Well today was my B- bay and wasn't expecting much. I new my wife was probably going to have some family and friends over to ,eat ,swim ,and let the kids drive some horses and have some fun . So when my cousin told me he was going out to start the 753 I thought nothing of it. While I was eating some cake I seen my son on the 656 drive by. A little while later my cousin wanted to go out in the garage to see what he needed to fix the hood on the RJ58 . We're sitting there talking for 5 , 10 minutes all the while the 656 is running, sitting out in the driveway. That's when I look up and see the hood ornament ! It's not a 656 it's the 1075 I called on earlier but someone was there buying it . Well that someone was my cousin and my son . This thing is raunchy , dirty, and just flat out cool in my eyes. . I'm really loving these short frame square hoods . And to top it off I also got a tee shirt ( there's no mistaking who I am at the show ) ! Enough talking here's some pics.

Riding Around the Grounds With Customs being the feature tractor for next year, we cannot stress enough the need to be safe, and maintain safe speeds during the show. Please be mindful of your speed and all of the people riding and walking around the show. We understand that with these custom machines there could be a desire to show off but this cannot happen. If you see anyone riding fast or recklessly, please ask them to slow down, or report them to a member of the Wheel Horse Collector’s Club. We cannot stress enough that our first accident will be the end of the show. Please help us in ensuring that everyone is safe. Submitted by: The Board of Directors Here! Here! Let's be safe out there!

While I'm running the Boring Mill today perhaps with the proper blueprints I can mill out a "New" Wheel Horse tractor.

Nice present, AC... tee shirt is a great idea. I could put some road apples on mine so everyone would know who I am, although no one would want to...

So, sometime last year (I think, maybe two years ago?) long time ago friend and former colleague of mine Jeff (Fireman here) was selling his C-120 which I ended up swinging a deal (thank-you Jeff) and heck I think he even delivered it for me but again I've got the dreaded CRS so I'm not even going to frustrate myself by trying to remember, lol Anyway, the Kohler in that old tractor ran good but man would it keep the mosquito's away with that good old time-tested straight 30 weight oil smoke. Jeff knew she needed some love, probably why he gave me a deal on her, and was kind enough to include a new-in-the-box OEM slug with rings and a complete OEM engine gasket kit. Tractor came with a snow blade, tire chains and a deck. Deck needed some work but I figured I'd find a decent replacement and maybe use this one for parts if I needed, or pass it along to someone who needed it more than I do. Plan was to get it all straightened out and cleaned up in its' working clothes last year and bring it down to where we're living part-time in Tennessee where the living is easier, the grass just seems greener, and where there's an old craftsman lawn tractor that needs to be moved along... Well, neither of those things happened last year, but if I don't find work up here soon (my company closed its doors back in October) then we'll be putting our place up on the market and moving down there mos tic. With that in mind, I figured it was time to siht or get off the pot (as Grandma used to say, lol) with this tractor and get it ready for duty. Didn't take any pictures, but the engine was in incredible shape internally except for the connecting rod which was worn down at the crank, and a roached exhaust valve. Although the engine smoked like Grandma towards the end, the bore was unbelievably clean. Ball honed the jug, ordered a new connecting rod and exh valve from the boys down at http://www.newtownpowerequipment.com/ and while I waited the week for those to come in I gave her a good soaking and flush in the parts washer. Put her back together, new ignition parts, bumped the key and dang man does this old Kohler sound like she's ready for another 40 years! Anyway, here's a few pics I just took a few minutes ago. She's a little crusty-er than when Jeff had her but that's only because I ran out of indoor storage options after losing my job and having to empty my shop out from there into what room I had left at Home here in CT. Plan is to rub her down and oil her up to keep the metal in good shape until I can dedicate the time to do a proper tear-down and repaint in Tennessee. In the meantime, I'm in the market for a sweetheart of a 42 or 48" rear discharge deck for this old girl if anyone has a line on one. I've included a few shots of the place in Tennessee as well. My '73 F250 truck that we brought out from Clovis New Mexico where it lived since new until February of this year, and the shop building that eventually the '120 will be living in. First truck pic was taken in February, second pic in April, and the remaining four pics were just taken last week before we split to come back up here. Thanks for reading through another one of my rambles, enjoy the pics PS: Jeff, thanks man. Tractor's in good hands and will be well cared-for, my friend.

My leaf blower broke on me today so I went to the place I usually buy my equipment at and thought I'd share the history. The place is called Terpstras in Griffith Indiana. They are a toro dealer now, but been around since 1943. They were a wheel horse dealer since wheel horse started distribution. In the book Straight from the horses mouth, they name dealers and names of the people that competed in the 500 special race, and the owners father and this business is named in the book. Very nice people. They sold this RJ in 59 and got back on trade in in 63 and they restored it in the 90s. It's been in the same place ever since. I get all my tires for my WH's put on here, it's always nice to visit and talk about Wheel horses. The last picture is in the late 60s and the owners father had 4 wheel horses hooked together some how with rope and actually had a old horse cart behind them and used the wheel horses like real horses to pull the cart, all four at a time. Just figured I share this, pretty cool history.

The main problem with switching to windows 10 is I know there will be things I don't understand. Then I have to wait for my granddaughter to come over and get me squared away. I really hate to bother her with my computer problems because she just got her bachelor's degree and is busy looking for a job. You older guys know what I mean that learning computers don't come that easy for us.

6-1-1967 The Beatles release Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Bob Dylan’s instant reaction to the recently completed album Paul McCartney brought by his London hotel room for a quick listen in the spring of 1967 may not sound like the most thoughtful analysis ever offered, but it still to hit the nail on the head. “Oh I get it,” Dylan said to Paul on hearing Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band for the first time, “you don’t want to be cute anymore.” In time, the Beatles’ eighth studio album would come to be regarded by many as the greatest in the history of rock and roll, and oceans of ink would be spilt in praising and analyzing its revolutionary qualities. But what Bob Dylan picked up on immediately was its meaning to the Beatles themselves, who turned a critical corner in their career with the release of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band on this day in 1967. Writing in The Times of London in 1967, the critic Kenneth Tynan called the release of Sgt. Pepper “a decisive moment in the history of Western civilization,” but 30 years later, Paul McCartney called it a decisive moment of a more personal nature. “We were not boys, we were men,” is how he summed up the Beatles’ mindset as they gave up live performance and set about defining themselves purely as a studio band. “All that boy [stuff], all that screaming, we didn’t want any more,” McCartney said. “There was now more to it.” With Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, the Beatles announced their intention to be seen “as artists rather than just performers.” Sgt. Pepper is often cited as the first “concept album,” and as the inspiration for other great pop stars of the 60s, from the Stones and the Beach Boys to Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye, to reach for new heights of creativity. For the Beatles themselves, 1967 marked not just a new creative peak, but also the beginning of a three-year period in which the group recorded and released an astonishing fiveoriginal studio albums, including two—1968’s The Beatles (a.k.a. “The White Album”) and 1969’s Abbey Road—that occupy the 10th and 14th spots, respectively, on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the Greatest Albums of All Time. Also in the top 15 on that list are Rubber Soul (1965) at #5, Revolver (1966) at #3 and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band at #1.

No, I don't recommend it. Sorry... can't find anyone dumb enough to film this on a red tractor! Break ground with shovel cutting some roots if possible, Gently soak before, not saturate (you don't want to create sticky/suction-y mud), Use your truck and a chain, hook low and pull slow (Low gear 4WD if possible.) Garden tractors are not really up to the task of pulling them out of the ground. Across the ground once they're out, yes, by all means. Drag them all over, all you want!

Glad to hear you cleaned the wire terminals and grounds, they cause a bunch of problems. We will systematically use a jumper cable to take the place of components and try to find the defective one. Take a jumper from the battery + to the starter and it should turn over. If it won't then use another jumper from the battery - to ground and try. Next run the jumper from the Battery + to the solenoid on the side that goes to the starter, once again it should turn over. Now move the jumper to the battery side of the solenoid and turn the key and the starter should turn over. Take a small wire from the battery + to the small terminal on the solenoid and see if it spins the starter. Having done these tests post your results and we can probably pick out the faulty component.

Look for a bad /burned connection in the fuse blocks. the white multipin molex connector and all terminal connections. A lot of the time, simply unplugging and replugging all the connections several times will clean them enough to solve the problem.

Wow! I about woke up the house on that one!!! wasnt sure I was gonna stop coughing after the laughing!!! And I mean that in a nice way I actually tried to break my spleen a few weeks ago (not really) pulling down a way rotten tree. The top and side pieces came down but the main trunk stopped my 520 cold!!! And the steering wheel said hello to my gut..barely. I backed up on the seat and gave her another few tries! Yeah, thick head!

I won't try to solve your mechanical problems right now, but I think we've all had days like that and felt some of those same emotions. You did right to walk away when you did, and if you and Captain Morgan had to spend some time together, then so be it. As my kids' former elementary school principal used to say, usually at the end of a phone conversation about some bit of mischief they'd been involved in, "tomorrow's another day". Well, maybe I will try to help... On your 1076, assuming you have a Kohler K241 engine, did you check the main fuel needle? That needs to be really clean, including spraying it with some carb cleaner and poking out the tiny little holes along the shaft. If any of those holes are clogged, it could cause the symptoms you describe. Is the air filter clean?

I have a 74 C120 that had a red tank and a 75 C120 that had a black tank, years ago when I bought the second C120 (75) shortly after I bought it should I say the motor blew it's rod so I swapped tanks for whatever reason and never swapped back even after I had the motor rebuilt on the 75. we may not be taking into consideration that it is a European model and may differ from American made models eric j
