Had a run down to the rally as I'd ever been before. Just stayed for an hour and a half, but it was long enough to see everything. No horticultural machines to be seen unfortunately.

Today Trina spent several hours wire brushing the front wheels and got those primed and a coat or two of paint on them. She started to work on one of the rear wheels and basically just ran out of time. ASSEMBLY HAS BEGUN !!!!! We both worked on assembly of the tractor down in the nice cool cellar. Mocked up the seat and how it's going to sit but we will be changing the base mount.

to Great to have you on board. Nice to see another of us adamant about maintenance. You'll really like that rig. I'd like to ad that many of have experienced a very odd phenomenon. You see, horses are herd animals and these tractors seem to multiply. I started out a couple years ago with a B80 and now soon will have a total of 4 tractors.... Plus a parts pile. You should order a storage shed soon.

Never paid any attention to hour meters. Who cares? If a Horse moves into my barn, the Stallion is groomed twice as often (or more) than required. Gotta keep the grandsons busy.

Thanks @Tractor boy , this one wont effect my honey do list as it's actually honey's tractor She's on her own with that list lol. I'm just on the fix-it list for the Wheel Horse lol. Any other honey do list involving a tractor will be the 860 Power Master. She was itching to get on it, just like a kid in a candy store! I've been buying and using Cub Cadets for the better of 20 years so maintenance on these is pretty much second nature now. Will also ad fuel lines to the list with this one. The tank had some nasty gas in it so I flushed it and the lines real good. A MightyVac works great for these long lines. Thinking I'm also going to replace the fuel pump. Once running it runs fine, but after it sets the pump looses prime and doesn't like to regain it. Simple 5 minute fix. For a while the wife was wanting a chain store lawn mower, not a chance. This 312 will outlast one of those 500-1, and is much more capable

Well, I scrolled back through my millions of pictures to find something that suited my fancy. I'll go with this one. My maternal grandparents. My grandfather is sitting on his second cub. One of two or three tractors around me when I was younger that clearly started my great appreciation for these amazing machines.

This is my crazy daughter who loves the outdoors and Horses. And yes, right after I snapped the pic, I yelled at her for riding without shoes. And she cleans up decent too. 76953A9E-8A7B-4C57-BA62-C5F1E0F9EC3B.MOV E144A9B7-B170-48D5-A301-E484D488D0B4.MOV

Man does that bring back memories. My Grandfather had a '59 RJ with a white Tecumseh engine transplanted in it just like this one. I was only about 6 years old when he traded it in on a new Bolens tractor, but I remember that big white Tecumseh engine between my little legs that couldn't reach the pegs. Thanks for sharing. I do have an early RJ 58 in honor of my Grandfather's Wheel Horse.

In 1958 Rasor-West was formed with the distribution franchise of Wheel Horse Tractors in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas. They continued to grow and in 1960 added Snapper distributor lines of equipment. I own a 1958 RJ with No Date #'s on the three piece transmission that was bought new at this dealership in 1958. I purchased from the neighbor of the original owner who had it for 55 years with several original attachments.

FrankenCub Enjoy your first Wheel Horse. I think you will find them a bit easier to work on than a cub.

not necessarily if this was a primary tractor, 2880 hours over say the last 28 years calculates to only 100 hours per year. that is only 8 hours a month run time or 2 hours per week.

I think you're going to find that most of us are probably going to be biased towards older tractors and Wheelhorse in particular. That said, I mean this in all possible seriousness. Not a joke. Not trying to be funny. Not trying to be influential at all. I absolutely positively would NOT go buy a new garden tractor. I have Wheelhorses here and I just would not go buy anything else. I would only increase my available attachments. I would rather have extra Wheelhorses and fix them as needed then spend several thousand dollars on something that is new and is just not going to last. Just my two cents.....
