Well Monday had a great day rounding up some attachments. Now to clean them up, paint, get new badges from the vinyl guy. Just a few projects for winter and maybe summer we see how it goes. Just not sure which I'm going to do first. Almost forgot the new addition to the heard.

When I finished the refresh on Putt Putt and momma took her first ride, she asked me, “Is this one mine?” Now I swear I love her, but I couldn’t imagine giving up Putt Putt if I had another option. 5 months later, I find this gem. Mrs. Pullstart is out of town on business, so in the morning the girls and I plan to go look at it. The owner hasn’t ever started it and the transmission seems stuck. Not sure if it is stuck in 2 gears or locked up by water or other means, but he said it used to roll just fine. It has one light, some cool stars on the hood and some sweet rear tires. The starter / generator is a bonus for the Mrs, she has a tough time pulling Putt Putt over even though she can start her Polaris 440 snowmobile just fine.

It doesn’t get much better then opening a package from Wheelhorseman1000. Outstanding workmanship. Quality parts. Great Service. Now we will see how this 520-8 does in the snow. It’s got to be better then the bitter disappointment of the 520-h.

Hi folks, picked this up this evening. Not much there to look at, but most of my motivation was looking for a decent prospect to put a hit and miss engine on. The kohler actually runs pretty well though. And the original motor came with it, although pretty much only in bits a pieces. Only real concern right now is i cant get reverse to work, hopefully some searchin will instill some answers. Probably gonna just try to get revervse fuctional first. Then try to fit a hit/miss to it and see how it goes, if it turns out decent, ill think about tearing it down and doing some cleaning and painting. Im thinkink of using a Stover model k 1 1/2 hp hit and miss. Anywho just sharing, mike

I typically find a good patch of stones, and let them true themselves up....

I’m going to call this one done. The GT14 was a labor of love, It took more than a year to complete. It threw several challenges at me from finding parts to repairing severe corrosion. Thanks to all the great people on here and others I have met thru the process. This tractor is not one for the faint of heart to take on, as it has so many parts compared to the c models. But anyone who loves a good challenge I highly recommend the GT14. I’m looking for another project not sure what will be next I love all the models. But i’m sorta leaning towards a 953/1054 or the 857 I guess it all depends what shows up first close by.

On my 520H that tube is routed up to the plastic battery tray which in turn is to help drain acid/water away from the rest of that area.

It's a peddle tractor for my grandson to ride while pappaw is on his. Got to start the younger one early so he isn't behind the learning curve like his pappaw.

Aluminum in the large size you need to offset reduced conductivity become darn hard to bend and route. Battery cables on WHs are not that long and aren't that expensive why frustrate your self.

If it works not a bad price they do keep the blade at the correct angle but you could recoup your investment next year sharpening and balancing blades in your neighborhood, to answer your other question I just use an angle grinder with flap wheel holding the blade in a bench vice then use one the aluminum cone balancers,Jeff.

Since the resistivity of copper is 0.6 times that of aluminium, the cross-section of the aluminium conductor needs to be 1.66 times larger than that of the copper conductor for the same resistance. ... In particular, the current distribution is more uniform with copper conductors due to the higher conductivity.

Just got the 314-8 up to PA, repurposed as strictly a plowin stallion and somthing to stare at in the garage ...Its only wet because she just got a bath, this machine will never spend a night outside again! . Just waiting on my new set of AG tires to arrive and thanks to a member for the new plow setup!!!, fits perfect and with all the stainless hardware that was added it will last generations to come!

If I show up like this, I might be in trouble! If I come home like that, I know I’ll be in trouble!

But....will it fit in your truck?

A few days ago I mentioned to Trina that I thought there was "a lot of cinnamon" on the C160. I was thinking of maybe doing something to the hood. Nothing more was said. I came home today to find this... The pic makes it look curved but it's very straight. I LOVE it.

Well today I on the snowblower, wheel weights, and my rear lift rock shaft and cable, and the split hitch. I'm ready for winter but if I get my lug tires or rubber chains before winter may have to update to horse with some new goodies.

My son is 25 and it work's like this. Hey grab that engine and put it on the work bench for me. Getting old has it's advantages.

I have done it that way countless times too. But a belt sander is what I use now. Much faster, and easy to make a straight blade on with the correct angles etc.

I've tried too Bob. No luck here either. Maybe not quite as easy as a bowling ball. Just because I can do something doesn't mean I should...

I use a foldable cherry picker. Use it for lifting engines on to my little roll around work cart and use it to hold bigger parts up for painting.

Nice tractor. I’ve been working on this 416-8 and just mounted these Carlisle trac chiefs. Hoping they will plow moderate snow here in jersey without chains and some lawn duty.

Battery breather tube? Some batteries have them. Not all though, but the tube can be left behind after a battery swap.

I would go the route of the complete tuneup. New points, plug and condenser. And go from there . Is your compression good?

Guess I'm kind of spoiled. I have this available to pull engines Or as you can see pretty much anything I need to pick up to get underneath of. If I'm outside and need to pull an engine I use one of the loaders with a set of forks.

Its been debated here many times and the general consensus is that turf tires (like you have on it now) are better tires on a snow-duty tractor over AG tires. Just saying if your using it as a dedicated snow plow machine you might want to reconsider.

I use a 4 1/2" grinder with a 36grit disc ---- and I quit trying to balance long ago after taking about 1/4-3/8" off perfectly good blades hunting that sweet spot. And I cannot tell a bit of difference in deck smoothness. This IS on the horses and misc other tractors/push mowers -- with the high blade speeds on the ZTR's it would be much more critical.

No, not a good idea. Scrap it and buy copper leads at the auto parts store?

Eric, there's a reason it's no longer used in home branch wiring. Between corrosion and connections loosening due to the heat/cool cycling it's just trouble and a true fire hazard. It's still typically used for the service entrance but, if my memory serves me correctly, a 200 amp service calls for a 4/0 conductor. Now that there is a physically big conductor and would be unwieldy for a battery cable. Granted, the issues using it for home branch circuit wiring don't pertain to your battery cables it just doesn't make sense to me. When we were looking for a house for our move back here we ran across a couple with aluminum branch circuit wiring. I could do the "code correct" remedies but I just nixed them regardless of what the rest of the house was like.

Nice donuts! I have plowed many times without chains or weights. Plow often if the forecast is for "too much" junque. The 416-8 can handle it the grandson 'll tell ya!

I wouldn't use aluminum cables. You would have to buy aluminum specific terminal ends and use noalox to prevent corrosion. All of your savings have already gone away and you have an inferior product.

I bought a hydraulic lift table right after I had spinal fusion surgery. Probably should have done it years before! It is great for loading/unloading from the tailgate of the truck or any lifting in the shop. Here it is lifting a 953 frame onto the rotisserie, also have an engine hoist.

Attach the tester ground lead to the negative battery post when testing. Check both posts on the ammeter. There is a shut resistor in an ammeter between the posts that carries the major current and it can fail. If you don't have power on both posts install both wires on the same terminal - does not matter which one. Ammeter has failed. Then with the key in the RUN position see if you have power at the coil (+) post. If you do turn key to START and check the bare metal body of the carb for power. If you have power there check the ground cable between the engine mounting plate and the tractor frame. Good chance it is broken. Garry
