This is the 1st snow of the 2016/2017 season. Got the 702 and about 4= inches of heavy wet snow. If this wasn't the 1st snow, I would not watch it. I need a little more RPM for the 702 and an extra hand to run the camera. The video is a little over 5 minutes.

I took the Ranger out in the snow for the first time today, and it did great! Granted, it was the first snow of the season, and only about 2", but it still performed quite well. It does have loaded HiRun ag tires and weights, but I think I will still need to get chains for when the ice forms on the ground under the snow. Here it is in the workshop warming up after!

After going out to a birthday breakfast with my daughter I decided to take a little cruise on my Suburban 400. @Ken B that's the motor I picked up from you at the big show. What a sweet runner.

Well, this inspired me to see what I could put together to help my old back. I just got it put together, but I am ready to do some lifting heavier than my back can take. Considered putting a crank winch on it, but I don't think its really necessary. I am going to mount a 42" plow to the front for some ballast. At full extension, 200 lbs can bounce the tires. Along with my chain hoist on a track above the lift, I shouldn't have to strain much anymore...work smarter, not harder, right?

My suggestion is to buy another tractor. A tractor for each implement saves time and it's good to have a back up snow machine.

Many of you know about my 520H project . Well tonight the project officially started (literally) the tractor fired right up after chasing some wires and bypassing the safeties . This guy is a wiring wizard , he knows his stuff . Plan for know is get the tires on and snowblower . Hopefully a seat here in the next week too . He said this spring he'll go through the whole harness . She sounded real nice , I think I got a good one ! coming soon !

12-4-1956 The “Million Dollar Quartet” convenes at Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee The modest storefront recording studio at 760 Union Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee, played an outsize role in rock-and-roll history. And of the many historic moments that occurred there, none is more famous than the impromptu jam session by four young rock-and-roll giants that took place on this day in 1956—a session enshrined in rock-and-roll legend as the one-and-only gathering of the “Million Dollar Quartet.” The studio at 760 Union was run by Sam Phillips, the legendary producer who’s Sun Records had launched Elvis Presley on his path toward stardom two years earlier with the release of his first single, “It’s Alright Mama” (1954). Phillips’ decision to sell Presley’s contract to RCA Victor in 1955 for only $35,000 is easy to question in retrospect, but it provided Sun Records with the operating capital it needed in order to record and promote the parade of future stars who had descended on Memphis hoping to follow in Elvis’ footsteps. Among those stars was Carl Perkins, the rockabilly legend who was in the studio on December 4, 1956, to record a follow-up to his smash hit from earlier that year: “Blue Suede Shoes.” Hanging out in the booth was Perkins’ good friend Johnny Cash, already a star in his own right after his breakthrough hits, “Folsom Prison Blues” (1955) and “I Walk The Line” (1956). And playing piano for a $15 session fee was the brash, wild, but not-yet-famous Jerry Lee Lewis, who’s career-making Sun single “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On” was set for release just a few weeks later. Four songs into Perkins’ session, all work came to an end with the arrival of an unexpected drop-in guest: Elvis Presley himself. While recording engineer Jack Clement ran a tape that would not be discovered for more than 20 years, Sam Phillips—ever the promoter—had the presence of mind to summon a photographer from the local paper to capture images of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins gathered around a piano singing the kind of music they’d all grown up on: gospel. The caption under the photo that ran in the next day’s Memphis Press-Scimitar was “Million Dollar Quartet.” The label quickly caught on among rock-and-roll fans who would not actually get the chance to hear the recording made on this day in 1956 until 1981, when the first portions of the lost tapes were discovered and released.

The Shop Superintendent told me back a while ago that he had a dozer/ snow blade that someone had given him and that he would bring it in for me to use on one of my Horses . After work Saturday he stopped by and dropped it off. To my pleasant surprise it is actually a 46" Simplicity/ Allis Chalmers blade. . Will go right on the BIG TEN or any of the B series tractors or Simplicity Landlords of the same style. Early Christmas present for me!!

Jeff, I have been a lifelong WH fan... (dad and I on his 875 circa 1978) And I always will be a fan of them! However, it was Cubs that got me into this hobby. You could definitely say that I'm a hobbyist who enjoys all the vintage GT's of the 50-70's with Horses and Cubs being my favorites. 147's are cool tractors and I think that would be a neat addition to your tractor. I like the GD 1200's and based on the snow that is falling outside right now, that 1450 would be handy here in a couple of hours! It will be worth it to get that D up and running-I'll be cheeriby for you when you do. The snow is falling now. We'll see what it looks like by late afternoon....

This should be the Kohler parts pages for your M14S-601559 - check the spec number. https://www.partstree.com/parts/kohler-engines/engines-horizontal/m14-601559-kohler-m14-engine-magnum-wheel-horse-14hp-10-5kw-specs-601500-601557/ Keep in mind Kohler calls their replacement carburetor a "carb kit". The gasket and small parts they call a "repair kit". This is a good carb parts manual and the 47 053 96 carb shows up on page 3.10 and 3.11. In book form these pages would be side by side and make more sense. The Kohler repair kit is 25 757 11 https://www.partstree.com/parts/kohler-engines/parts/25-757-11-s/ This place https://www.rcpw.com/search/?quest=25 757 11-S lists the Kohler repair kit plus a couple of altenate aftermarket replacement kits. Like some of you, I appreciate all old tractors, not just wheel horse. They all have different things they contributed through the years. I picked this up locally last year and used in in a couple of fun pulls. The sheet metal and mechanicals were in such good shape, I figured it was worthy of a restoration. I chose the paint color because I wanted something different from the standard yellow and because it's a puller, I figured satin black was little more bad-ass. It has a 16 HP instead of the stock 12 HP. Things I appreciate about the Cub are the beefy and tight transmission, the cast iron front end, the steering system, the disk brakes and car-like clutch setup. These are bikini shots without all the weights on. It has a belly bar and I intend to fab a front bar to get it over the 1,000 lb. class. Here's a few before and after . . .

Found this D-200 on our local Craigslist. Not a smokin' deal, but I've paid more for a lot less. This completes my D series collection.I have two D-160's,one D-180,now this D-200 and two D-250's.The guy I bought this D-200 from also has a C-100 and a D-250 for sale.I'm looking for a snow plow that will fit a D-160,D-180,or D-200.Enjoy the pics.Tractor is dirty.Way too cold out to pressure wash.37 Degrees in Yukon Stillwater,NY.

I was going tone deaf from the 40 year old muffler and had to do something. A buddy of mine had the factory mufflers from his HD Road King (less than ten miles on them) so I gave it a shot. It sounds much quieter and mellow. The look I would call "White Trash Fabulous".

I gave up pushing snow a few years back and the only front blade I had on my c120 I didn't like.It was a an adaptation of a another brand's make and was not mounted like the WH unit so I can't say how difficult it would be to remove the WH unit.My blower is easy to remove and install.I leave the flag attached and wire it to the mower deck lift.I also installed 8" wheels instead of skids and the blower rolls easily once removed. racin you are right i believe, if yours is an 8 mine is deff not that. yours has about a 2 in raised ring around the screening, mine has about 1/2 in raised area around the screen cover.its got to be a 10 or 12.
  34. 2 points
Count your head bolts; an 8 will have seven and a 10, 12 or 14 will have nine.
  35. 2 points
That's definitely not an 8 horse. Look at the difference in the size. 10- 16 hp's are basically the same size externally and much bigger than an 8 hp. The 8's also mounted on a riser plate.
  36. 2 points
Check out page 5 of the sales flyer. With snow plow it will be a bit under 8'.

Inching closer to adding oil and gas.

They do that until it's installed on tractor with belt on PTO drive, in such that you use a wrench on that lower idler pulley to pull it towards tractor to relax the tension on the the spring to hook up the belt then it retensions after getting it hooked up,Jeff.

You have a 520H with the forward swept front axle that is required for a 60" mower deck. Given that, the engineers made a kit to, in effect, make the dozer blade frame just 4" longer so the snow plow blade would clear the front wheels/tires. The kit is very simple and used only ONE BOLT to modify to the longer frame. There was also a need to modify the hand lever, which is the 3rd piece fo the kit. Have a look at these pics....hope I helped. ps...I looks like the po only had too long bolts, so he added to THICK BLOCKS to compensate. They are not part of the original, although the two 3/8" thick blocks are needed.
