7 pointsInherited a Gt-1800 that sat for 8 years. Replaced battery, cables and fuel filter and it started up on 8 year old fuel in the tank. I replaced the blades and it runs and mows like a champ. Im hooked now. I caught the wheelhorse bug. Just a few small patch jobs on the deck to finish up
-
7 pointsOn the upside, I now have a relative who works at another landfill. Yes, she saves all the good stuff for me and even delivers! How cool is that?!!!

4 pointsBig Bear Auction in Eau Clair Mi. at 5580 M-140. Large selection of Wheel Horse parts and cabinets full of Wheel Horse part and tools, Kohler motors. October 11th 2018. Gates open at 9:30 am.

4 pointsAnyone tried solar power? just kidding moving panel from my "Spare Parts" pile to my neighbors pile. Did get some seat time grading spare dirt though.
-
4 pointsSent the engine to the machine shop and had some free time. Started on the hood and running boards.. Took then down to bare metal, self etching primer and Regal Red. They were looking real good and then I was looking at the panel on the right side that hides the belt (aaarggg) Took it back down and put a skim coat of some 3M body putty and repainted Looks real good now Started on the seat pan.

4 pointsThe '88 414-8 was all black under the hood, PO thought "blown engine". After power washing, checked the oil. Dipstick was loose. One bolt missing, two bolts loose. Three new bolts and a new gasket. Oil change. Fixed the "blown engine". The Horse was company owned, they purchased a new "mower". Horse was in their warehouse for a number of years. "You want this Wheel Horse? You know it has a blown engine." Reluctantly I accepted the Horse even though it only had a 42" SD deck. Free delivery, otherwise I would have turned down the 14 hp Kohler Magnum. I had to tow the Horse a hundred yards to my barn! Towed the 414-8 with another Horse. The tow Horse runs great! Really got robbed the snow plow had a bent blade! More work for me and the grandsons. Nobody in their right mind would've taken a chance. I think? Ya agree? Robbed again! I have to go, blow my nose and wipe away the tears. Why do I put up with this poop?

4 pointsSame here Jeff but I don't imagine they get too much for it do they? Another reason ours doesn't allow it. That was plan Craig ... accidentally drop a Grant or 2 by the gate Nazi. If that didn't work head off the scrap driver and see what he likes to drink... That is the kick in the groin... Thanks for the pics fellas ...feeling better already

4 pointsOr trade real scrap for it... what a bummer. If they want to generate real revenue they should have auto mailers that go out to the Garden Tractor Mafia @Achto, @PeacemakerJack, @WHX20 And @Coulter Caleb that they’re holding a GT yard sale on the first Saturday of every month! Maybe you need to apply in person by bringing your own sample to “dismantle” like a time trial for first bidding rights?

4 pointsWell we don't have that kinda wind here. Of course if @stevasaurus is here for plow day, gets into @Achto 's ranchero enchiladas and starts passing wind. Then it's every man for himself!
-
3 pointsTail lights from TSC installed with LED bulbs. Fender installed onto tractor. Terry's rear decal is here, just need to let paint dry some more then install that to be complete. Cleat
-
3 pointsIt willl hasten the build up of carbon so pulling the head and cleaning it up is a good idea
-
3 pointsTry Isavetractors ( I think that is the name they have head gaskets for your engine. I have 310-8 runs great too many safety switches for my liking but I am an ole goat.
-
3 pointsI'm not on board scrapping, shredding, melting and returning good old salvagable into a MTD, but for every $ they gain through scrap is one less I pay them to dig a hole to bury my trash ...got look at it from both ends of your wallet...
-
3 pointsCome on over!! I simply plug my grill in the cigarette lighter on my wheel horse and supper is served!!
-
3 pointsIt's rustoleum apple red. Looks like fire red in the shade which is still a shade or more up from regal red. My neice's favorite colour is baby blue. I said....that ain't happining so she picked apple red. Whewwwww........ avoided a clan war.
-
3 pointsSorry for the loss Jim and Dan. Here's a pic of his older brother that I saved. And, the C-120, my first Wheel Horse.

2 pointsI hope you have a since, cents, sense of humor...because I can't figure out what you are talking about...or what horse. I do want to say that...WOW what a nice bench top to be doing things like that on. You are either single, or the MRS. is not home. Seriously, could you elaborate a little if you still need any help???
-
2 pointsIf that carb. was cleaned properly the red paint would be at the bottom of the bucket of cleaning solvent.
-
2 pointscleat , fantastic job ! I can only imagine how fired up you must have been to recover these two horses. your thoroughness and insight detail really shows, also having a well set up shop let you get after issues without having to fumble around. the pictures were the doing all the talking for you, thank you for taking us along for the ride, terrific work , pete

2 points@WVHillbilly520H thanks for the heads up on them. I have heard good about them, so I figured I would try a set.
-
2 pointsHead gasket is same as K241 4704115-s Kohler 465328 Stens Kohlers that are some what worn will smoke white to blue white for a couple minutes... I have some that have run for along time like that...If it bothers you can overhaul it.
-
2 pointsSo far I'm pleased with the Lawn Trac R1s that I put on my anniversary 520 did fine without chains in the last decent snow this past spring, Jeff.

2 pointsI used it a lot years ago with good results but lately it hasn’t impressed me at all. Seafoam must have changed there formula because it was lite green years ago and now it is clear (there’s actually a paint code called seafoam green) So again I’m not impressed with it lately.
-
2 pointsI told him to go change them .... he did...he changed them inside out....good to go... Seriously Daron my rookie year I took the whole week off and to appease the Mrs made a little vacation out of it. Might not be for you since you live in PA but there are quite a few things to see and do in the area. The food right at the show isn't absolutely terrible either. They have a church group that runs a food stand and their suppers are quite edible. I took my pellet grille since we were camping but really no need to use it at the show. You can always invite yourself over to @wheelhorseman's camp he always has good chow! You'll' want to get there early Thursday as that's kinda the best day. Be warned tho Saturday noon the place pretty much clears out in a hurry. Browse here http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/forum/163-whcc-club-shows/ for many more pics and you'll get an idea of the camaraderie that goes on ther.

2 pointsGreat minds think alike Apples... that's what I was digging at ... I was thinking stained glass.... I know a gal.... with J&C Wheel Horse stables on it for the outside of the barn. Never mind Ritchie shipping would be a pain ...send me another batch of nubbies and I will be happy!
-
2 pointsPardon their manners, Michi, they just drooling over that horse and wishin, They do have a point on value tho but that seat is orginal and looks pretty decent. 550 is not way out of line but yes have to factor in your cost to go get it. True the Techy is less than desired but still. Don't sweat the double pic ....any in my book is worth a double take!
-
2 pointsThey are installing brand new service next week. Until then it should be good for at least one batch of Mrs M's cookie bars.
-
2 pointsAin't a bad idea Squonk... we'll let the smoke out the good leg and Bob gets all new service entrance on the power companies tab!

2 pointsAnd some are destined to serve others. This one just donated it's lift arm for a plow on the sk486 I'm refreshing for my neice. She's on a limited budget, lives a little north of me and is in the snow belt. Her 8 hp 26 wide big box store walker just doesn't cut it (clear it ). She's getting this for 1/2 of what I paid for it and at my cost for parts. Why, its family and because I love what I do. She picked the colour, so long as it was red. Not a resoration, but strong, stout and proud again thanks to some othe horses. Gonna buy and donate a full decal set to the cause as well. Good for another 30 years I'd say.

2 pointsMotor on, generator rebuilt, hy pump rebuilt, had to pull transmission gas tank had a leak, resoldered appears to not be leaking, reinstall transmission.
-
2 pointsThe paint felt dry enough so I sanded it and applied a top coat. It is much smoother ans shinier now. Fender is just sitting on a 416, not the 520. I have new tail lights from TSC to install once paint is dry. Also decal from Terry will finish it off. Cleat
-
2 pointsRear wheels are now mounted. All that is left is the rear fender painting and taillights, then install a new seat lift support and this machine is done. Cleat
