Everything's loaded and ready to go. Takin off early in the morning. No room for a tractor on the way out but I'll be bringing one home.

I'm just about all loaded up. Here are the unloaded and loaded pics..With a spare tire, two tractors, a good sized tool box, a 5 gallon gas can, a cooler, our camping gear, ez up tent, table top barbecue, an engine and a set of Suburban front tires and rims I've still got some space..

If the mods. determine this is not the proper place to ask for help with this problem, I will understand if it is deleted. Anyway it is related to the WHA problem that we all suffer from, and from past conversations, I know nearly all Red Square members are qualified to offer solutions to this problem. The problem is ... Every summer when I start to wear shorts, Mrs K complains about the dirt, sawdust, and grease on my socks. She has now refused to put them in her washing machine. I have ruled out some potential solutions: 1. stop wearing socks....could be fatal and expensive with no ankle protection...I take blood thinners 2. buy throw away socks .... could get expensive 3. place an ad for a new wash person....lets see 50% of my IRA, 401K and pensions....now that is expensive, and I would miss the blackberry pies. Thanks in advance for any intelligent feasible solutions. edit PS If you do happen to talk to Mrs K, please do not let her know we are working on this problem. She likes surprises.

Hello all, Just joined up as I am now the proud owner of a 1989 312-8. With a shiny new grass cutter deck. It's now had its inaugural run and the trees in the orchard are accessible again! Currently wondering if there's a plough fitment or rotorvator (Tiller) l could source in Yorkshire ? Cheers, Julian

I throw my greasy socks, shorts, shirts, wiping rags, and towels in the washer while wifey is away from the domicile. As soon as they are done, a quick high temperature spin in the dryer and no one is the wiser. I'm not sure what it is about some wives, but I get the same "don't put that in there" stare when I go to put the cats bowls in the dishwasher. ...and if she knew I wrote this, there would be no Mrs. M's cookie bars for me to take to the show...

Just hafta figure out a way to get the 312 on there yet maybe in the back seat....

tractors loaded, still have to load parts to sell yet, looks like it may take 3 trips to get it all there, all tractors on open trailer will be for sale, hopefully not bring too many back home eric j the new open trailer will save alot of tome loading and unloading, and can carry more easier

So here is my "before" shot of my hauler. I plan on loading up today but just a little too early even for me to start the tractors now due to the neighbors... Update ... he we are all loaded up ready to head to the show. Just waiting on Fireman (Jeff) to drop off a sulky I am on hauling duty to the show as he sold it.

I get the stare when I put spoons and forks together in the same space in the dishwasher. She has a reason about makes unloading easier . I suggested that she load the dishwasher her self, now I am on permanent hand washing duty of certain dishes. I have learned to keep my mouth shut.

Ed From one hydro guy to another I think I'm seeing through this,,,,,,,The real problem is you no longer have access to the Hydraulic test lab where you used to wash your dirty sox in those hydro turbine test machines PS many many years ago the old supervisor at the dams where I work was very frugal. He would put all the used rags and a rock in a croaker sack, tie a rope on it and throw it in the discharge . By the end of the shift they were clean,,,,,so many dam stories
  15. 5 points
For those of you on here that are pulling tandem trailers. You might be wise to check what states your going through and check to see if that state requires trailer brakes. I know some states require at least one axel to have them regardless of the trailers carrying capacity. I know that sometimes the law will start noticing a big influx of trailers all hauling tractors or cars for a big show and start pulling over and inspecting them. If you are a vehicle pulling a trailer you come under DOT laws concerning proper hook up and brake regulations. Penalties can range from fines to being deadline till the violation is fixed. Also you get in a accident and are found to be at fault because you were not legal, insurance companies do funny things. Don't want to be a big downer here, but it would be a bummer sitting on the side of the road because some overzelous, board police officers decided to start checking all theses trailers that have suddenly invaded thier area with the same looking little red tractors.

6-21-1965 Mr. Tambourine Man is released, and the folk-rock revolution is on Released on this day in 1965, the Byrds’ debut album, Mr. Tambourine Man, marked the beginning of the folk-rock revolution. In just a few months, the Byrds had become a household name, with a #1 single and a smash-hit album that married the ringing guitars and backbeat of the British Invasion with the harmonies and lyrical depth of folk to create an entirely new sound. Perhaps someone else could have listened to the bright guitar lines of the Beatles’ “Ticket To Ride” and to Bob Dylan’s original “Mr. Tambourine Man” and had the idea of somehow combining the two, but neither of those recordings existed when the Byrds’ Roger McGuinn devised his group’s new sound. Newly signed to Columbia Records, the Byrds had access to an early demo version of “Mr. Tambourine Man” even before their label-mate Bob Dylan had had a chance to record it for his own upcoming album. On January 20, 1965, they entered the studio to record what would become the title track of their debut album and, incidentally, the only Bob Dylan song ever to reach #1 on the U.S. pop charts. Aiming consciously for a vocal style in between Dylan’s and Lennon’s, McGuinn sang lead, with Gene Clark and David Crosby providing the complex harmony that would, along with McGuinn’s jangly electric 12-string Rickenbacker guitar, form the basis of the Byrds’ trademark sound. That sound, which would influence countless groups from Big Star to the Bangles in decades to come, had an immediate and profound impact on the Byrds’ contemporaries, and even on the artists who’d inspired it in the first place. “Wow, man, you can even dance to that!” was Bob Dylan’s reaction to hearing what the Byrds’ had done with “Mr. Tambourine Man.” Just days before the hugely influential album of the same name was released to the public on June 21, 1965, Dylan himself would be in a New York recording studio with an electric guitar in his hands, putting the finishing touches on “Like A Rolling Stone” and setting the stage for his controversial “Dylan goes electric” performance at the Newport Folk Festival just one month later.

One of my favorite parts of the Wheel Horse Collectors Club annual show is the gathering of so many RedSquare'ers in one place. Each year we gather to take a picture, and it is usually a spur of the moment event where some get left out. So this year, let's plan a couple of times in advance, so I am just going to throw it out there. Friday 11:30am - Meet in the usual spot near the entrance or (RedSquare tent area). I'm open to other times, just wanted to get a time going.

Most of us have been there. A bolt breaks off below the surface and you need a way to drill it out, but the surface of the bolt makes it difficult to center and using a center punch might not be applicable to all situations.. My special one that had to be done right the first time was a bolt on the end of a motorcycle crankshaft. If unsuccessful, I was looking at an engine tear down.To get a perfect center, i knew i needed a steadying bushing to perfectly center the drill bit. Sort of like a Vix bit, but easy to make with what you have. Here is a picture of a Vix bit https://www.vixbitsonline.com/ What I did was find a small quarter inch drive socket just a tad bigger than the hole I had to center it in. I chucked the socket in a drill and spun it against a mini grinder until it fit perfectly in the hole. Next, i found a drill bit that fit perfectly the inside of the socket and drilled the hole in the broken bolt. I then enlarged the hole to the correct size for an easy out and it worked perfectly. I also used the type of easy out that was unlikely to break off inside the fastener. Similar to this one. https://www.amazon.com/Alden-8440P-Grabit-Damaged-Extractor/dp/B001A4CWHO/ref=pd_bxgy_469_img_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=KHH9Q2YC75ERVVQQYMY6 There are other ways instead of bolt extractors such as left hand drill bits, but this thread is primarily about the centering jig The most important thing about restoration repairs like this is just to walk away and think about it for a day or so. I have found that solutions will just pop into my head if i stay calm and analyze the problem instead of beating myself up for making a mistake.

How about a pair of these beauties for doing chores ? 1) The neighbors will all have something to talk about . 2) The Mrs & her friends will always have an elephant in the room during those Lemonade / gossip meetings . 3) Ya' never know you just might become the new local trend-setter...... 4) And don't forget the pics

Pre clean with GoJo hand soap , best stuff ever . None of my business, but does she have some phobia of putting dirty clothes in the washer ?
  23. 4 points
That's what I was thinking, just sneak them in there. Buy a small used washer from CL, put it in the shop and use biodegradable laundry soap if you don't have a drain. Then use it for shop towels and a parts washer too.

Got the front of the hood scoops welded and shaped today. Still have some metal filing to do and seal up the bottom of the hood "wings", for lack of a better term. Both sides get mesh and the headlight opening too. Trying to get away with as little mud as possible in the whole hood. First time ever with metal working.

I thought this would be a cool thread as we all start to load up our trucks and/or trailers to haul our horses to the big show. I know many are already loaded up and ready to go so post up those pictures here! I have not loaded up my truck and trailer as of yet but will post when I do.

You will see several red canopies together in the approximate location below. Usually rmaynard, buckrancher, AMCRules, me and squonk next to each other. Depends on when people arrive, sometimes others shack up with us, but that is the location! I like the preplanned time . . . I missed last year when it changed

I had a similar problem last winter. My wife said she wasn't going to wash my nasty carhart coveralls in her new washer. I just said OK . After the 1st weekend working on my transmission I just threw them in my little corner rolled up to wear again next time. When she figured out what that awful odor was my coveralls got washed in her new washer.

Speaking of pictures KC9KAS, when I get the 875 done I'm going to mount a 2m mobile and antenna on it and be a Wheel Horse mobile.... KC8YOE I'll be sure and post pictures.

We already have one forum member who doesn't wear socks so that solution is out. The little portable washer in the garage will do it as long as you get the parts washer fluid all out before washing your clothes. That stuff can irritate the skin. If you have a Runnings store near you, They sell a great pack of crew socks cheap. I cannot and will not help you with your boxers! YIKES!!!!!!!

Started loading my trailer this afternoon. So far, only Emory's suburban in there along with our canopy, chairs, spare tires, etc... Hope to load the GT14 tomorrow. Wife suggested we come up on Thurs as she doesn't want to leave real early Fri. Surprise!!!! She told my son that we weren't bringing home any new horses, but I think I've got room for one more if I see something I can't leave without!

I think the small washer in the garage would be answer. Mrs. K will think you are helping with the household chores which could see an increase in pies.

Just about ready to go first thing tomorrow. Was as shopping for a nice larger PJ trailer which would certainly have lead to returning with more projects but I ran across this little roadster and well, the wife took priority this time. So small trailer will have to manage it this time.

So I went to visit my aunt and uncle on fathers day weekend and got to talking to her about the Wheel Horse that I purchased and this forum and how I remember my cousin and I pulling each other around in the dump cart at the lake house. And now to my suprise she had kept the dump cart after selling the W.H. back in the early 90s. And said i could have it. So here she is in all her rusted glory.

A lot of really good ideas here, but I'm afraid no-one has really offered Ed a good solution! Ed, looks like you are on your own on this one! PS...My wife informed me a few nights ago that when I load the dishwasher and she doesn't like it, she just fixes it! I said I could stop loading it, but she said that once in a while I get it right so keep on doing it!
