4 pointsI was Inspired by this thread. Mom came down to visit and go to the boy's graduation Friday. So, I put mom on a horse and took her through the woods. She had probably not been in the part of the property since she and dad lived here in the 70s.

4 pointsPut in fresh fuel and charged the battery on my new B80. Off she went! Runs great, expect her to be for sale in a few days. I also put a new fuel pump and charged the battery on my 312-8. Smoothest, best running tractor I've ever had. Gonna keep it and out it to work😁.

4 pointsMy question is if he is trying to sell it, why wouldn't he just drain the oil and refill it with the proper amount? If that's the reason it's smoking .
-
3 pointsOk, just hit the back of the truck. Lots of supplies and tools and some more nice horse parts. Gonna keep the inside weights. Lots of manuals for wheel horse, Pennsylvania Panzer, Simplicity, Case, Ford, etc... Gt14 double pulley, 701 double pulley, lots of mule drives, etc...

3 pointsYup you let the Genie out! At least this Genie can be replaced as opposed to the Genie in an electrical item. His name is Lucas. I burnt out that brg. a few yrs ago. No noise. Smelled like Barb B Q. I keep a spare bell around for such occasions. Replace the brg. when I have time. # 204RR6

3 pointsI know this probably do not belong here in general Wheel Horse talk, but I posted it here anyways. Grownups may move it if deemed appropriate, but this is my reasoning. If I post this in the shipping/transport section only few will see it. Putting it here exposes it to many more, and that will perhaps spark an idea, or open a possibility that otherwise did not exist for some of our non US members. And perhaps also make some awareness among our US members of what this is all about I am, as I did last year, sending a container across the pond to EU land. I can therefor offer our forum members an easy and affordable solution to get things from the US to EU territory, without the hassle and headaches. I close the option to get large items like tractors, bikes, atv's, cars, boats, wifes etc. on July 1. Smaller items like implements and spare parts can be accommodated until app. September 1. Container will land in Denmark some time around Christmas, and further shipping from there can be arranged. If anyone wants to take advantage of this offer, please contact me via PM or here in this thread. I will do my best to answer any questions you may have. Regards Thomas

3 pointsThanks to A&Z Tractor for having the correct steering wheel for my 73 16 Automatic. Installed it tonight after getting home from work. Went splendidly the one that was on the tractor came off without problem. And after a bit of cleaning everything went together easily. Even had the center cap and that was in great condition.

3 pointsWOW, those are nice. Guess I will need to make it to the BIG SHOW.

2 pointsThey made a blower that fit on the Ranger's which were only 6hp. I don't think that you will have any trouble running one with a 10hp. Unless you want an excuse to buy another tractor, then don't disclose the above info to your significant other.

2 pointsNeeding a RJ lift handle (for my 59), These are for a custom I’m wanting to build-10” five bolt rims, set of stirrup footrest, lawnranger 6” rims . I’m sure there’s more and I’ve got a lot of RJ and round hood parts and different attachments I need to unload myself.

2 pointsMy wife drove the 502 and was pulling something heavy in our washed out gravel drive at the old house, she was spinning tires so I hopped onto the hitch to give her some traction... and it reared right up in the air. I reacted by jumping back, pushing the tractor back down and all was well. She hasn't had any urge to drive my tractors since! I guess that's why she owns that AC WD45 now, and I still play [work] with the .

2 pointsJust be aware that boring these axles out requires a lot of skill and practice if you're going to do this by hand - the best method is with a milling machine or a very heavy duty drill press. Some of the axles I've rebuilt have had a very large amount of wear - those must be corrected before the job is complete to keep the steering geometry correct. Otherwise, the wheels end up with some nasty camber and it will show - not to mention wear the tires quickly. Once you go with bronze or brass bushings it makes the axle rebuildable much easier and will prolong its lifespan - there is no reason to toss a worn axle since they can be repaired. Only so many parts left out there, we need to save all we can or eventually, the hobby will die off. Sarge

2 pointsBering overfilled with oil could be a condition or a symptom. If it was an error where too much oil was added then an oil change will rectify the situation. If the oil level is high because of a carburetor leak and the gas has diluted the oil then there could be all sort of damage done to the engine. If the oil has any gas smell at all then just walk away.

2 pointsIf you have play in the spindles, you really only have tree options. 1. live with it. 2. find a front axle with no slip. 3. ream out the axle and insert bushings, perhaps with new spindles as they also get worn when the axle starts to go.

2 pointsIn my child hood days we had a 604 that I mowed with. Drove it into the barn and wanted to turn it around and back in to it's stall. (It was an old horse carriage barn... how ironic) My sister's bike was right in front of me. 24" Hd WesternFlyer with the fenders ect. Weighed a ton. . It was leaning against an old horse corral.Thought I was in reverse but was in 3rd. Drove that tractor right up on that bike. Sister was screaming. I pushed the clutch in and rolled of. Shifted into reverse, or so I thought I did. Nope 3rd again and back up on the bike. More screaming! Did this like five times before I realized what was causing all of this. Didn't faze that bike at all! sister went to college and that bike was still there. My friends and I decided to have a bike demo derby 1 day. Guess who won! I rode that bike home with twisted fenders and bent wheels. The buzz bikes went home in pieces to questioning parents.

2 pointsThe last time my wife drove a I was gathering up rocks and stones from the yard and putting them in a dump cart. Wife asked what I was going to do with them and told her I would dump them at the edge of the small creek that runs through our property. She wanted to drive the 953 so I talked her through backing up the dump cart and pulling the handle. She did great, then she looked forward without shifting into a forward gear and let the clutch out for a second. The cart and rear tires were in the creek, she shut it off and climbed over the hood insinuating I had let her do that intentionally. I started it up and it drove right out, none the worse for the wear. Wish I had a camera with me!

1 pointMore food for thought. Here in Maine there's been reported cases of Lyme with NO BULLSEYE. Also, there's a woman reporting on a news website that claims she's been tested FOUR times... All Negative. And has Lyme. Please be mindful everyone. My honey and I have been very careful and so far test negative. We hope it stays that way.

1 pointWell that's not too serious. Funny you couldn't hear or feel that one going out. Note the alternative part numbers in this thread. I would clean and regrease the needle bearing while I had it apart ... replace the seal as well. Seal is at NAPA also, have them cross a Victor 53104.

1 pointI like Bob's idea of welding a nut on it . Might be some other suggestions here too.
-
1 pointwell after looking at the down load you provided, i have to go look. I was mowing and just lost all belt power and the pto was engaged but just not spinning the belt. It should be cooled off i am going out to take it apart . stand by for pictures
-
1 pointI've heard from others to take a nut and weld it in the center to the broken stud. The heat will help brake it loose and the nut head will turn out. Drilling and a easy out is the other way but I have broken a easy out on those before.

1 pointGlad you guys are ok. Crazy weather down here too. Rains, pours, quits, rains, pours, quits. Got pretty windy yesterday and I believe there were a couple smaller tornadoes off the east coast. More rain today and all week as a matter of fact and then “Hurricane Season” ...... just what we need. Be safe people👍

1 pointPerfect Photos, showed me exactly what I needed to see. Thanks a bunch

1 pointPull the spindle and clean it out, then you get a better idea of the wear. Yes it has been done, and if you search you will find a thread about it. I will see if I can locate it in a bit Here is ONE thread about it. You can find more.: You should be aware that they were not absolutely play free from new. Dont rule them dead because of a little play, but of cause they will be better and last longer with no play

1 point@bmsgaffer This is the fan I am hoping to use. I have an oil filter wrench that I am turning down for a hub to fit inside the fan. Going to cut out the center of the fan so the fan slides over the pulley snout and then I will epoxy the “hub” inside the fan to make it all one piece. The bolt will go through the center and rest on the pulley snout like the original. Crossing my fingers

1 pointSo I have a leg injury that’s keeping me outa work for a few days and out of a tractor seat . Had to get my son to get one of my tractors into mowing mode yesterday and today my 76 year old father is mowing my yard while I watch. He tags along to the WH Show with me but has no interest, just love going on “adventures”. His mower at home is a JD STX38, one of the littlest ride ons JD makes. This is his first time ever driving one of my Wheel Horses.

1 pointjust prior to getting my other knee replaced, I was suddenly covered with circular body rashes, dr check, immediately stopped my upcoming operation and verified Lyme disease . put me back a month for operation, in all the years I have been crashing brush /woods I never got Lyme. needless to say I cover up with a more conscious view of the tick situation . you can't live in a bubble . but you can protect your self better. lets be careful out there, pete

1 pointOk, the nicer of the 754s has Cecil Pond's signature on the gas tank. Problem is that a lot of the signature has faded over the years from not being clear coated. Should I clear coat it to try to preserve what is left or is it too far gone? Also, who else signed the tank below Mr. Pond?

1 pointHere are a few shots of the things I had on the trailer. One thing I'm not sure about is the sweeper. I know it's incomplete, but the model says R32. Sounds like a wheel horse number, but it's not labeled wheel horse. Any ideas?
-
1 pointThat seems to be the key. Your airflow bath needs to be open, adding another fan wouldn't do any good if the path isn't open.

1 pointAs Neil pointed out I work 230 miles away from home all week so progress has been slow the last two weeks. Also got roped into some home improvement work by the missus Anyway, managed another few hours tonight... That's the other half of the pivot finished :D
