11 pointsStrong winds last evening broke the top 20ft of a pine tree in the back yard. Wanted to use the 310-8 to pull it out of the yard. Was too much for her even with Ags 10 pinion and better half standing on the hitch we just tore up the turf. Had to get one of her bigger friends out (1951 Case VAC). She hadn't been started since last Oct. fired right up and pulled the tree top a quarter mile away.

9 pointsSpoke to Howard (857horse) this evening and got the OK to pass this on. As you know he hasn't been on in a while. He has lost a good bit of sight in one eye and it's hard to see the computer. He's still working and in good spirits. Can't drive at night. Will find out the week before the big show if he's a candidate for an operation. If so full recovery is possible. Still planning on being at the show. Terry @Vinylguy, Howard said he'd like to get in on your offer and wondered if you could use a picture on here. Hopefully not one of him sleeping. Told him we're all wishing him full recovery and see him at the show... Jay

8 pointsHOWARD GET WELL SOON ! SO WE CAN’T EVEN USE THE FAMOUS SLEEPING PIC FOR THE BACK OF THE CARD....

7 pointsSo I got the 8hp No Name up and running, and pulled it out of the workshop. Surprise, surprise, Henry found it! I think he has claimed this one too. This is going to be a tough sell for Momma!

6 pointsBefore and After. It was all worth it. It's like running a new Tractor. When we moved to the country in 1993 there was a Stihl dealer in Town that also sold New Wheelhorse's, I would go in there for Chainsaw parts I would look at the Horse's but at that time couldn't afford one. Now that I could afford one ,out of business. I did the next best thing. I finally have a New one !

5 pointsHey guys we were following someone Home who bought a tractor from Dad. Passed a little WH with free sign. After unloading we stopping and grabbed it. Rear tires leak badly and are being swapped now. Looks like a little nice mower. Little brother to the D180.

5 pointsHowdy, I’ve been lurking for a few days since I bought the 315 in the picture. I’ve owned a couple of other Horses over the years but this is the nicest one. I don’t have a yard large enough to justify it but I couldn’t resist at 200.00. A little about me. I’m a Navy vet (71-79), a retired mechanic/water meter tech., I even worked at a Wheel Horse dealer in the late 80’s. I collect old tools and engines. As a result I have too many of both. The Wheel Horse runs and mows good but needs a few cosmetics. Like I said, I can’t justify it but I love having it. Jim ,

5 pointsFound this 516H on C/L yesterday.I know,I know, before everyone knocks the Onan engine and the 700 Eaton transmission,I didn't have a 516H and thought it would be a welcome horse to my collection.Didn't need it..........I WANTED it.Plus,it wasn't a lot of money.Haven't checked it over yet.Trying to get it to roll.Damn hydro transmissions.Any ideas on how to get it to roll??Hopefully can get it running in a day or so.Got the ugly boat seat off it already. It won't be going back on.Enjoy the pics.

5 pointsRebuilt a Wheel Horse seat my sister helped save w ith new black upholstry vinyl, repainted a bunch of RJ and Suburban Wheel Horse clutch parts, wanted to get my RJ transmssion on the RJ frame today but found a problem with the brake shaft not tur ning and had to contact Stevesaurus for some advice. I was gettting ready to put the new oil seals in the brake and drive sfates (the big oiil seals) and then fill with fluid. But I did a check on axles, drive sfat and brake first. Good thin I did. Steve says I need to take a look at teh way the muchroom gear at teh bottom of the brake sfat goes into the bearing and how high the bearing sits in the bearing race. It is bound up tight and needs to move freely . Will get to that tomorrow! I have anoterh RJ transmssion that is unpainted but operates well. However, I have not taken a look inside it yet. Two other ones I have need major work and may not have 100% surviial !

5 pointsGood luck Howard. See you at the show! Hmmm, wonder why he thought that would happen?
-
5 pointsPicked these up earlier this week. A Briggs WI, k91 with oil bath and shower head and a k19T. Also a nice sickle mower.
-
5 pointsI'll try to dig it out this weekend Mike, though there's a lot going on here too. Just bustin' your stones buddy.

4 pointsHoward, I pray that the surgery will go well and you will be restored to proper vision. The best advice a doctor can give after surgery is to rest the body part that has been operated on. We all know you are well qualified to rest your eyes. Get Well Howard!

4 pointsMore pics from today. Mr. Bob Rentzel with his working JD plow tractor. With Cullan Swartz at the wheel. More of Bob's collection of pedal tractors. Pullers A few old Wheel Horses and owners.

4 pointsPlenty of scars on this dog. Just don’t know how many are honorable.
-
4 pointsDon't give up yet Richie. Even if you don't get it finished, bring it on. We'd all love to see your work!
-
4 pointsBeen there done that! I've got a Pontiac shaped emblem on my right knee from the same thing. Just another battle scar to add to the list. Before long my whole body is going to need a makeover like one of our horses! It's just a little tired, but I've got several miles left under my belt!

4 pointsResurrected a couple horses from their winter hibernation... both popped off with just a turn of the key. Then, did a little mowing with the C-160... and, a little posing with the 1056.

4 pointsIt’s been a long time coming, I get ideas but it’s just a matter of making the time to make them work. so I’ve often found hauling things I needed more weight up front. A couple years again a neighbor gave me 3 bars of solid cold rolled steel about 3-1/2” in diameter. They were used in a salt water environment and I believe they were weights of some type for lobster pots or drag lines....can’t recall. The quick attach mount was acquired via a bay seller whom happens to be local and fabs several different types of hitches. The bar pictured is the smallest and in total weighs about 60lbs. My only regret is not being persistent enough with another buddy to get it turned down a bit to remove all the pitting. Welded on the 2” square tube adapter last weekend, followed by a coat of self etching primer, black rustoleum truck bed liner then several top coats of rustoleum regal red. I applied a 3m reflective tape which I may regret due to the pitting and non smooth surface, we’ll see if it lasts. Hopefully if it peels it doesn’t take the paint with it. Alternatively it can be moved to the rear for when additional traction is needed. So now what to do with the other 3 bars....

3 pointsJust picked up a 2002 520xi w/ 52 in deck and 198.7 hours on the clock. Came with a snow blower. Blower has set outside and is faded and ugly but is all there. Original owner passed away and his heirs didn’t want this so they sold it to a Deere dealership about 1 hr 45 mins from me. Needed blades and still needs cleaned up. I have a 72 inch ztr but have been looking for one of the 5xi series for a little bit. Wanted one when they came out but couldn’t afford one. Was mowing 2.5 acres with a 1974 C160 that was bought new by my dad. Story for a different time. Snow blower will be for sale or trade (almost prefer trade)

3 pointsWell, I was unloading a customer at work today and after we were finished, he asked me if we would take some wheel weights. My boss said sure why not and those shortly got unloaded also. After a quick inspection and a conversation with my boss these show up in my stable for free. The bathroom scale shows that they weigh 50 pounds apiece and they do not have numbers on them. Does any one that owns a set of these mind posting the numbers? -Tractor boy

3 pointsI go on Google Map often, do the satellite view, and go searching for Naval Yards. San Diego, Norfolk and others. Almost any large city from any country has a port you can zoom in on. Try Petropavlask (sp) or the Polyony Inlet. Excellent way to spend an afternoon. You would be surprised how many flat tops, ships and subs you can zoom in on. Scroll around the Black Sea sometime, or find Adak, Alaska

3 pointsThere's a rule in the world of dog shows Ritchie. ...if a dog has a scar it cannot be considered in judging if it's an honorable scar..... just sayin...
-
3 pointsHoward had mentioned to me a little while ago about his issue. I got a new phone and lost his # . Was going to call him. didn't know if he could even see a screen well enough to use FB. Sure wouldn't be the same without him. Here's to you Howwwaaarrrdddd!!!!

3 pointsThere’s a cat on eBay that sells front receiver hitches. I had some scrap angle and box laying around that I made into a front weight bracket. I made it large enough to hold two 42 pound weights. I use it to counterbalance my sprayer which I use on the back of my tractor and it works pretty well.

3 pointsWould be tough to coordinate a re-enactment of planes attacking I bet. They would definitely have to put guys in the air traffic tower! I’ve been coming here for work for 18 years now and for the first 10 this tower was left alone. Had bullet holes from the Pearl Harbor attack and patina from age. Maybe 8-10 years ago it was restored. Looks great and all but it was only original once 🙁. Snapped these on my way home tonight. What do ya think about those clouds!!

2 pointsThat's about what my experience has been. I've been careful to select the best deal and parts with good reviews whenever I can.

2 pointsIf it helps any, I have a spare coil and VR I can send you. If it doesn't fix it you can give them back to me at the show. I'd come down but looks like every weekend is pretty much booked up until the show

2 pointsThey all are ...even the ones from the frying pan & rolling pin!
-
2 pointsOn the opposit side of the tension pulley check the spring pin holding the clutch lever to the same shaft. Had one shear off on my loader tractor. Sometimes it would work and sometimes not. Gave me a fit 'till I stumbled on to it...
-
2 pointsRichie. Blood sacrifice is not a literal requirement for restoration projects. We all imply it but try not to practice it!!! Bandage and scar or are you gonna need stitches?
