set of sheet metal to freshen up your C Series Wheel Horse!

Does anyone know where I could find a complete engine rebuild kit from for the k-19 ? I absolutely love my c-195 and have had it for years. But the motor let go last fall and I want to rebuild it or upgrade the motor, any suggestions?

Hello all. I am looking for suggestions on adapting the pto from my C series tractor to a harbor freight predator 420 13hp engine. I know the predator motors are a controversial topic however it is the route I have chosen for this particular machine. The intent was to mostly use it for plowing so no PTO required but it would be handy to have. Looking to hear from someone that has successfully done the swap that may offer any advice before I attempt to transfer it over. Just looking for any general pointers that will help me along the way to make it go as smoothly as possible.
