7 pointsHere is my snow rig for the year! This is all I needed to clear my driveway with !!
-
7 pointsnew to me. I have asked questions just never posted pics. Picked this up in Macugie Pa from it's original owner. It came with a 42 rear discharge deck, 48" plow and chains. This is how it came very clean. Alway's kept in heated garage at a car wash. Think I got a deal, paid $750. It was 400 hundred m,iles from home, but well worth the trip.

6 pointsJust got my new tires today and put them on my newly painted rims. You got a love the tri-rib look!! Reminds of our old farm tractors growing up. I really like the almond color! What a contrast!

6 pointsThis is a good point to drop in a video as it kinda covers all of the above. What it doesn't cover is the fender pan getting lengthened a bit.. Seeing the fender pan just resting on the top of the tyres was bugging me, so to get it to stay in the right place and height it gained some legs.. Only one thing for it... Get the ladder out and climb aboard to see how it feels.. The view down the bigger bonnet from the seat is amazing.. You will see it in the next video.. Yes the seating postion looks a bit high, the middle of the fender pan will be chopped out and lowered to get the seat and my vast weight lower.. A couple more pic's without the fat bloke... And that's as far as the build has got, the next job is to copy the fender pans lead and makes some legs/stands to hold the engine/trans in the right place and screw it down to the bench. I still need to tweak the panels around a bit, but I'm not that far off of thinking about the chassis..

5 pointsHey Jim, Wheel-Vo has never been far from my mind, I have just been too busy with life and trying to get my quad build done (almost finished) to find the time to make a start... Until now What wood working skills??? I can "do" wood when I have too, but I'm more of a metal guy... You might of noticed Who knows what the future will hold.. I have been thinking about the suspension, but for a machine who's main roll in life will be to smoke the rear tyres/tires away, I'm not 100% sure it's going to be needed. with the low height I need there also wouldn't be any real suspension travel, maybe 2-3 inches! Also no suspension would make the build a tad easier!! My current thinking is something I saw on a racing mower which I am told works very well and saves a lot of back pain!! From the front it's hard to spot.. A bit of a give away at the back though Anyway, I'm not quite at that point in the build yet, but not the far off..... Yes work has finally started on Project Wheel-Vo I havn't quite finished my MadTrax quad build yet, but I had got to the point where I needed a few bits to finish it but no cash to buy them.. (Ordered this morning by the way) But MadTrax had reached the point where it could come off the bench... And as the bench was empty of course I needed something to put on it Engine, trans, a few wheels and the bonnet plonked in place.. Although the look is rather grin worthy, there are a few problems such as the bonnet is too short, too wide, and not long enough to not onlt fit over the engine but also cover the radiator, intercooler and tran oil cooler! Sooo best add 12 inches to the length and 4 inches to the width.. At this point I am not sorting the bodywork out, I just need to stretch things a little until Wheel-Vo looks right hence all the random bit of tube and box holding the bonet together.. The fender pan got a bit of a stretch as well.. "Now with an added Nigel" to help you work out the scale..

4 pointsOnly specification I took note of: "FREE" (found on side of road during recent walk...) Many, many, many seconds spent bending the S hook to the proper angle to smoothly link in true style with the perfectly placed holes in the fender pan...Probably at least 15 seconds of detailed and tedious fine tuning with the pliers and vise-grips... Truly a thing of engineering genius...appreciated only by those with an eye towards the finer things in life...

3 pointsI rebuild original carbs when I can, lately I will buy old original carbs to rebuild instead of buying the cheap 14 dollar knock carbs, you get what you pay for.
-
3 pointsVin's tractor also has the reel mower frame attached like the one Craig posted. The guards must've come with the reel mower attachment
-
3 pointsYep - Added that last week... Pretty simple design that holds the shovel perfectly as I go down the road (at excessive speed) to my neighbor's drives... Mods may want to add a new one to the Manuals section: WH NOS Pt. No. CHEPO-PLSTC-SHVL-001.

3 pointsFound this pict here Lane... note tractor on the left, not sure if your cover is the same??
-
3 pointsI don’t know if mine is good or not but it does attach at six different locations. It attaches to the front where the attach a matic used to be, it attaches in the center underneath the dash tower, and it attaches to the rear axles. I wanted to spread the weight as evenly as I possibly could. I had quarter inch by 2 inch angle iron so that’s what I used. Box tubing probably would be better from a torsional rigidity standpoint.

2 pointsIf your throttle shaft has any side to side movement (more than a tiny tiny bit) you can put a bushing on the top of the carb to correct it. Kohler makes one part #2515802-5, 7/16" o.d. x 1/4" i.d. x 1/8" thick but I have never found it in stock at Partstree or other online parts places (you might find it on ebay). If you have a hardware store with all those little parts drawers you can get some brass thrust washers 7/16" o.d. x 1/4" i.d. x 1/16" thick Hillman part #58087 and stack 2 of them in that little recess in the top of the carb body. sometimes i find after installing them the throttle shaft fits a little tight, so i take a 1/4" drill bit and ream them out by hand. don't chuck the drill bit in a drill it will be to aggressive.
-
2 pointsHere's mine. It's a copy of a wheel horse loader subframe. Attaches to the mid attach matic and rear axle, stabilizer rods attach to the front attach matic.
-
2 pointsStarting the night with KBS Klean, the first part of a three part tank sealing system. In short, this smells like Greased Lightening degreaser. I used the recommended 1:1 degreaser and hot water and added the optional handful of 1/4-20 nuts. You can see an outline on my bench where I spilled a bit of the concentrate. I shook it vigorously and will repeat a few times before draining and rinsing with water.
-
2 pointsSeveral of us, myself included, have purchased the cheapie carburetors off of the fleabay and had decent results for the most part. That said, if your original carb can be taken apart, cleaned, and rebuilt. That is definitely the way to go! Check your throttle shaft bore for wear for starters.

2 pointsIn honor of Mr. Hinkle and those first responders who have helped my family as of recent, I stopped by a State Police Officer’s house this afternoon just as he was starting his shift. I shook his hand, reminded him that there are people who appreciate him and his brothers and sisters and thanked him fofor what they do. He told me it’s not that bad around here, I told him Officer Hinkle probably didn’t think it was that bad either. I offered to help keep his drive clear, but he assured me that he and his wife 3njoy th exercise. Please know I’m not telling you all for recognition. I’m just reminding you that a simple thank you or a smile and a nod might make someone’s day. It’s a great time to share positive vibes in some effort to make the world a better place.
-
2 pointsYou done a good job there and I am appreciative of people's hard work. Perhaps you'd be willing to share the specifications of your fastening device? I'm going to need at minimum, the length and wire size of the ends, angle of curl, length and approximate torsional strength of the flexible material used to create the center portion of said fastening device.

2 pointsClutch pedal rod #14 is threaded into a #22 trunnion at the rear. Take the cotter pin out at the padel and you should be able to shorten the rod for a shorter driver. Garry

2 pointsHopefully, it is a stretched belt. That is where to start...how much your wife grinded gears...that is next. Check the belt 1st.

2 pointsSee also my response to your other post Heat can affect coils and the stator windings that power the coil. There are some diagnostics you can run try them hot and cold see page 45-46 The basic test is unfortunately replace with known good coil and see if the problem resolves. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?q=cast&type=downloads_file&nodes=15

2 pointsMy Wheel Horse puller was originally a basket case 1977 model C-120 8 speed. It has a 22hp Robin-Subaru V-twin engine. The hood is from a 1965 Wheel Horse. The custom made front spindles lower the front end about 4". My cousin did the vinyl graphics for me.
-
2 pointsThe sub-frame on my GT-14 is a continuous sub-frame attached to the tractor frame at the front, center and rear of the transmission at the axles. The sub-frame is considerably heavier then the tractor frame and transfers all loader related stresses to the ground through the axles. If done any other way the stresses of the loader would weaken the frame over time.

2 pointsGeneral Motors used these terminals for years and Packard Electric was part of the corporation with AC-Delco also owned by GM. Someone over there has to have these terminals. What do the outdoor power repair shops use? You could remove the terminals from the connector one at a time and clean them. Have given them a slight squeeze to tighten their gripping force on the male terminal and put them back in the connector. Just use the blade of a knife to bend the rear tang so it locks in the connector. Would be nice to solder the wire to terminal connection but next to impossible to get them clean enough. A Kohler dealer may be another source. Terminal #6 on these pages. If they do not have they should know of a local source for you. Garry

2 pointsAwesome Horse!! Would you mind posting the hxw of your series 2 kohler air cleaner decal? I had not seen that one before.

2 pointsI don't have a problem with a bit of custom work on a 953, heck I've got one with a seat like that Simplicity seat (mine came from Tractor Supply) and it is very comfortable. I bet Terry @Vinylguy has a sticker big enough to cover that up.
-
2 pointsSealant on the mounting bolt threads would stop most of the oil leakage as the holes go thru the block.

2 pointsIt's technically a "blue tractor", but it's Toro under the paint. Built myself a snow cab to not get snow blown in my face. I have about 500' of driveway to keep clear (including the loop up front, where the mailman comes). The cab has an acrylic windshield with an old Ford truck wiper arm, manually driven. The sides and back were 4 mil vinyl, but that froze and then tore in the last deep freeze, so I'm replacing with fiber reinforced clear tarp (14 mil). Replaced the battery this year, and so far it's fired up whenever I've needed it.
-
2 pointsI've gotten to put the C-161 with the 22hp predator to work a few times this year so far. I might have all the bugs worked out at this point haha. This pic was from yesterday. Just got done clearing up the snow and ice we got the day before and overnight.

1 pointHad some spare time tonight, got the 2 post hoist squared and anchored! Next step, finishing up the cables and wiring.
