11 pointsDecided that for now my new AG tires will go on my C121/8speed. Dang do they look good! That's my opinion anyway

8 pointsJust got it to the house. Will be taking it to the barn at my sons house where it will be put to use. I also got two AG tires with it but the rims are painted funny. I am pleased with the tractor and the price I gave for it. Not a lot to do to it but set it up with the sleeve hitch. Thank for looking. Doug

5 pointsOn our way up to the Plainfield show! Looking forward to seeing my local circle buddies and hopefully get to make a few rounds turning earth. We have Clyde (953) and dad’s newly reworked PP-10HD plow to test in the sandy soil with the new Land Wheel setup. Also have GhostRider, The Mule, and Grizzly. Looks like we are ready to do some plowing doesn’t it? Uncle Roger is driving and so I can relax and post! Usually it is me behind the steering wheel. I’ll try to get some video and pics. @Achto is there and so I’m sure he’ll take some pics as well as @WHX19 and @Rp.wh. I believe all those guys are camping there and so I’m Sure they'll Have a much more in depth report of the show...

5 pointsThis is probably silly but I was made very happy today. The new shed that I had planned on getting since January was finally installed, six weeks after ordering it. It almost didn't happen though due to the HOA that I now have to live under! They were upset with my submittal to them as it didn't have enough information. Also, even though the city was fine with partially encroaching on an underground drainage easement, the HOA wanted it out of the easement completely. The pad was done the other day before approval which also irritated them. Luckily common sense prevailed. Th trailer by Pine Hill is really neat as it can move sideways with the lateral set of tires underneath. It is a 10' x 16' shed with an 8' workbench and 4' loft at one end. I had to match the house color and, of course, architectural shingles. Now to landscape around it and load everything in to it! Especially the new-to-me 314-8. About two hours later the sky opened up with a quick thunderstorm to baptize it. There is an 18" culvert that dumps right there.Even though it looks close, the bottom is about a foot higher and six feet away from the water.

5 pointsPicked up this 310 the other day and was doing some PM's. Checked under the motor tins and wow, this one was pretty bad!

5 pointsHey guys! I'm sorry I wasn't on here for a long time.We couldn't remember what my password was for awhile also I was busy with life in general.Today I got to go with dad to a tractor show down on Plainfield WI.I was a little hesitant to go because I had a friend hanging out with us for the week. Now I'm really glad that I went,i got to see friends and talk with them we took some tractors along so we could plow down there. We took my grandfather, and my great uncle Roger too.We took our tractors clide, grizzly, the mule and more.We got to plow down at a field but it was not as big of a field as I thought it would be, but it was still fun none the less. We plowed for about an hour or two and had lots of fun.The ground was not as Sandy as it looked. We went back to where the other tractors were on display and we talked for a little while and then loaded everything up and headed back to the house.

5 pointsWell I had to get ready for my business trip but that went pretty fast. Had to deal with some car stuff but I got back just early enough that I decided I’d try and spray the red. That way it could cure for 4-6 days while I am away. Worst case, I’d have to take it down to metal and prime it again. Well it it looks like it may turn out ok.

5 pointsGot the new fuel pump in the mail yesterday and installed it in the 16 automatic. No more gas or oil leak any more, woo-hoo

5 pointsThese were the kind that the people in the trailer, take a fresh bag of “squeaky” cheese curds, dump them into a special pancake batter, then deep fry them, and serve them hot! That’s what I call fresh. They don’t compare to any other cheese curds that I’ve ever had—ANYWHERE other than Wisconsin... interesting collection of Homelite saws and lawn tractors! Uncle Roger found a tractor that was the same vintage as him—1958! I had never heard of Page Garden Tractors but these were made close to home in Milwaukee, WI Nice little show...wish I could’ve stayed to see Dan pull in the Tractor Show but we had to run and take care of some other stuff this afternoon. Can’t wait to hear the full report from Jim, Dan, and Ryan!

5 pointsclean the points and when you think they are clean them again, also check your wires in case something is grounding out

5 pointsI never give values, especially without at least seeing pictures. And it's hard to gauge a value of lawn tractors when conditions and situations can vary so much, things like location, season, market fluctuations, how much a seller wants to get rid of his tractor(s), and how much a buyer wants them. Tractors with decks go higher in early spring when grass begins to grow, and prices will fall late summer and fall. Tractors with snow removal attachments will go higher late fall into winter, but will plummet in spring and summer. Location has a lot to do with values as if there are a lot of lawn tractors on the market, prices will be lower, and vice versa if supply is limited. Bottom line, if you want to flip these, then you should come in at a low offer. If you want to keep them, or one or two, then your offer may increase a bit. A bit of caution here, it's hard to recoup your cost if you don't buy at the right price, and flipping tractors is a risk at best.

5 pointsPut the new motion lever knob on my 246H. It's an M67 frag grenade, inert of course. Just a little custom touch.
-
4 pointsSoil conditions weren’t great despite the fact that it was sandy. About 2-3” down it seemed like concrete. However, it was still fun plowing with my family and friends... Dad on Clyde. Jason (first time plow dog) did very well on his vintage MF. Great action shot here with Caleb on Grizzly, Dan behind him, and Jim in the back Jason and Jim...more updates to come...time to eat cheese curds!

4 pointsThank you Garry and jbelman that's what it was. I had cleaned them with emery cloth and thought it was good enough but clearly it wasn't. Dug out my very old points file and it worked. It's running. Old age isn't as much fun as I thought it would be. Reduced hand / eye coordination and a mind that isn't operating at full tilt. Thank you
-
4 pointsBest guess is the points are not making electrical contact when they are closed. That is what pulls the negative side of the coil to 0 volts because the stationary contact is grounded. Clean the contacts up and it should run. Garry
-
4 pointsMy take on this is that you would be better off to figure out what you want and find one close to home. The chances of recouping the $ 400 travel money and the value of two days of your life by selling some undesirable models is slim to none. If you find one close to home and it isn't as good as the seller said it was you can make an offer and if they say no turn around and drive home, a few bucks wort of gas and an hour of your time gone. If you go on a major trip and are disappointed what kind of bargaining power do you have to lower the price?
-
3 pointsI have a K91 on a WH 400 that does not have spark. If I don't have time to get to it, would anyone be interested in checking it out if I bring it? I have new points, condenser, and a coil, will have a new plug in it. Have not changed points or coil on one of these before so could use a hand! Will be in Chambersburg Wednesday evening at Comfort Inn and camping at the show.

3 pointsThis did the trick. Can’t thank you enough for aiding me in my troubleshooting! The float must have been off since I bought it and only got worse when I replaced the needle and seat the other day. Over the past few months I’ve constantly been tweaking the carb and it was much stinkier before. Running very smoothly now and I’ll probably use much less fuel! Thanks again!

3 pointsGuess maybe I should. I am having these made instead of making them in my shop due to the tiny fiber threading on the edge of the banner material building up on my machines print heads and carriage assembly which causes problems. My machine is going on 12 years of service now and I am hoping to make it last as long as I do. LOL Plus the company that wholesales them for me can finish them with welded hems which sharply reduces edge curl. I am bringing 4 different 1 x 3 foot banners that will be $15 at the show so if I order 10 of these 2 x 4 along with the larger quantity of 1 x 3 ft banners I can do them for $20 for the Support members who might want one? If any more of you that ordered trading cards want the 2x4 foot banner with all the cards printed as shown let me know. Will know Monday how many I need to order. I Will be placing my order Monday afternoon to make sure they are here in plenty of time. 1. 953nut 2. Squonk 3. JPWH 4. ELCAMINO/WHEEL HORSE 5. WALLFISH 6. Stevebo 7. 8. 9. 10.

3 pointsBeautiful! You might find that those ag’s/rims hit your fuel tank. The offset looks wrong to me.

3 pointsUnfortunately, the WHCC decided to create a new website. Though they may have attempted to contact me in advance, I was unaware of the change until after the fact. The old site is for sale, but now redirects to the new site.

3 pointsThis is a video I did to explain how to rebuild one of these 4 screw fuel pumps. It's not very long, but it may help someone that is a little reluctant to do the job at home. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I noticed something that I left out, and that has to do with the pumps that use a 6 screw top cover. If your pump has that, when you order a kit, make sure to mention that fact.

3 pointsWhen it comes to the there are exceptions to every rule. For example, the 953 was a 9.6 HP 9 electric start 5 built in '63 3; the 1054 was a 10 HP 10 electric start 5 built in '64 4; then in 1965 they were bringing out a new model with a 10 HP engine 10 electric start 5 built in '65 5 to be known as a 1055. but the 1054 was also being produced with slight modifications which according to the rules should have been a 1055; so it was named the 1054A As soon as you have figured out all the rules there will be an exception to trip you up!

2 pointsWe’ll have a tech session before dinner if you are there early enough. If not we can have a late night wrench session after dinner if we don’t all fall asleep. I’m staying at the same place.

2 pointsI got bored today while waiting for my onan rings, decarb gasket set and carb rebuild. I guess I’ll clean it up, put the electric lift and do some other required repairs. It’s in remarkable shape. It’s always better to start off at the bottom and work up.

2 pointsWell I have to travel out of town on business this coming week which puts my projects a significant risk of being even more incomplete than was already the case. The paint decided to react poorly with the original paint sprayed on approximately 3 years ago. So I had to take it back down to the metal which I could not get to until this afternoon. Not sure if weather will be optimal upon return from my business trip to get the finish paint on it. Got it primed today and i consider that a big win considering life’s challenges these days.

2 pointsA coffee can or paint can works. Maybe put one on each spindle to keep the deck level on a hard surface...garage floor. Back off the top nut a couple turns. If it has a grease zerk..remove it. Use a hardwood or brass block against the end of the shaft. With some man-balls, WHACK that block with a BGH...don't be bashful. The shaft should break loose of the pulley, then take off the nut....presto.
-
2 pointsExcuse my manners but I forgot to thank everyone for their help. I bought the bearings at NAPA. They were pricier than the kit on ebay but not too bad. I had new brushes from when an electrician from work had rebuilt the one on my 856. Now the bad news. While carrying the generator from the bench to the tractor, I stumbled over the dog and dropped it. Busted the cast iron mounting bracket. I not only exhausted my extensive vocabulary of swear words, I think I invented a few new ones. Checking into getting a copyright on them. Anyhow...... I had one with a bad armature so by swapping some pieces parts around I have a generator on the tractor that seems to work. Thank you.

2 pointsI broke a lot of bits trying that on the side parking brake knob on a 520H. I finally saw a post from someone about roll pin punches. Not being a mechanic, I never knew there was a difference. Some Kroil, time, and a set of roll pin punches, and it popped right out

2 pointsI could not deal with a HOA. And how do they enforce the fines? What do they do if you tell them to take a hike? My town says I can only build a shed up to a certain size (10 x 12 maybe?), but I can build a barn to store my agricultural equipment with no permit, and no size restrictions that I can find. If I can ever get my wife to part with a couple of dollars, I plan to build a nice pole barn. I think the wife is a bigger obstacle than the town, that woman is cheap!
-
2 pointsThanks for the responses... Just to clarify, im interested in the deal mostly for the 520xi and the seemingly rare 2 stage snowblower. And the only reason for the hotel stay is because of the wife. Lol

2 pointsI've never had to get a hotel room to buy a tractor. In my mind if you really want them, $1500 bucks. top dollar. keep in mind you haven't seem those machines in person. 953's advice is pretty sound.

2 pointsIm gonna list my 1981 d160 but have no idea what I should ask, can anyone give me a ball park on what I should ask? Has onan motor that runs great and comes with rototiller and disk and plow
-
2 pointsYou will probably need to heat it to break the bond the rust has formed, while it is hot melt a little candle wax on it so it will get down in the hole and help lubricate it.
-
2 pointsI think I better bring some more Horse-A-Holic stickers for many of you. Jim you absolutely qualify.
