    Yesterday I posted a humorous article on the Square. It generated a lot of funny comments, but was taken down because one person posted an inappropriate response. Out Moderators do a great job of keeping this a family friendly site for all of us to enjoy. Please, if you have an ethnic, political or disturbing reply you are dying to share with the world find an appropriate web site and have at it! RedSquare is not the site for that type of trash.

    Richard, Good post. First off, we have a Joke's section, so if a post or thread can be place in that venue, please do. Just remember, even in that section, political, ethnic, and religious comments are forbidden. Second, we all have our political views, our religious beliefs, and we all have opinions on things. But, they're your own personal views and beliefs, and rather we believe it or not, not all members are going to share your opinions and views. So please keep your political and religious opinions and views to yourself, and please no ethnic or racial slurs. If you have to share your opinons, then share it with friends and families on facebook and other social type medias, or try the old fashioned way, through face to face conversations, phone calls and emails. Keep it off the site. I have my own strong personal views, but they probably won't agree with everyone here, so I keep them to myself.

    Okay...I have a friend who is a honcho at a local power tool rental shop and he called me this morning to offer me this hydraulic hose crimper. It's an oldie for sure (he says it was there when he started 28 years ago). Anyway, I'm not about to pass up a freebie such as this, so here 'tis. It's a bench mount, but unfortunately I don't have room on either bench at the moment. There might not be much of a cost saving factor here because of my cost for hose and fittings, but I have to check it out.

    Here are a few things I'm looking at obtaining. I don't need any of these, but when has that stopped any of us. A C-161 Twin Automatic, a cab and a 42 inch snow blower. Cab and snow blower are from the same seller, the C-161 Twin is from a different guy. Do I need these, not really, but........

    Wow comes to mind, I kinda like the two key thing, maybe the po used to work in a missile silo, , (don't turn both keys to "start" ) lol. Personally, I would've snot welded a pair of ape hangers on it instead of "that" steering wheel. All kidding aside, she doesn't look that bad, just needs a little love! I also live in SW Michigan, hello neighbor!

    This is my first post on the forum. I am about to do my first lawn tractor build. My dad picked up this ltitle Wheel Horse for my kids around 6 years ago, he never done anything with it. A little over 2 years ago he died. It has been setting there by his barn reminding me of him and his purpose for having it. Today I picked it up and brought it home to my workshop and started disassembly on it.

    Many of you know about our move back to our home state of Indiana. Well, the closing date has been set for March 10th. I just found out yesterday that the seller is going to leave these two items. There's a lot to mow and I actually thing the seller is trying to do me a favor. She doesn't know that I have real tractors The Agri-Fab will probably get some red paint and I'll just use the trailer to haul the grandkids around. I can see that the mower has an 18.5 hp Kohler Magnum twin and a 46" deck. Does anybody know the model? On my trip up to close I've got a cargo trailer reserved and I'll be bringing my Wheel Horses up. The plan is to leave them up there along with my truck and fly back here. We will then have a semi trailer sitting in the drive to haul everything else. Once we close on this place my wife and I will come back up in her car. When I unload my tractors I'll be sure to keep them as far away as possible from this thing.

    Hi friends good to talk to you all. Today I brought home what I think to be a C 121 today, and wow the amount of "cheap" fixing is staggering. I will explan some but I also have pics don't worry. First pic there are two key switches in the dash and neither work the gentleman had a piece of wire to jump from battery to starter you can see it hanging on the pto lever. The second pic will show two different size tires on the front with mismatch rims. The double muffler speaks for itself, well the list goes on and on i will show you all the pics and let you have fun spotting all the great engineering don't be shy pick it apart. With that said the motor runs like a Swiss watch and the transmission works goog.

    Holy cow! I didn't notice the dates from the previous posts. Back to the grind! I used Rustoleum Regal Red and hardener, cut with acetone and it came out nice. Just to see how it would wear, I painted my mailbox last June or July. It still looks brand new. The before and after. Keep up the good work!

    I like the idea of having the crane in front as viewing the load is a lot easier. The issue with mounting in front is, I am assuming, the mounting point would be the front Attach-A-Matic. That is not as strong as mine on the rear using the 2" receiver hitch. If balance is a problem, just hang weight on the front.

    Well guys I started on the 1054 the body seams to be in really good shape. I got the new front tire on, it came with 1 new tire and rim but I have to pull it back off. As I was trying to mount the tire I used silicone spray and it messed up the paint that I sprayed on the rim. I made a new seat and backrest for it. I had to buy a industrial sewing machine but they came out really good. I wanted to make it red like @Martin did, I really like what he did to his. Mine won't come close to his but it will be a lot nicer then what it looks now. @Lane Ranger made his like the original white/black . The seat needs the wood wedge cut from a 2/4 and the padding added but its ready for mouning after I clean and paint the seat frame. All the sewing is done.

    The 1st tank is the style used on the early vertical shaft tractors...i.e. Charger V8, Commando V7, etc. Looks like a later replacement as the original ones were red.

    The tractors, well and the kids. I still get to visit em all, but don't have to feed any of em. I will still be called on for servicing the tractors, I'm sure. But that's okay too!

    i just got rid of my workhorse gt1642. when i got it had no engine. i put a 12hp kohler on it from a c-125. i will tell you this. if you plan on putting a 18hp briggs on it look for a belt guard off a workhorse gt1642 has they are different from what is on your machine now

    This will be an add on tip to Sarge's.....I've used the same trick, minus the high-tech tooling, as all I have is a Dremel*. But sharp, name brand screwdrivers are a MUST on this type of work, not the 3/$1.00 rubbish. I use Snap-On* as I have boxes of them. And I will grind down the sides to fit inside a carb well if necessary, when working on Main Jets. Others have suggested using Gun-Smithing screwdrivers, as they have the strength to do such work. Again, this is a tip, more for the inexperienced than the posters that have already been successful. GLuck, Jay

    It depends on what you are cutting, how level the ground is etc.. The 300 series brochure says 36" RD/37" SD, but others may have differing opinions on what they can power with their 8hp horses. Oh, about your location. We quite frequently go out to Deep Creek Lake. We've been known to take side trips up to Ohiopyle. Visited Falling Waters in summer of '14. Beautiful part of the country.

    Will guess it is a 5134 rear axle quick hitch for a BD-4264 or BD-4264A dozer blade. Both photos are looking at it from the rear of the tractor with it being upside down in the first photo. It mounts on the front of the rear axle housings. Garry

    WELL here it is a 1054 that I spoke of in my other post ( 701 or 702 ) I FIND OUT WHEN SOMEONE SAYS COMPLEAT IT'S ALWAYS MISSING SOMETHING. All in all I think I did really good on this one, I just didn't want a project in winter with out a heated garage. But I think I did ok. a great spring project. The only thing is I got rear tires and 1 front new tire and a rim. NO BEARINGS AND SEAL OR NUT FOR FRONT WHEELS. I need to get tires on this so I can move it around in my already full garage. I've got a 3 car garage and 4 horse's a cub and a 4 wheeler in there already this will make it 5 horse's in garage and 2 parts tractors in back of garage. So I have to assemble this 1054 to move it in garage. It has a 12 hp kohler and not the 10hp that's supposed to be there and from serial number on engine its a 78 ???. This is what I need to know now does anyone know what the number is for the bearings and seals on front wheels are. I can put axle on and engine for now but I need those front wheels on now.

    Just last week. A trip to Missouri for a loader and came back with a tractor, 3-point blade and a deck to boot.... Too my astonishment...No questions. I must have worn her down! 6 in the shop and 2 I restored for my kids in the last year. I hated to see them go, but I needed the space!

    I doubt it will fit but compare the illustrated parts lists to see if any of the major parts are compatible with both. There is also a model 79310 which is for a 48" deck and a model 79451 Quiet Collector for the 5xi models. Adding Looks like the 268-H bagger was a model 79202 used with a 38" deck or 79203 used with the 42" and 48" decks. Garry

    @daveoman1966 should be renamed "Easy Button" Nice! I'd like to see the how the backhoe attaches. I have a loader but am curious what to look for in a backhoe and if it uses the same hydraulic pump as the loader. Thanks!

    i am looking for 4-19 part number 101696. The inside where the axle goes through is a bit chewed up where it twisted. i second guessed trying to smooth it up but i'd much rather have new/like new. i'm not positive how much it would mess with the tolerances. thank you! @daveoman1966

    http://www.agriguardcoatings.com/home.html The rust coater is the product for decks. I get them clean with we-adhering rust and coat them with a chip brush. Wear gloves because it will NOT come off your skin. The stuff cures in the presence of moisture in the air, but very high humidity can make it bubble a bit After the stuff cured for two days, a wire brush mounted in a drill barely reduced the gloss. There are two price points for the product with the black product being cheaper as it is not rated for direct sunlight. I did a good job prepping to tight rust and then washed off all the dust and debris. Bonds and covers well and dries hard and shiny Very impressive for the price. Rural King sells it , for 19 bucks a quart and 29 bucks for the UV stabilized version It sounds very similar to the airboat paint mentioned above.

    Found a single stage and blade on Craig's list last year. The blower was in mint condition and just needed geased basically. The blade was in typical condition and just needed a weld and paint job.

    There are probably 2 notable issues with the "Big D" line-up -- The Sundstrand hydro drive and the steering box. with the tranny being the biggest. And I'm sure you know about other typical things to check --- The drive is very beefy and is a good unit --- when its not worn! and with the ages of these models they can be just that, worn. If the tractor runs/drives butt it up against a tree and apply power and see if the wheels will throw a rooster tail of dirt - check reverse for good movement. Parts for it are getting more and more scarce for them and repair is quite an undertaking, but there are lots of info and help for that here on the forum. The steering is prone to get a lot of slop in the box and even blow out the steer box (its called a Ross box) While a bit of a pain to remove, the repair is relatively simple. Theres a bit of a love/hate for the D's Some love them (me) and some think they are the ugliest of the horses! I have 3 of them and would fight a bear if somebody tries to take em away!!

I found the crossover numbers. inner bearing (cone bearing)...#3370...timkin #LM 11949 outer bearing (cup bearing) ....#3371...timkin #LM 11910 seal..........................................#3373...national #204005 These are Wheel Horse numbers...I don't know what any cross reference numbers would be. Here is the Manual. Edit...found the numbers...

    It's not hard to open up the trans I did it and never had any experience on a wheel horse tractor at all. There is help here that you would never get anywhere else. All the experts you'll ever need. And one is @daveoman1966 ,and the other is @pfrederi .I know there are others but I had help here and did all my own work on my sundstrand. I have a C160 and probably the same trans. I had to open it up and fix a axle coming out. Read all the posts in search box on sundstrand and you will get a wealth of knowledge. My post is c160 axle coming out. I know one side has to come off first but I can't remember witch.there are manuals here for your tractor and trans .it not hard to open it but take pictures to help you reassemble. It sure helped me. The axles are held in by a c clip but the differential must but removed to get to them. It's all in the manual. And if you become a supporter of red square you can post all the pictures you want for help. I did and it's well worth it. The guys here are great for helping you and me .
