13 pointsThis one just fell in my lap. My Cousin thinks there's too much work to do so it ended up on my trailer. More stuff for retirement !

10 pointsWith my Gt1600 in the garage getting new brakes it seemed like the perfect time to install the stud kit I bought off Bob @rmaynard a couple years back. Checked the hub set screws while I was in there. This is a dedicated plow machine so it gets worked hard. I decided to leave my inner and outer weights on (call me lazy), it’s still a chore to get em mounted but for sure it’s easier than using the old style lug bolts. She just needs an oil change and she’ll be ready for winter. Definitely not a “pretty tractor” but it’s so dang dependable, she earned a bath with soap and all

5 pointsThank you all! I appreciate the birthday greetings! Cleaning out my truck today and may get my 1967 Lawn Ranger with the snowblower ready for the winter season today!

4 pointsAn easy way to R & R wheels with weights or weighted wheels or both: Go to HF and get one of those dollies to move cars with. Jack up the tractor enough to get the dollie under the tire. Unbolt the wheel and roll it out and visey versey to re-install.
-
4 pointsI've told many people over the years... There's a fine line between laziness and efficiency. And I ride right on that line..... I think wheel studs on these may very well be the Best Modification anybody can do to a Wheelhorse.

4 pointsHappy Friday the 13th everyone!! I am NOT superstitious. Superstitions are formed in old wives tales and stories that were created because humans have a fear of the unknown. I try to greet every single day whether a holiday or a superstition day like any other day. Try to have a half-decent positive attitude and hope for the best.

3 pointsNearly Final stage.... for the Beast itself, just still awaiting for my Metal...🧐😢 But however, still doing today another Stresstest on my FEL. i tried to lift the Agave, after several day‘s of rain, the palete where it stand of breaks with a loud Crack... 😎😱 i guess it must have now more than 300 Kilos ( Weighttest on Neighbours Treelibra we seen 275 Kilos, and there it was dry) so i simply get few belts they last 25Kilo each, i fiddelin* on the FEL and try to lift. Tadaaaaa it lifts without counterweight ! Yeeeeehaaaaaa! Goal absolutely reached. With counterweight im easily able to lift few hundrets more. Calculated was 2 Tons, where i‘m sure it will last if improvment for Angle was welded in. Just i think i have discussions later with Kati about the Front Yard....😎 Why? Oh Boy, don‘t ask..... This tyres are absolute overkill in Grass is Wet, the didn‘t slip, they just diggin....😂

3 pointsHaha! Sorta...but after muckling the rears on with both inside and outside weights installed I was ready for a nap 😴

3 pointsSo I’m back in Connecticut, time to finish up the brake job. Installed, tested, adjusted and tested again and WHAM! This sucker stops on a dime! Rear tires lock right up on pavement, going to have to get used to it.

3 pointsIts down to the bare transmission and the frame. Been just a tad warm so haven't spent a whole lot of time in the shop. I needed to get the hubs off the axles and figured I needed a good way to get them off without destroying any more hubs. Got to talking with Ed Kennell and did some LBR Engineering (LBR = Looks About Right) Finally got all the parts I needed, did a little welding and tried it out tonight The end result was the the hubs are off the axles and nothing got broken in the process

3 pointsSoft Food grinder missing the auger, handle, and end nut. With those large openings, it would not be able to grind raw meat. Most meat grinders have cutting plates with several different size holes. My deer grinder.

2 pointsWell....I bought another Wheel Horse today. It’s a C-145. I bought it for the engine. I was told it wasn’t all that nice so I didn’t feel bad taking parts from it but it turns out it’s in pretty good shape. Now I’m not sure I want to strip it for the parts I want.

2 pointsThanks to everyone for the help. I contacted a-ztractor.com and got my air filter assembly ordered. I will post pictures once its installed.

2 pointsUpdate: Took carb off and took it apart. First thing I found was a missing screw on the throttle side butterfly. Replaced that with a spare laptop screw that fit it perfectly. Second thing I found was the main needle was flaking off it's "paint". Scrubbed all that off, put it back together and it runs a lot better. It occasionally "misses" but nothing impactful. Float was fine. Submerged for a while, no water in it. Did not sink at all.

2 pointsDoing today another minor works... firstly emblems... found it good, view from the Bridge... description of function... and lastly a Gadget, i have in spare, about several years - 15Years i guess.. Fits perfectly ! The Next Please... 😂 than i grabed the Sicklebar and rethinkin my last idea. there are allready holes in, they can be used for the mount. try if it was a senseful Or maybe not. As far as the Pump will acting as a Oilmotor, i think it will work. Shifting value i can reach will be 8 cm, max. Will be 10cm possible. think i will reuse the M10 Threaded rod as Link. same from a front view... doesn‘t look bad at all.

2 points@ebinmaine @pullstart Since we are on the subject of fans and wind here is a quick video of how they stop the “fan” from turning so he adjusts sails. Not a great video but I was just trying to get a good angle and not get hit by it. FCAF4655-2189-410B-9BD4-1E03A686D094.MOV

2 pointsI considered removing the weights, but instead of using separate bolts for the inside and outside weights I just used real long bolts and bolted em all on as one. It’s a real pain to get it all lined up and bolted together. These rears haven’t been off in a few years so it’s not often I find myself having to do this. I did set up my sons new WH with inside weights held on with their own bolts.

2 pointsHappy Happy Lane Only guy I know who hauls lounge chairs to a tractor show!
-
2 pointsThe points are under that little red cover to the left of the condenser in your picture. No need to remove the flywheel to get to them on that Kohler, but you might want to just clean under the flywheel. Nice tractor. I'd also agree that you're better off with a Kohler engine instead of the original Tecumseh. Good luck with it. Jim
-
2 pointsI did the same thing as Garry but I added some valve springs. It allows wiggle to make it easier to line up the bolts. I used long carriage bolts.

2 pointsHey no worries. You were probably born with a half decent attitude and a desire to find food. Other than that we have to learn everything. I asked the exact same question a couple years ago. I've always messed with Briggs or Tecumseh. Both have points under the flywheel. Never even occurred to me that they'd be out where a human could reach 'em on a Kohler. Keep asking questions. We all like to work on these tractors... In person or from a distance vicariously.
-
2 pointsSomeone here or somewhere else taught us this stuff, we’re just passing it along! Here’s to hoping you have it going soon!
-
2 pointsI agree. Most of my engines get, if really poor off, a new coat of the correct color. I expect a hit and miss to get oily and dirty. My original engines I do my best to keep just so. This particular one just happens to be a little different then the rest and I'd like it to stand out. Not a whole lot of FB's running anymore. My old Maytag gas washer will never go a day without cleaning.. but I still am not afraid to do the shop wash with it every single week. It was done with basic rustoleum and it's held up fairly well. But around the carb and tank filler it's already beginning to wash. ..But, I can easily dismantle a washer engine and touch up the top of the tank. This B&S would not be such an easy task.

2 pointsThat is a good approach...my way is easier. Dedicated snow tractors weights and chains never have to come off.
