A friend of mine had been after me for over a year to buy his 310-8. He called me to tell me to just come take it cause he was sick of moving it around. Nice straight tins and the paints in good shape. Needs a little bit but should run. Not bad for the price of free.

Original 1045 I’m trying to resseruct . My plan is to keep it as original as possible . I have the proper tires and a non painted oem dash for it . However the rims I will send off to get coated as there betting bringing back .

OK. I have gotten to know a few of you guys on the forum. Seems to me we share a lot of the same passions (a fondness for Wheel Horse tractors) and have the same mindset (thrifty and resourceful). I've also formed the opinion that, like me, you're mostly over 40 and in the eternal battle of keeping a manageable waistline. On the weekends the missus and I like to go to a little diner near us called the Youngstown Grille. We see a lot of our friends there and we can always find lively conversation with the wait staff and patrons. My buddies and I started ordering the same "off menu" breakfast and have coined a name for it. We call it the 1-2-3. It's one 14" pancake, two pieces of sausage and three eggs over easy, all on the same plate. Comes with a large mug of coffee and I think we pay $7.99 for it. A guaranteed belly buster. Of course I respectfully acknowledge that thevYoungstown Grille is not a diner in the true sense of a NJ diner, but it has its ambiance, the folks that work there are friendly and they make some awesome food. It also doesn't hurt that Arnold Palmer used to frequent the place when he was at home (its only about 1/2 mike from his house). How about it guys? They were originally twist lock. Pull it out to where you want turn it clock wise and it was supposed to lock. They wear out. You can buy a new one or use my approach One clothes pin fast idle 2 full throttle

The wheels that were first on it were what came on it. I had a set of 16” tahoe limited wheels I was going to run but he got the truck before I had a chance to use them. So I had a clue but didn’t have a chance to do anything about it. You should see the dually he is building. 24” Alcoa aluminum semi wheels. He is definitely my son

Well, the ole girl got another workout today. 12 inches of snow and still counting, so me and the ole girl will be busy when it finally stops snowing.

It has been snowing steady since yesterday at noon. Since it was wet I pushed last night when we had about 6”. I was amazed how well the 161 pushed the 54” blade. This morning my son and I both worked on the additional 6” we got overnight. It was his first time pushing snow and he did pretty well. After I finished up ours I did a couple of the neighbors drives. It pushed the 12” snow great too. It was pushing a pile darn near the size of our couch. My wife was even impressed. Enough bragging on the old girl. Here are a couple pics she took.

We’ve been on a Keto thing lately, I’m 33 and what I would consider fit. Not skinny, but not overweight unless you ask a doctor. This new “lifestyle” (not a diet) is high fat, high protein, lots of eggs, low sugar, low carbs. A bunch of “good” oils and fats. Low dairy intake, but that’s an optional part I think. We have 16 laying hens and they are just starting to lay within the last month, so there are at least 4 dozen eggs in the kitchen at any given time. In the last week, I shed 8 pounds just dropping sugar and carbs (beer during the week too) but keeping meat, fat, and eggs as major food groups. It takes a lot of kitchen prep and cook time for this poor dude and I try to do as much as I can before Momma gets home. I went to a birthday party yesterday for my buddy’s daughter’s 1st and had crackers, cheese, cake, etc. I thought I was in heaven! On the way home I felt tired and sluggish, like the 4 or 5 cups of coffee I had during the day hadn’t done their job. My daily snacks are bacon, ham, eggs, salad stuff, mayo, mustard, etc. I haven’t minded this, it seems like I could actually get used to this! Today we went to Dave and Buster’s to redeem our kid’s Christmas presents from Grandparents. I had a bacon cheeseburger with jalapeños and a lettuce wrap instead of a bun. It’s the first time I can recall ever having a bun less burger, and I didn’t miss the bread one bit!

Well was time to fix the steering. Soooo....I got tired of working around the loader so it came off for a short while. Needs painted anyway which may not happen til spring.

Time for primer. Starting on the second coat first onewith etching primer the second with automotive primer then sand ! And not the sand between your toes oh well!

The cold air is denser and it could be just a little tweak on the idle jet from winter to summer might just be the answer, unlike electronic fuel injection you may still have to make manual adjustments for air fuel ratio for temperatures and altitude.

Top left hand side on the coast. Both those towns are 30 - 40+ miles away. There are places, but why pay for something I can do myself if I wanted?

My normal breakfast during the week usually consists of a pot of strong black coffee before I leave the house, then I make another one when I get to the shop. However on Saturday mornings I usually go to the café right beside the RV park I'm in now for coffee and breakfast with Ray, always order the same thing 2 eggs over easy with bacon hashbrowns and white toast, and a lot of coffee. Then my usual Sunday morning routine is to go to the quick stop in the next town over and have coffee with some of the old farmers over there, one in particular I always go to visit with as he is a fellow tractor (Farmall) collector. After leaving there I usually make the 25 mile drive to Woodward and have my same usual breakfast at a little café inside of the truck wash there. Those little truck wash and truck stop cafes are always some of my favorite places, anytime I'm traveling I always try to find one along my way, most serve breakfast all day long, and some of the best food and friendliest staff I have found.

That does look good, but I’m not a pancake guy.....bacon and eggs with home fries. Love home fries and bacon. After all, bacon is the candy of all meats.

Just got done plowing drive we got about 7 inches here plowed some pathes for the dog

We do have a couple of local eateries that are pretty good but my favorite place really would have to be any one of a half a dozen campgrounds that we frequent during our hiking excursions here in Southwestern Maine and Northern New Hampshire. Many of the hikes that we do are one way or the other of 12 miles with a fair amount of elevation gain. During one of these larger hikes it's quite possible that I can burn between 7000 and 9000 calories in one day. That means that for two or three days after a hike I almost can't get enough protein. I really do enjoy more than I could even begin to tell you waking up around Daybreak on a nice cool morning and starting out with a big steaming cup of boiled Cowboy Coffee that I make myself and then Trina and our friends go to work cooking up eggs and whatever meat we have available. That's a breakfast.

I just got done clearing about 2 1/2" here with the 857. It was a nice snow to move. That shot of the 2 of you guys tells it all.

They do, but i am smiling because the storm will miss this area.

not bad for the price of free? did you buy a couple of lotto tickets? I just love the opportunity to recover a horse like that, do me a favor , before you do anything else , take an oil sprayed cloth , and rub that down on all finishes, send me a picture , what does that look like? having done that on typically neglected horses, that will make you realize what you have. mega millions , Pete

I'm with Craig on this one, I'm not really a fan of either.

the ASPECT RATIO has a huge effect on the sidewall height , look ,and wear ,and handling on the truck. if you want to stay period correct , you stay close to original . something that is a glairing fact to me ,is that the new big wheels and very short and stiff sidewalls , have horrible mileage life, and they are very pricy. you could go to a 17" wheel set up and have a good combination of looks / wear/ and much better costs. once you go above 18" wheels ,the novelty of regular tire replacement goes away quickly. you can go online and find your truck, and swap tire/wheel combinations to see what you can do . just pricing 20+ " tire / wheel combinations is nuts. this is just my own opinion and experience, hope you find your answer , pete

As far as the gas tank, I got a story. My first WH was a B100 Auto, 1975. It was about 15 years old when I went to run it one day. I know the tank had plenty of fuel left from cutting a few days earlier. I started running and it ran out of gas, strange I though, so I got a can and began to fill the tank only to see the rubber grommet on the tank valve failed and the fuel leaked all over the battery and down the side of the engine. Seemed pretty dangerous. Of course, the fuel that was in the tank leaked out while idle and nothing bad happened. Very well could have been ugly, if I didn't happen to look down and see those drips and cranked it up. The starter solenoid was wet too. I like that tank location because it keeps the carb primed but I can see how it was a good idea to move it also.

You are close Dave. Very close. They are in fact a Pac Man archeological relic from the 5th century bc. The Chinese had just learned to melt iron (Western man wouldn't pull it off for nearly another 1600 years) and were enjoying some downtime by creating a new game. Traditionally played by fairly strong folk. One ran along a line of people holding sticks or reeds and tried to stuff or "pack" them in the "mouth" of the game piece. They were of course being chased by those trying to empty the game piece. A win was achieved as we all know by making it back to the goal. A more modern version of the game was produced in 1980 by neighboring Japan and was seen from the side in 2D so the sticks look like dots. Disclaimer: I may have fabricated parts of the story.

Cast is very easy to tap. Hardest part is getting the tap started in strait with the called for 7/16 drill on a tap chart for a 1/4-18 NPT. Using a tad larger drill, 29/64 will help and still give good threads. I also make magnetic drain plugs.

You can cut off the Z bend, pull some of the wire out of the conduit and put a bend (or two) in the wire. Not too sharp of a bend but enough to create more friction. Do it a little at a time until you feel the resistance and feel comfortable it will work. Then put a new Z bend on the end.

I couldn’t agree with you guys more. I used to plow with the 520 but now it’s my full-time FEL tractor. Luckily most of my snow plowing is long straight stretches so I don’t have to do a lot of shifting or lifting.

To reinstall you also can put the ring gear in the oven at around 400 (Probably do this while the wife is shopping). Same time put the receiving flywheel in the refrigerator/freezer (or just leave it outside overnight this time of year.) Then proceed as above...

I've had a green Gates Napa belt on my C-160 hydro for over 8 years. 5L840W. About 50 bucks. In fact I have aftermarket Napa Green or TSC Blue on everything I own with no problems at all. I don't really see the attraction of OEM unless it's a special length.

Time for a compression check. If the correct plug is seated in a good threaded hole, it would require over 200PSI to blow out the head threads.
