I just finished adding some LED lights. I installed one front, one rear. I got the pair of lights off E-bay for $15. I mounted them with large magnets from TSC and wired them with connectors so they can easily be removed in the summer.I think the single light on the hood puts out more light than the stock head lamps.

It's not a C-125. C-125 is a black hood. Looks like a C-120. I'd go prepared to pay $200, but start with a lower offer. Just my 2 cents worth.

Hey guys, Have'nt been down to look at this yet but seems like a pretty good deal for $200. owner says won't start and has been sitting for awhile but motor turns over fine.Probably needs a carb kit. Says Deck has few holes but Tractor is in great shape. It's a C-125............

Anyone have any info on any rjs that where painted yellow from factory? I am sure this has came up a time or 2.

Its not a C-125....maybe a C120?? But for $200 it looks like a good deal, any room to negotiate? Mike..........

Wound up totally submerged in a pond on Super Bowl Sunday? Now there's a story worth hearing! Who done it?

I dont like to use tape once when painting then throw it away! When doing anything round,, axles, spindles, etc. I have pvc in different lenghts and diameters. Just slip over, put c-clip back on to hold it and paint. I use them over and over. No waste but son still says I'm just cheap!!

Brinly.com , still sells parts for these plows such as the coulter wheel and "U" clamp that holds it to the frame, now the slot hitch part that bolts in place of the clevis three hole other guys on here may be able to help you there whether having one for sale or ways to make it yourself, or our vendors section "wheelhorseman 1000" slot hitch to clevis hitch adapter,Jeff.

In addition to being addicted to WH tractors, I am addicted to this forum. Since it is a bit slow on tractors right now, maybe it is time to make a bit of fun at ourselves. Sometimes, we have been doing stuff for years and out of inspiration or necessity, we come up with a quick solution to a problem that we need to share with others. It can be WH related or not. I will give you a quick one or two you can use right away as an example. Do you always lose the little red tube thingys that come on carb cleaner aerosol cans? You can look on the internet and buy all kinds of pricey stuff to maintain them, but this works a treat. Save that coffee stir straw from Lowes and tape it to the can! put a few dents in the coffee straw with a fingernail, and I guarantee you that the red straw you need to direct the spray will not fall out of your free "aerosol directed spray straw device retainer" Or I guess that you could buy a patented device like this one----Read the entire patent {i dare you] https://www.google.com/patents/US6412671 I used to have to borrow red tubes from new cans of cleaner because so many got lost. Now I am gaining the tubes as I empty the cans. Utility knives are great things to have around, but the tips go dull in a hurry when cutting roof shingles. You could grind the tip off a bit on the dull side of the blade to expose a fresh tip, but that is not easy up on a roof. Just put the tip in your claw hammer or a little pliers that you carry and snap a bit of the blade off. Be careful not to put an eye out when snapping off blades

This one is a bit longer.. On a 833 Bobcat, there is a dip tube fuel line that fits down through the top of the fuel tank. There is a check valve on it that fails, but replacing that tube is something like 1.5 shop hours as it is buried underneath the hydraulic plumbing under the seat. I got the guys at Bobcat to show me shop drawings of that thing and the proceedure is designed by a mad scientist who hates mechanics and wants to cause physical pain to them. i noticed on the drawing that a new tank grommet and seal was available and went home to think........................................................................................... No way was I doing that repair, but $140 for them to do it was beyond my pay grade............................................................... Then, like a bus, it hit me. I bought the dip tube and fuel tank grommet, drilled a 13/16 hole in the top of the tank, ran a new fuel line to the fuel pump, and plugged the existing fuel line. So easy and obvious a solution that i am surprised that the Bobcat people did not suggest it

Another 'DUH' moment. Am I the only one who didn't realize that the plow blade edge is reversible? After spending $40 on a new blade edge, I took the old one off, looked at it, and realized that I could have just flipped it around to the top edge and saved $40. Jim

Getting the seat to stay up when checking or filling the gas tank on 300-500 models without all the proper hardware is a pain - I slipped a small length of 1/4" fuel line on one end of a 1/4" rod - 12 inches long - and bent a 90 on each end. Drilled a 1/4'" hole in the seat stand and stuck the rod thru the hole - used 1/4" locking collars on each side ot the hole, leaving the cushioned end to rest on the seat pan. Works great.

Tip. use a piece of cloth between the magnet and paint. keeps the scratches down. I mounted a winch switch on a magnet and it still sticks pretty well. I like the light idea. Just might copy.

The deestone 4.00x8 tri-ribs are really a great tire for the narrow front wheels. The "smallness" of the Deestone tires seems to be in the ag tires. My tractor has the 4.00x8 tri-ribs in the front and 23x10.5x12 Deestone ags in the back. The rears are really about a true 9.50 and work well on the 7 in. rims as a replacement for the 8.50 original tires.

would love to see a picture of that, maybe in another thread I'm thinking hard on this one, lotsa great uses in my shop, I'll get some pics of my shop tomorrow. Here's pics of my messy shop, This is my Christmas week off so I usually pull a lot of stuff out and do some rearranging. Pictures include my tractor table ( with soon to be 1654 8speed), Motor and transmission building station, blast cabinet, parts washer and parts and engine storage, my newly acquired Atlas lathe, drill press and more part storage, more shelving full of engines and transmissions. And after seeing the high lift motorcycle lift that @ohiofarmer has, sent me out tonight to pick one up. Thanks I see many possibilities with this newly acquired tool.

I'm a newbie to the Wheelhorse ownership. I just picked up a 314 Hydo with 276 hours on it here in Ohio. It came with a snow blade, mower deck, and snow blower. I was looking for a manual so that I can install the blade onto the machine. Also need to know what type of trans oil and other maintenance things, that is why I'm looking for a manual. Can anyone help me with this. Thanks again for allowing me to be part of this group. The little tractor is a beast I like it so much I drove it around my 20 acres just to get the feel for it. It will have a easy life with me for sure, mow about 1/2 acre of grass and maybe plow 300 foot of drive if we get enough snow. Thanks again Bill Rosselot

Projects like these are one of the main reasons why I bought the little machine.

What about "Take this job and shove it"? It had the original Bigfoot and USA-1 in it. Also since this is a tractor forum, how about " The Straight story" where a man named Alvin Straight drove his John Deere garden tractor some distance to see his ailing brother? That was just a great all around movie, no swearing, sex, violence or BS, just a cool true story.

I’ve got nobody to blame but myself. My daughter wanted to ice skate so I cleared a path to the pond which was over ¼ mile back off the road. I was just about done clearing the pond as my daughter watched and all of a sudden the rear of the tractor broke through. I was in the water about halfway up my chest and the tractor hung there by the front axle. i couldn't get back to the house and get the soaked Carharts off fast enough. There’s a small towing service in the one flashing light town of North Liberty. I called but had little hope that they were open. A guy did answer and I asked if he as open. He said no but he was just there to do some paperwork and answered the phone. Then he asked what I had. I told him and he said “I gotta see this”. He had to come in to the pond from a ridge at the back of my property. He couldn’t get real close but his winch cable was long enough. As he started winching in the tractor would start to pull up on the ice but then it broke through again and that’s when it was totally submerged. He continued pulling it and the same scenario occurred a couple more times. Finally he cleared the pond. He towed it out on the ridge and back to the pole barn. As we are looking at it in the barn I asked him what I owed. I was ready for a small fortune. “Aw, give me $40”. Of course the tractor was a cube of ice so I just had to wait for warmer weather. Once that happened I changed all the fluids and one part on the clutch that broke from pulling on the ice. She fired right up and she never thought twice about her experience. That was about 1990 so I used it some 10 more years spinning a 48” deck and pushing snow and that 11hp B&S just kept purring along. Sorry TravelinJavelin for sorta hijacking your thread but maybe that will ease your concerns about the Briggs motor. You asked about a Kohler fitting and the answer is yes. The left side will bolt to the frame and if you have an oil pan with the blind holes in the bottom two bolts will come up through the frame on the right side. If you don't have the blind holes you can use J-bolts hooked under the frame. It’s a very simple and straight forward swap.

That is exactly what my wife says..... often.............

I would buy it for 200, but the chain and the leaning deck make me cringe. It is asking for some cosmetic body damage. Otherwise, the paint looks great.

Good luck. You won't go wrong even at $200.00.

I bought a new GT-1100 off the showroom with no attachments for $850. Being a Kohler guy I figured that when the Briggs let go I'd slap a Kohler on it. I had an extra 48" deck that I put on it and I was amazed how well it handled it. That tractor gave me a new respect for Briggs motors. I had it 16 years before selling it to move down here. It never gave me a bit of trouble and even survived total submersion in a pond on a super bowl Sunday Than being said, I'd still take a Kohler but, depending on the condition, with that tall chute blower it may not be a bad deal.

You'd almost have to pull the clips and drop the spindles out to see any wear - once it starts it doesn't take long to tear up the spindles and start wearing out the axle bore as well . I believe the 520's use a thrust roller bearing on the bottom of the spindle like the D series to help with steering effort and stop the friction issue . Those bearings really should be checked once a year for wear and replace as needed since they support the front end weight on the spindles . Best thing to do when greasing the front end is to support the tractor by the frame and take the weight off the front axle pin/steering spindles - that way they can get properly lubricated at the load points . The compression is released when the piston is two thirds of the way up, so there will be a low reading. Turning it backwards, the compression isn't released till the piston is approximately all the way up. If possible, the exhaust valve can be adjusted with about .040" excess clearance so that no compression is released.

Great topic, I have already replied a bunch of times! The movie Christine is no doubt on my list of favorites. I've watched the movie a few dozen times (got it on VHS) Even though I'm a Charger guy, in this movie I liked the Plymouth Fury.. Now, my least favorite car movie was The Car! The Car was even more evil than Christine, at least Christine was beautiful, the Car was ugly! Not that it was a bad movie but because I was only about 9 yrs. old when I watched it in 1977. It scared the crap outta me! If you liked the movie Christine and you like to read pick up Stephen Kings book Christine. I'm a big reader and I've read a bunch of King's books. In the case of Christine, over the past 20 yrs. I've read the book 3 times! And.... A great TRUE car story.. If you haven't watched this one then you have to. A definite favorite of mine...

Here ya go Jack...... The picture of my 1931 2 Dr Dlx Phaeton has a friend of mine standing next to it. He had Alzheimer's and has since past on. He carried a Model A picture book around with him quite a bit because he remembered he had owned one. His face lit up when I came to pick him up to go for a ride. He and his future wife dated in the coupe. It had been sitting outside covered by a tarp for about 35 years when I asked his wife if I could get it running for him so he could hear it again. I ended up removing the engine and replacing it with one I had since it was seized solid. Someone else donated some used tires and tubes to turn it into a roller. He had a big grin and started to laugh when he heard it start after all of those years. I didn't have time to get the brakes fixed before he became to ill to go for a ride in it.

Well, the two biggest Wheel Horse related events for me in 2016 were: 1. The Spring Mentone event where as a "rookie" I met a bunch of guys........Lane Ralph, Stevasaurus, ACMan, Fun Engineer, Glen Pettit, and uh, and uh, and I eventually lost track. But everyone made me feel super welcome. For that, I am very grateful. Thanks guys! 2. The Fall Leesburg, IN event at Scott Mehlburg's place. Maybe a little bigger crowd, a little different mix of people, different machinery. Met Scott, Derek Workman, D.J. Harrison, and Aldon Trimble (NY) and his friend Rick from the South Bend area. Aldon was the first person to greet me upon joining RS last February and is a fellow GT 14 owner I have shared many forum notes and experiences with, as well as interesting and engaging private conversations. Not meaning to slight anyone, but meeting Aldon was the highlight of my Wheel Horse year.

I change how I store my herd every year trying to better organize things. Here how the attached garage is used today. Ive added a hose reel under my bench so I don't have to deal with dragging the hose around and rolling it up. Also added electric plugs to the bench. Third picture shows how disorganized I usually am 😉 And here's some pictures of how I move items around and store them in the barn. I have an old cart used for banquet tables that I store parts on and use when I'm doing a restoration. The loft is 16' x 4' and provides more square feet for storage.

Looking at all these Garages/Shops and organization ideas made me think how I use to be able to walk around in my two car garage with small rear shop and workbench area BEFORE i had NINE Wheel Horses and several attachments, and sundry parts, motors, manuals, etc. Back in 2010/2011 , I could see , find and get to things quicker and without injury , bumps or bruises! Photos from this morning , six years later, near the end of 2016 area different story!

The two additions to my shop that have made my life easier is the lift and the trolley with chain hoist. The lift is a HF motorcycle lift with a piece of 3/4" plywood fitted to it. The trolley is a 10' piece of unistrut with a McMaster-Carr trolley. Sure makes removing and installing engines simple with no back strain. The little harbor freight mini tire changer is just okay. It beats using two irons on the floor.

Bad timing for me as I have the garage - shop all torn apart for rearranging. It started when I bought a lathe for myself for Christmas and had to make room for it. I just got the Digital read out for it today for my birthday so I started mounting it. It is a 24' x 48' garage / shop with the house on top of it. My mini excavator is in for some major frame work and is sitting where the f350 dually usually sits. I almost have my own hardware store for fasteners since I like to build things so it consumes a large area. More shelving is needed or less stuff - hmmmmm - More shelving!

I can't have sheds where I'm at (which is ridiculous) so I added another garage bay for shop space.

WOW. ........Rough?? I'm getting a picture of some of you in the land of "Horses-a-Plenty" being a little spoiled. That filly certainly needs some attention, but would be a Great!! $50 pickup around here. OK I suspect if I lived where there were more horses (or any kind of GT,s) bI would be pickier too. To to each his own as the saying goes!
