16 pointsJust got a 1989 414-8 with 37” deck and snow plow. Would like to have a service manual for it and how to put on and take off attachments. Any other advice as well. Thank you.

14 pointsThis is the rare front sickle bar mower designed for the 701 Wheel Horse which has the chain drive running off the drive pulley. S good friend bought this and I know there are very few pictures of one of these on Red Square so enjoy the look see! five or six grease fittings on this front cutter bar.

10 pointsI wanted to share this topic to some of the RS members who may remember these races,I was much to young.Pictured with me on my left is Don B who was one of the last Racers to run the Road race on the beach in 1960.In 1961 the race was moved to a paved closed circuit track where Don finished jn 2nd place and in 1962 he finished in 1st place on a Triumph.Don is a self employed auto mechanic by trade and is well known in the New England area in Enduros& Turkey Runs. This picture was taken in 2013 as we prepare to go on a fall dual sport ride in late September.I believe Don was 80 in this photo and I can tell you he is extremely difficult to keep up with in the woods even though I have been riding dirt bikes since age 13.I have learned a lot from his riding style and it has been a great privilege to know him,he still goes to work 5 days a week & trips to Daytona every year,I guess it keeps him young. At 86 he still rides but we stay out of the single track trails and focus more on nice quiet back country roads and dirt roads.Don has a nice posterboard black& white picture of him after winning Daytona and shows parts of the race track and trophy he received with the other top finishers and is proudly displayed in a bay of his shop.Ever since I was young I seem to gravitate towards learning & hanging out with people with similar interests and this is why I enjoy RS so much.I know we have some very young members here and to them I say, always respect your elders, you never know what they have had to endure and what they may have accomplished in life . Thanks all for listening.

8 pointsThis has been hashed and rehashed here over and over. Toro DID know what they were getting when they bought Wheel Horse, that's why they bought them. But, to build one today would cost a lot which would make a new one priced so high, they would be competing, price wise, with the higher end market that is occupied by Deere, Simplicity, Kubota, etc. As most probably don't know, Eastman Industries bought Ingersoll and pretty much kept the design of the old Case/Ingersoll tractors intact, but prices are very, very high. So much so, that even die hard Case/Ingersoll owners wouldn't/couldn't afford a new one. I would say, the same thing would be happening if Wheel Horse was still being made today using the old classic design/build that most here want. What would happen, though you would be thrilled that they were still being made, you wouldn't buy one due to the high price compared to an used one that you may or may not own now. Oh, you might say you would buy new, but most here won't due to the price. As for non-Wheel Horse owners, they would just go buy a MTD or AYP product for a fraction of what a new Wheel Horse would cost. All they want is something to "cut" the grass, they don't want something that they can admire, show off at shows, do extra work, etc. And for those who had the money, they would buy a more updated design with diesel engine, 4WD, etc. or they would hire a land scaping company. Believe it or not, but there is a lot of people who just aren't interested in owning, maintaining, bragging, showing off, etc., their classic garden tractor.

7 pointsThe C160 I have didn't come with the 2 piece seat so I purchased one from Northern tool. It does look good and is comfortable BUT I wanted an original looking seat. So after making the seats for the lawn ranger and 1054/953 I've decided to give it a try. I did buy a seat that I could make patterns from and I can get very close to original. But with the c160 seat there's a big problem trying to duplicate them , they have designs in the back and the seat. Lines in the seat and the back and the back also has the wheelhorse emblem. I've been working on it since October 2018 and as the weather get better I can get in my garage to make a heated frame to make the designs in the seat and back. I had a die made for the Wheelhorse emblem. But this is the biggest problem I've run into. The back has a 1/6" steel plate that it's glued to and the seat has a 1/32 galvanized plate that it's glued to. I can't make these because it's not cost effective to try to reproduce it. So I can't charge what it would cost me to make a complete set. There for I may make the replacement seat and back that can be installed by the owner if they have the old steel back and seat. Maybe I'll make a video on how to install the new seat and back. Here is a few pictures to show some of the progress I've made. It will still be some time before I get a set completed and ready to install.but I hope to have them at the Big Show this year. Hopefully they'll look like the last picture when I'm done . Ps the last picture was borrowed and it's not mine. Yet

5 pointsDell I didn't think I would do these at first. Sarge and I had this discussion last year and I thought about all the work just to make these .I told him I didn't want to get into them because of all the time and extra work involved . YOU DO KNOW THAT I AM RETIRED. I really don't make a lot of money on the seats I make after all the thousands of dollars I've invested in the material and equipment. I do it because I enjoy making them. And I like to see them make these tractors look nice. I'm not there yet on the designs or the lines in the seat and back but I'll give it my best try.

5 pointsHello, all. Saved this little Wizard over the weekend. Had to trek through 4' of snow half way into a field to dig it out. Took a good while haha. Anyway, it's a 50's Wizard 2 cycle with a Power Products engine. Does anyone here have one like it? Seems to be in mostly good shape, but it's missing most of the engine decals, and I am trying to figure what they ought to be, as I plan to restore it as a simple little project. Despite sitting over 20 years out there, I didn't even touch the points, and it lit right off today on a prime.

4 pointsJust dropped off mower deck to Clay Brooks in Ringgold, Georgia at the North Georgia Tire and Alignment store his family owns and operates. Only tire store i one I ever saw display lawn and garden tractor tires! It has not changed much sine 2001 thelast time I was here.

4 pointsPets hold a special place in our hearts that no one else can - a personal connection to an animal is a gift. I think the best thing you can do is give another one a loving home - too many animals never get that chance of having a good, loving home. Sorry to hear that. Sarge

4 pointsPut one of these on the 520's the other day, starts right up without the choke. Pretty happy, will have to see how the loader responds after sitting for weeks.

3 pointsHey Bob, don’t sell yourself short. These are the best covers I’ve seen. Keep up the good work and let us know if you do get any sets for sale. We really appreciate the level of craftsmanship that you put into your covers. Lookin’ good!

3 pointsI was really worried about the cheap predator that I put in my 606 roller so I actually did two braces off of the engine. I crisscrossed them so that it gives it some horizontal and vertical support. Jim Kemp’s mufflers are built well and are heavy. It’s not pretty but seems to be holding up well.
-
3 pointsThey do make a difference Tom. I put them on just below the fuel pump and now they always fire right off. One 520 if it sat for a week you almost had to hand feed it before it would start. Now always fires right off with some choke if it's real cold. Very low restriction on them too.

3 pointsI’ve gotten reinterested in one of my other hobby’s recently and the tractors have taken a back seat. This past weekend though I bought em out right. So they’re mine all mine now. I also took the plow off the Charger (to make sure it snows again of course). Removed the old decals on the hood, and upgraded the shower head muffler that I don’t care for.

3 pointsHehehe. I figured the height of the stack for cinnamon by experience with the 1267 plow tractor. I'm using the same piece of exhaust and I have wanted it to be a few inches taller more than once to get the fumes a little higher. And it's a stack. And I'm 5. And I like stacks.

3 pointsMy deepest sympathy. RainbowBridge.com Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...

3 pointsI put a electric fuel pump on my 520h. I should have done it 20 years ago.
-
2 pointsI took a flat bar from the pile o stuff and put a twist and a couple bends in appropriate places using the bench vice and a huge C clamp. No heat needed. 11 gauge x 1-1/2" stock. I was even lucky enough to have 2 of the 3 holes where they needed to be. All exhaust and the bracket will be removed and painted. I'm thinking this'll do for now. @Mows4three @LengerichKA88

2 pointsI agree with dells, looks wonderful and would look even better on the seat of my 16 Auto. I am betting there's going to be a line of willing buyers at your site if you have them for sale. I know I'll be one of them.

2 pointsNot much accumulation in this storm bout, but plenty of high winds and power outages! I picked up a new “7500” watt Genny yesterday, wired up a cord for our “hot tub” plug on the outside of the house just in time for power to go out today. I was fortunate enough to help an elderly neighbor who is laid up to get them some heat too.
-
2 pointsOk Bob, you can’t tease us like this! You’ve got to go into production on them. I know I’d be up for a complete set! Very nice work!!
-
2 pointsThe fact that so many parts are backwards/forwards compatible to different tractors is what keeps us going in restoring. 4 speed and 8 speed transmissions will swap, for example.. Just a little secret...Honda Motorcycles are like that as well. Cross reference charts and used parts on the internet have seen to that..When you see a Gold Wing part used on an ATV,that's when you get amazed
-
2 pointsIf you have the original connector you can release the terminals and insert new ones. The original WH number was 106024 but no longer available from Toro. Found it here http://terminalsupplyco.com/Store/Default.aspx?CATDRILL=DEL010&PCAT=54228#Categories Part number 2973407 about half way down the page. This same style of switch was used by GM and I believe Chrysler or Jeep in the past so that should be another source. Garry

2 pointsI always liked that style of seat and would look good on any model tractor. Excellent Bob but I will ask the question the other fellas will surely want to know. Can the the die be used on the other seats and the fine covers you make?
