Had the opportunity today to buy out another closed Wheel Horse dealership about 45 minutes away. Lots of good stuff, good mix of discontinued parts, lots of Kohler. Long day but should be worth it. Enjoy the photos boys.

On my 520 the gas cap and hydro dipstick are underneath the seat. The seat doesn’t flop forward enough to stay up. Got tired of finding something to prop it with. I already have some rubber stops with 5/16s thread. After scrounging around a little I found a short piece of 5/16s all-thread, a matching rod end, and coupling nut. After drilling a hole I bolted on the assembly. Raise the seat and it falls into a vertical position, or push it to the back where it won’t move. Flip it forward when lowering the seat and it rests next to the seat bracket. Much better.

High UV index and humidity Wed. and Thurs. Didn't want to get out from under the canopy. Got some sunburn in minutes. But did get a pic of 2 of my faves. Army Jeep built out of ? Had coil over shocks all around and I could see a chain and sprocket on the rear axle. Engine sounded tiny. Big honkin engine the club purchased last year from somewhere in Canada. Major ordeal getting it to it's new home. They leveled an area, planted it and built a building around it!

I bet if @ebinmaine had cleaned up that carb with his patented scientific method it would run perfectly and get phenomenal gas mileage...

Not sunrise or sunset but this lightning has been going on for about 45 minutes and still going, Pretty cool to watch and the video doesn't really capture the "big picture" The tree frogs are quite active too!

The loose hair made me nervous but applause for the effort! The ME lab at college had a small stand-mounted gas turbine for experiments on airflow and fuel management. We were super-closely supervised when running that sucker--and it was LOUD!

Started this 3 bottom plow for the Big Dog.

Haven't done it yet but these might go on the 161 with the FEL to improve the strain on steering components. Crappy, dirty looking rims with wheelbarrow tires came on an off-brand cart I acquired somehow. Bushings and zerk fittings and when I stripped the junk tires and knocked the bushings out, they were really nice looking 4" x 8 rims with potential. Hit them with some degreaser and ordered some decent bearings and a pair of 4 ply Deestone tri-ribs.

I got no worries with you I don't think you handle a grinder like some others we know! Deal ... but as @19richie66 would say ... put the grinder down and slowly step away.. Someone is gonna get this tractor for dang near the four letter word but gonna have to pass a interview ... and sign extensive documents drawn up in lawyer language. @Achto has got a lathe we'll make some some day. All back and operating as should and on the splash pad ... some belt stopping issues yet and jumps out of third gear occasionally but like that when I sold it. I'll get right on that. Still needs a new voltmeter. I put a digital one on as I found out Techies like to over charge a battery . I know not original but with one the charge can be controlled by running the bug eyes to keep the voltage below battery cook limits or removing a diode.

Hello Horse fans. It's a good day but bad problem.... Got a 520 H and can't be happier but, it's got issues (why it was cheap). Wiring hacked, constantly draining a new battery after a day. Gauges not working but the safety lights on the dash do illuminate. Can hear a relay click but that's all. Got all hub caps, snow thrower and new belts, pulleys, every book to tear it down including hydraulics. Bill of sale, warranty paperwork. Everything. Love the looks with the 60 inch deck. Is there a wiring harness available or is it something I get to make on my own? I was told for the last two years it's been started with a jump pack and glad it doesn't have electric PTO! Don't see a stater solenoid so jumping terminal won't work so there's that. Overall, I'm glad I grabbed it but wiring is not my stronghold. LoL. Any help is appreciated! Will get books out and throw up more pictures

Time for an update. Getting to the point of installing the painted parts as the humidity is not the best for outdoor priming and painting.

FYI, the belt should be on the larger PTO pulley for mowing.

This girl popped up on MP and two members sent me texts about it since it was local. Nice I thought but I already have this one. A nice shiny resto to boot which is most likely my last resto. Just somethin about one in her original work clothes tho. This one fits the bill to a tee. So I'm not really interested it it but still it's a desirable model and pretty much all ther. So @prondzy texts me and I say sure I'll go get it just for the thrill of the score you want it. And @ineedanother says he has a problem... I says work out a deal and be morn' happy to go fetch it. So he does and I do. Not gonna say I'll double yer money Mike but wanna make a quick Franklin?!?!? Naw forget it I got my eye on a A-60. No drinking gas and no magic smoke! What's not to like! I about lost it when she tightened the carb mounting with metric slip joint pliers then jumped the solenoid with a Left Handed Crescent wrench!

Time to design an adaptor and have them 3-D printed, you could corner the market and get rich! Well, maybe cover expenses.

Am I skeptical, and tend to think inside the box. Hate to be a Debbie Downer BUT, If the intake runners were blocked off on six of the eight cylinders and their exhaust valves were jacked open and the two cylinders that were being fed were 180 degrees opposed then the two cylinder engine could easily start and run on an insufficient fuel / air supply.

Look right to me. That's a big Vanguard, likely 21 or 23hp. The tins and double barrel intake manifold are just like my 23hp. I swapped the same flywheel screen for a recoil starter. Then I found out how hard it is to pull start a 23hp engine... The carb on mine cost more than the engine. Finding one that isn't for a vertical configuration is difficult. But they are still out there.

Though they may be Simplicity here is why. The raised lip around the inside hole fits into a groove in the back of the next weight to keep them aligned when stacked. The only ones I have ever seen do that.

I wonder if a Carter AFB 500 CFM would work on our Kohler engines...

That’s funny, the previous owner of my 314-8 had the belt on the smaller pulley. Couldn’t understand why it didn’t cut so good. I figured it out eventually.

I’m at Flite Fest with a buddy. This build took 15 hours, plus a few hours of tech support on site because of an aura board malfunction when they flashed it. I have probably 7 or 8 hours of painting into it and am almost ready to fly! This has been an awesome trip so far, and it goes until Sunday I believe.

Axle just about done - well the hard bit both drive flanges, knuckles and drive shafts in. first offering - its the same track and pivot point as the suburban axle at 16" between centres. what it might look like

I piddled with it a little bit this afternoon, I had acetone, charcoal lighter fluid, goof off, and actual paint stripper, the heavy gel kind, goof off and lighter fluid just barely cleaned the dirt off, acetone turned the rag a little bit pink, the stripper worked, but kinda touchy easy to go too far. I think a mix of acetone thinned stripper and maybe a fine pad or steel wool would be the answer, but it would require some time and detailed attention to it, and then it's still an old crusted crunchy faded out sticker, and then seeing you guys pictures using new stickers on some old paint doesn't look bad at all. I think l'll plan on new decals for the hood

Hoping this roll on bed liner dulls out a little bit when it cures. Otherwise, I may have to dump a couple loads of stone with it.

As a kid I remember pushing a broom, making gauge wheel assemblies for cultivators, etc. I mowed lawns in the neighborhood for spending money. Cecil said I was the best test driver that they had. If I didn't break it, no one could. After coming home from "away school" at 16 years of age in early June, my Dad told me that I could report to the assembly line at 6 am for work. There went my summer at the lake plans. LOL As far as favorites. Not really, I liked them all. As a mechanically minded person, they were all interesting to me. Two summers I worked in the Engineering Department working on parts for new prototypes. Wheel Horse bought a snowmobile company and made them for several years. They bought Elect-Trac from GE and experimented with the idea of making electric tractors.........guess that made them way ahead of the current "green" movement. As a young married adult, I mowed my lawns with a Lawn Ranger and traveled for a year as a Credit Manager checking dealer floor plans. Worked a year in New England as a District Salesman for Maine, NH, VT, and Essex County in MA. Then transferred to Atlanta, GA as the SW Regional Sales Manager with a warehouse and in charge of 5 salesmen.
