I'm a little confused at this point (not unusual!!!!). In a couple of your posts you say that you have good spark - if you have a good spark then your coi, points and condenser are probably fine. The ignition timing needs to be set to fire BEFORE TDC. Tecumsehs are a little weird because instead of giving you a certain number of degrees of roatation before TDC, they give you a measurement down the bore to the top of the piston. I forget what the number is for the H55 - Chris is suggesting .070" in his post above. Unless you have this fancy Tecumseh tool: You need to have the cylinder head off so you can measure down the bore. I'm not a fan of Tecumsehs, but I think that it is a good thing that the timing is set independant of the points gap. On a Kohler you are forced to run what ever points gap that you end up with when you set the timing (or vise versa)

Looks like you're moving right along. I need to get busy with finishing mine! I like the battery location, but I can't use one like that. My big butt on a bump and I might get a burn from shorting across the posts with the seat... I had to use a motorcycle battery and a fabbed up box, but it worked great: Yeah, that's a hydraulics "project" on it too...

Well it is a huge mess right now. Will hopefully get a day or two this summer to pull everything out and reorganize the chaos.

I could tell you which one you should get, but in the end you may be unhappy with the decision of others. I'm not saying you would choose the one I tell you. In the end they both have their pro's and con's. Go with your gut and get the one you want.

I know what you mean, and especially when using an industrial enamel like I usually spray. It usually takes 2 days before I can start assembly! I've never been the patient type, or at least thats what my wife tells me. Its looking really good! Can't wait to see it done! Matt :flags-texas:

I wanted to weld a pole in the middle of the trailer and put a mannequin hanging on to it with a bikini or nude but the wife said NO, and she don't tell me no very often, so no pole dancer this year.

Yeah..... the sheetmetal on that one was painted metallic maroon by someone in it's past. Most of the time it looks purple in pictures though. From a few weeks ago - on the job & with a better seat. :

Had the rims powder coated last week. Here's a couple pics of them coming home in the back of my truck. I tried to pick the best available color trying to match something close to the Original color of the rims. What do you guys think? Also found the tires I wanted at of all places....Good Year. They gave me a deal that was hard to refuse and thats good because I believe in supporting the local business's when I can and supporting the venders when I can. I will post pictures of the mounted tires tommorrow if I can. Have many parts ready to be painted and have all the parts to do the tranny. JUST NEED SOME WARM WEATHER TO GET MORE DONE. It was snowing here this morning in Minnesota. Maybe I should move to Texas .
