Not all smoke is magic. If the smoke is released and it still works then it wasn't magic. Magic smoke is inside electrical equipment and a very important component which is required for them to work. This has been verified because every time the magic smoke is released out of them, it ain't gonna work anymore.

That’s exactly what we do! Especially now that my spotters(aka my kids) are no longer traveling with us. Yes, I had them trained to constantly be on the lookout!

Stopped by a local Antique Engine and Tractor Show today and saw this creation!

Got quite a bit done today while it was raining which we needed. The drought here has been bad (technically exceptional which is the worst category). Swapped dash panels between the 16 Auto and 161 because I switched the electric and manual PTOs. All good to go but a bit of work on the harnesses. Also drilled and tapped the hubs for a second set screw on the 161. Surprised that hadn't been done but it's good to go now. Need to do an oil change on the 161 gear box and get the rear wheel weights on and it will be ready for the FEL

Put a new hood on the Camry my uncle hit the deer with. Took about another hour or so of fussing to the the hood latch to line up right, but now we just have to find a grille for it. Not bad for a couple of amateurs with a hammer and a ratchet strap.

I have five tractors and enough parts to fix just about anything that could possibly go wrong...and I live on 1/2 acre

You think you got a problem. I have a pair of binocs in the truck. I see a farmer junk yard or open barn doors I pull over and scan for round hoods peekin out the weeds. I spy other scrap GTs I'm lockin em up and knocking on doors. I could let Mrs. P drive for a better look around but she drives like Mother Teresa and I like to get where I'm goin...

The 9 pin is a Wheel Horse thing, they wanted a plug and play wiring system so they came up with the 9 pin nonsense to allow attaching the headlights and tach along with engine needs.

I was home alone for most the night, and sat in my ladder stand from 7:30 until after dark. It was very exciting! Around 8:15 a 5 and 6 point, and a doe and fawn strolled through about 200 yards from each other. There was another doe closer to dark that came from my tree stand through the trails, and a monster buck and another deer I never could identify strolled through just behind me. Depending on rain that’s in the forecast, all other conditions are perfect to get the food plot planted! I’m excited for sure!

I’d say not as it still mostly works after it smokes. 😁 The only concern would be once it gets to ear splitting metal on metal then it’s about that level of stress. I haven’t got any tractors yet to that point but that’s how I found out the 312 and 308 needed a PTO clutch…. I’ve had a few butt puckers going from either my gear driven tractors to the C-141 especially when I first got the C running.

It seems to fit with the concept and I’d say motto of a single cylinder Wheel Horse. Simplicity.

I do that too, So does my father, it must be a genetic thing. Technically it’s three and a half tractors I own since 2022….I still look in yards and the sides of roads or FB marketplace..the signature logo definitely fits….😁

Yep, I think I've mentioned that a few times on here. First one I've been able to find that is relatively unmolested and priced in my range.

Just finishing up a Fabricated 42" sd.. Got a buddy with a cnc plasma cutter,, and 4 hrs of shop time got me THIS! 10g. steel top and sides... 14g baffles.. reused all brackets and wheels. Sourced new spindles and pulleys on #bay.

Well....it looks like I've got my winter project lined up, just picked it up today Found this one on FB and after thinking about it for a few days I contacted the seller and we made the deal. The ad listed the tractor, 5' pto mounted finish mower and possibly a push blade (if he could find it!). While I was on the road going to pick it up he texted me and mentioned they found a few more implements and I could have them if I wanted them. Heck yeah!! Included in the package was the tractor, finish mower, snow plow, Brinly disc harrow, what appears to be a Ford 3pt plow and a homemade 3pt plow, and what might be a homemade box blade although it looks pretty decent. It has the optional 15" rear wheels with rear wheel weights. The snow plow is for the B and C series tractors and the sad part is according to the seller, his father bought the blade in new condition from someone who never used it. So basically it's a brand new blade that's been sitting outside for at least 20-30 years. Oddly enough the seat looks almost brand new. It turns out every fall his dad would take the seat off and store it inside, putting it back on in the spring. The gas tank looks solid but there is a distinct possibility it will need to be boiled and then sealed inside to make it useable. The story behind the tractor is the sellers dad bought it 30 years ago and used it for 12 years before parking it, they started using a zero turn which was faster. For 11 of those 18 years that it sat outside unused. Seven years ago he moved it into his basement with the hopes of restoring it. Unfortunately he never got around to it. In theory, it was running and driving when parked. Oh yeah almost forgot, included was the original operators manual AND an original parts list. For the past few days I tried searching for a downloadable parts list and couldn't find one. I am going to scan this one and if possible upload it to the forum. Possibly someone could explain how to do the upload. One quick question, it needs mufflers, are there suitable replacements available that don't cost $603 each as shown on the Toro site. Thanks! Edit: it also came with a 3 pt cultivator and what i thought was the operator manual is actually a service procedure manual that describes all of the new features of the new 18 HP model with detailed descriptions and pictures. The manual was intended for the mechanics that went through their service school.

Today we put down our first and oldest cat, he was 19 years old. I built him a little casket and buried him out back. Was hard for the family, we had nice folks come by the house to do it so he could pass in the comfort of his own home.

I didn't even look at my brake band. Figured if the brakes can stall the engine, they're workin OK.

It is a switch for magneto ignition #116338. If you replace with another part number switch makes sure the other terminals are connected to the appropriate wire.

@mjf8267 while zeroing in on those belts , most important part of that is ? rotational movement EASE AT EVERY PULLEY , its the COLLECTIVE DRAG that kills any belt set up , look for any bearing hang up or roughness , of course bearing WHINE IS TELLING YOU WHAT ? LUBRICATION FAIURE ! that related failure also EATS PTO DRIVE CLUTCHES , every / any related movement area , should move with , smooth / solid / ease . have this set up on my 3 horses , many years in , absolutely no related failures or movement issues , isn,t that what you want ? easy to remove bearing , side grease shields , wipe out , carb cleaner flush out , repack with lucas xtra hd green chassis grease , 550 deg flash point , polyurea rated , stays with bearing , making sense ? I have no bearing failures / or related whyining , basic set up for my 3 horses , never failed , pete

Today was a day off so I enjoyed it and did some straightening up around the house in the morning. Then in the afternoon I went to a friend’s annual Summer party that he has at his house/party area. Here’s some pics. The local band Rapid Transit did 70’s -90’s well done covers of some popular songs as the party wound down. The majority of the band is friends with my friend and a significant chunk of the attendees that they had known for years. The view as my father and I left for home. This is where the party was.

This is my hub puller. Works well. Cheep to make. Plenty of variations have been nade.

as an fyi - - for those who have the traditonal oem weights and have damaged decals in center ----- I checked and found that there are replacement decals available for those in need from REDOYOURHORSE Vinyl Guy?

It uses a Wheelhorse transmission. Same method of shifting as any other you're already familiar with. At one point I had a 1933 Fairbanks Morse 3 HP flywheel engine. I read up on how to adapt it to a Wheelhorse. Never did it because it wasn't practical to us. Very interesting project.

Bar: Looks like it fits well. I wonder about shifting gears? Or is it just one gear? But still it looks like somebody put some time into this figuring out how it’s going to work with a hit and miss installed. I guess if you have the time and the parts you can make anything.

I've been hanging my grease gun in a spot that's low on the wall and keep an old rag under it. Best compromise I guess. I’m having a good chuckle here at the inherent contradiction of wanting grease to penetrate once applied to a bearing or joint but NOT to seep out of the grease gun! Same applies to trying to constrain penetrant decanted into tiny bottles with needle nozzles or with threaded caps 😁
