I don't have a picture of it assembled (doh!) but it is an aerator. It may be handmade from bits and pieces, but does anyone recognize any part of this thing? It has a handle for pushing it around, steel spoke rims and hubs (with covered grease fittings), with a steel cylinder and pins welded to it. Here is the wheel for it: My dad has had this walk around aerator for as long as I have been alive. I don't know how long its been around before that, but I know it has been passed down at least once. We didn't have much attachment to it, so we left it out in the woods for 30 years and just pulled it out when needed. I am tearing it down, painting it and putting a hitch on it for his tractor. It has really neat cast iron hubs and wheels, a steel cylinder with the pins welded to it. It has a large 1" axle and GIANT roller bearings that have 30+ year old grease that kept them smooth this long.

Keep that thing outa my yard.

10-12-1973 First U.S. Vice President Appointed Under the 25th Amendment Gerald Ford is appointed the position of U.S. Vice Pres. after the resignation of V.P. Spiro Agnew. Prior to ratification of the 25th Amendment, the rules of succession to the Presidency were Constitutionally vague. The Constitution did not specify whether the Vice President would become President or Acting President if the President were to die, resign, be removed from office or become disabled. Do to the lack of clarity, some Presidents and their Vice Presidents took it upon themselves to draft agreements for handling Presidential succession and inability. These agreements specified the terms for declaring a President unable to perform the duties of office, and the terms for re-instatement once able to return to duty. On January 6th, 1965, Senator Birch Bayh of Indiana and Representative Emanuel Celler of New York introduced joint resolutions in the Senate and House of Representatives aimed at clarifying and defining the rules on Presidential succession and inability in the Constitution. The Bayh-Celler proposals, which formed the foundation of the 25th Amendment, refined the processes of declaring a President incapable of fulfilling the duties of office and filling a Vice Presidential vacancy. Congress approved the 25th Amendment on July 6, 1965, the States completed ratification by February 10, 1967, and President Lyndon Johnson certified the amendment on February 23, 1967. The first use of the 25th Amendment occurred in 1973 when President Richard Nixon nominated Congressman Gerald R. Ford of Michigan to fill the vacancy left by Vice President Spiro Agnew’s resignation. In less than a year, the 25th Amendment would be used again. This time, Vice President Ford became President after Richard Nixon resigned, and he nominated Nelson Rockefeller to fill the Vice Presidential vacancy left by him.

The 200 series tractors were a more residential mower class tractor, not built for ground engaging equipment such as a plow or tiller. I believe the vertical shaft engines you mentioned are all good engines that would last long if maintained properly, like any engine would need. As for the deck, it's a 37 inch side discharge that lay diagonally across the underside of the tractor. Nothing wrong with that, it's just the way they were designed. As it sits, with the tires needing at least air, and missing the flywheel cover, for me it would be a 100 dollar machine. As I mentioned earlier it is a machine designed for mowing and not much else. If you know more about it than you are telling us it could be worth more to you. Does it run? Do you need to buy tubes for the tires? Is the flywheel cover available with the purchase? Just those questions answered could make a difference. Let us know what you decide and what you will do with it if you buy it.

Ok, so I must be cracking up. The old saying is you can't take it with you ( $ ). Anyway, while checking craigslist, and yes its dangerous, I came across this original 1 owner, garage kept from new B 80. So I write him on it. He shoots back some pics, tells me he guesses about 10 hours a year use. Last year he goes through the motor, that started with him doing a decarbon on it. Says it runs like a top. Then rattles off it comes with a plow, chains, rear attachment bracket and all the original manuals to. We all know I am a sucker for all the provenance, fancy word for books. So I say to me, you know I wouldn't mind a B 80. Why Not? He's asking 400 bucks for all, I offer 350, he says deal. And that's it, now I own a B 80. All I have to do it get it. From the looks of it you would be financially so far into this project that you could have bought a nice little running RJ or Suburban to putz around on and had change left over; just walk away.

I was telling ACman that a young guy at work has a Allis Chalmers (Simplicity) Big Ten with mower deck he would like to sell. I'm going to buy, if anything, for nostalgia reasons. When I was a kid there were 3 lawn tractor dealers in town. Wheel Horse, Simplicity and Allis Chalmers. Sorry no pictures yet but will have some after I get it home.

I did research on ST tires about 3-4 years ago. You can learn a lot on RV forums for example. From the collective info and research from several different resources that I found, blowouts are usually caused by heat in the tire. Heat is caused by one or more of 3 things; under inflation, loaded over the tire's weight rating, or driving faster than the speed rating of the tire. I've also read that ST tires are more UV resistant than car and truck tires. Now tire separations are different story. I just don't understand why some tire manufacturer doesn't build a high quality, dependable, long lasting ST tire, the way Wheel Horse built their tractors!

Grandma always told me you don't talk politics or religion if you want to keep friends . But this election seems we have two choices dumb or dumber . Let's hope we all can survive the next couple of weeks . One of these elections years Mickey Mouse is going to win by write in votes , then what happens Donald Duck for VP ?

I see people all the time traveling with a guardian angel hovering over their unsecured load. Either that or they're placing wagers on whether or not they'll get to the chosen destination. Theres ZERO room for ignorance at highway speeds. I'll never understand how anyone can take an overloaded or worn out trailer up to 55mph or faster. As for placing any blame on Chinese tires. I'd prefer to see the condition of this mans trailer and straps before placing blame elsewhere. There are millions of these tires on the road and most of them are holding up just fine. When any tire is worn out it time to go. Trailer tires and LT tires are two different animals. Consult a tire dealer before you buy. Accidents happen everyday. Don't be a statistic.

Well I'm gonna say it, by the looks of the photo, FREE would not even be a good deal. Regarding the LAWN tractor Series , I bought an A110 new in 75 and ran it for around 12 years no issues. It was garage kept and maintained all the way. I only sold it to step up to a 310-8 in 87. The 212 is a nice machine as well, but me, my opinion, I wouldn't spend $100 on the one in the photo. just my take

Since it was 36 deg. here this morning,I figured that white stuff may be coming soon.I filled the horses with non-ethanol gas and brought them out for some cool fresh air.Left to right is a 520H with 2 stage,416H with 2 stage and snow cab,416H with tall chute single stage,and Ford 1710 4x4 with 5 foot 3 point hitch blower.Missing in the pics is my Ford 3000 diesel with 7 1/2 foot Fisher plow,and my new to me Ford 555B backhoe.Come-on snow.........I'm ready.

It still needs belt guards and control knobs but my work is done. This one is going to my brother for a Christmas present and he can add the finishing touches. It will find a place next to his Allis Chalmers Big Ten and will share lawn duties too.

I want to give all of you an update of sorts. First off this little gem isn't home yet. It's about 40 miles away being kept for me. But the real story is this, when the PO called me and we exchanged out work history stories, both of us retired now. He gave 50 bucks back on the 350 purchase price. Pete says to me, heck Glenn, I think 300 is fair enough, your a decent fella and I am happy with 300. Tell you what, I was flabbergasted, couldn't thank him enough. I can't really put into words about this, but I think you guys get my feelings here. There's still real nice folks out there . Glenn

I just got this 633 for $25 and was wanting any pics of other 633's. Any and all pics! I may fix it up but not sure when I'll get to it.

The black plastic belt cover is a non issue Glenn. It comes right off with 2 plastic thumb screws. I'm sure it was a result of litigation. And a beautiful 95 by the way!

Comedian Pat Paulsen was a regular on the Smothers Brothers Show and ran for President in '68, '72, '76, '80, '88, '92 and '96. It was always a joke to promote himself, but if he were alive today I have little doubt that he could finally win!

The front of the trailer is way too low compared to the front. Me too. I've had campers for over 20 years now, and have many friends with campers also (one friend just got her first one last weekend, she doesn't know what she's in for). There is always something that needs repairing or replacing. I think it's like the saying about boats, "You're only happy twice. The day you buy it and the day you sell it!"

There are good buys out there. There are a few now on CL and a few within a couple of hours drive from you. This time of year is a good time to buy since for the most part, especially in Missouri, lawn mowing season is over. Look for a good B-series, C-series or a 300 series tractor, or a mid to late 60s Wheel Horse. If a B series, be sure it doesn't have the smaller tires on it and vertical shaft engine as those are lawn tractors (unless it's in good running shape since you just want to put-put around some). If a 200 series, again be sure it's in good running condition and be sure you test drive it around for a while, especially the hydros. A weak or worn out hydro will show itself after it's warmed up, while it may pull ok if cold. Drive it! Again, now is a good time to buy since mowing season is coming to an end. What will sell at a higher price now is tractors with snow blades or snow blowers as the white stuff will start to fly before we know it.

Owned one lawn tractor, early '70's. Since then, all garden tractors. I want and need garden tractors; push snow, mow, turn the earth, grade my stone drives.

To me - $25 if you wanted to do them a favor and get it out of their yard...

I suppose it could have been a part of a roller mill for milling sugar cane.

You need one these on your 701! We dug out a stump and replaced a retaining wall last summer with the 1277 and loader. Randy

Here is what I have so far with the 3D model. There may need to be some tweaking as getting multiple bends, and a bend within a bend, is tricky when it comes to getting accurate dimensions.

Does anyone have any experience mounting a 2 stage snowblower on a 96 (anniversary) 520H? The black cover over the pto is what's confusing to me. I am looking REAL SERIOUS at this 96 520H, and since I bought the 2 stage blower for it I thought I would ask if there is anything funky about that year and mounting the snowblower on it. Btw, also, the 520 takes a differant cab for it to, right? A regular cab won't fit correctly? Thanks guys, GLENN HEAR that Doug, I am talking cab, your karma is working on me.

Glenn my 520 blower tractor is an Anniversary model but get this a 1997 (bought new in 1998) and my cab came from a 417A it's just a bit tight at the back of the seat a non issue really and Cleat has an excellent "pictorial" thread on here of installing that behemoth on the 520s that's how I figured out how to get mine hitched up this past December,Jeff.

Got around to sharpening blades, greasing spindles and installing the chute fabbed from baseboard molding. Just in time to store it until spring. but it it looks like it will at least block some if not all the clippings from collecting on the hydro.

I don't know anything about it but I do know I would not want to be run over by it.

Original Cab Company 79978 is what I bought for my '95 520H and I believe it should fit yours as well. That also fits the 300 and 400 series I have been told. My '95 has no black plastic pto belt guard cover, and if it did I would remove it.

I just have to hop in here and say that @Walt, that is some fine detailing you are doing! I have rarely seen it so thorough. This place and its members are awesome!

They cut well in good grass. As kid we had an Eclipse Reel Mower it did great on grass but when the narrow leaf plantain sent up it seed heads it wouldn't cut them very well. I got this one awhile back almost like the one from when I was a kid.

UHaul, is the largest trailer renting company in the world. Every thing about their trailers are designed for safety, a large number of people who rent these have never pulled a trailer before. They are very heavy, couplings are the best, they have more tie downs than a married man with a job, and they only use ST tires. Two reasons for all this safety. first and foremost is personal and property safety (LAWSUITS)!! The second, these are their trailers, they make money with them they want to rent them for years. They are not in the business to sell you a trailer that was build as cheap as possible, then sell it to you and it becomes you problem. Yes, tongue weight, and the RIGHT tires do matter! They also keep them maintained, probably the biggest short coming of most of us trailer owners.

My '77 B80 has the Nelson muffler in front of the engine that exits on the left side. My Dad has a '75 B80 with a little muffler on the block. I don't know what brand it is, see pic below.

The "B" probably has 1" axles and the "C" will bee 1 1/8", other than that there should be no problem.

It should be a near direct fit, I swapped the 4 speed on my Dads 73 8 4 speed with a newer 8 speed. Your right about the shift plate. On his I needed the hubs and rims from the newer tractor but on a positive note the brake linkage fit with no mods

My front suitcase weight hanger bracket that I made for my 520 fits B,C,3/4/500 series and I have thread with plans/blueprint to make them,Jeff.

What I did is bolt on a 4" piece of thick rubber, so it stuck out about 2" --- this greatly reduced the "updraft" of dry grass clippings (that settled on tranny & shift area), and helped keep the grass spread low & further. You may have to shorten it to 1" where the rear wheels may hit when turning. I recommend doing this, really helps. Glen (Kitchen floor edge, 4x36" costs bout $2-3, better is 'baler belting' at farm store, 4x120" is $8). Photos added 8:15pm. On the cost of Baler Belt, OMG, at our local TSC a 4"x10' piece was only $8.95. Could be any kind of heavy/thick rubber, like left-over horse-stall mat, or truck bed mat, or . . . ?).
