Hi everyone. My name is Sean. I’m a long time reader on here, first time poster. I have a kiddo now and find myself with some non-shop downtime- who says both can’t involve tractors? Long story short, I worked as a small engine tech putting myself through school. My wife owns a farm, and I grew up working on equipment. Been obsessed with vintage tractors since I got my father’s old 124 Cub Cadet running. Think I was 8. Decided early on I liked machines with a Kohler K series in it. Only have the one wheel horse; though I’d add more. My favorites are the ‘74-‘77 models. I own a 77 C-160 8 speed, with a blower, trailer and a work-worn belly mower. All three attachments are on the original invoice. I purchased the tractor from a family friend who even kept the stickers and brochures from the dealer. Cool stuff. I’m honored to have it. I also own a ‘51 Ford 8N (my mule) and a ‘63 or so Original Cub Cadet. Wish I had begun posting sooner but, gotta start sometime. Thanks for the warm welcomes I have received so far.

This was the annual show in Rosebud, Missouri. This year it was held Friday, July 17, Saturday July 18, and today. I went yesterday. It was hot, mid 90s with a heat index hovering around 105-110. I only took a few pictures, but there were quite a few tractors there. I loved that International B160 truck.

Thank you! Here are the Cadet and the ‘51 N - both family items. Lots of vintage power around! I have the original mower deck for the Cub, however the throw out bearing went on the clutch so, she’s parked for a bit. Kid likes to idle around in 1st gear. The ford has a Wagner loader I’m working on getting up and going. Steering box bearing just went on me though- so for now the Horse has run of the pasture!

Thank you!! Believe it or not, that’s actually my daughter! She absolutely loves the tractors. She’s a little more into the ‘green’ than I’d like….I blame her grandpa! One of her favorite things to do are watch the hit and miss engines at shows. It’s to the point where I almost want to get one to split firewood. I see quite a few C’s in the land of upstate NY where we are. Lots of 120’s. I’ve always wanted to try and find a D series from that era, with the twin Kohler in it. A man can dream!

Took pic of 520H after I took hub caps off and I got tell ya believe I like it better with naked wheels. Wheels and tires look twice as big with them gone.

My buddy Aaron hooked me up with a nice big battery and an inverter to run light duty shore power. It’ll go up in the nose, and maybe even have room for a winch to hook up. I’d love to be able to pull dead stuff in, rather than push it!

I ordered a $10 regulator from EBay for the Raider. The mounting holes are too narrow to use the existing holes in the tower and i wanted to use the original holes and carriage bolts. The terminals on the new one stick out the back also, so it can’t be mounted flush. The band saw made quick work of making an adapter mount out of the old regulator.

The new regulator you bought was designed to be mounted in the air shroud of KT and magnums fins facing in. It is cooled by all the engine cooling air blowing by it. Yo may not have enough air flow in the raider location and it may over heat.

Great introduction, Looks like you are teaching your son well, he has a firm grip on that wrench. The letter series (ABC) are a good choice, simple to work on and can be outfitted with newer attachments.

Maryland has used this method of population control for many years.. The state has two separate zones with two buck tags issued for each zone. After taking a doe, a bonus buck tag can be purchased for each zone for a total of five. Unlimited doe may be taken in the eastern zone where the hunter can make his own tags.

Well, I guess when you get older Mike, you don’t read signs that pretty much sums it up. Cause you know how the song goes. Signs signs everywhere signs. But I have to say sharp looking tractor.

hi AHS, very common problem with the 300, 400 and some 500 series wh tractors. i used to use 1/8 X 1.5" angle iron like ri702bill suggested. now i buy a kit from brockport bill. bolts right on. easy- peasy. also ri702bill makes a nice kit to reinforce the 'F' plate. both kits are well worth the $$$ imo.

I got the B-80 reshorn after taking the wheels, tubes & tires to my friendly local tire shop. I just wasn’t in the mood for doing that. He got them to seal up without the tubes. The blowout: Spare set waiting for the Sandman Scrubbed & ready to paint, more or less. Third coat left, fourth on right (Krylon Ivory) Just like new! (Sort of) Another triumph! I’m almost inspired to give her a lick of Penetrol and do something about that seat. Oh, and paint and remount the weights.

Hi, I'm old. to the Really nice working rig. C-160 .... one of the best Wheel Horse made. Mine didn't work....she just played at the shows.

Cart work with Morgan, the 14-8. 2 loads of firewood. Fortunately, we got a break in the temperature and Canadian smoke today so I didn't sweat and choke too much. Just enough work to get up to operating temperature so I could do an oil change on him.

I had one broken off and the other cracked on my 312-8. I use 1/8" x 1 1/2" steel on top under the shifter plate. It's not welded, just bolted in place with the shifter plate. It's been that way since 2015. I did raise the rear fende, btacket and gas tank 1 3/4" for some 25 " tires. The plastic pipe has the wench wires that connect to the battery.

As long as the shut off valve and the mesh screen in the tank are clean and fully open, there will be plenty of fuel at the pump inlet.

I don't remember what language this interpretation comes from, but in that country the sign says "Parking Reserved for GARY."

I helped my grandfather thresh one time, I carried grain away in burlap sacks, wow what a meal after, was worth the work!

I did a repair to the tail of the C81 hoodstand and posted the repair on the forum. I actually used 2 hoodstands, as one had a good left side, the right half of the other was cracked but not broken off. Made up 2 lower patches of 1/8 x 1-1/2 angle iron and welded them in.

Exciting night last night. This 8 point was about 20 yards from my ladder stand munching on the neighbor’s beans. I suppose I’ll target him, and a few does this year. 414-8 with a 42” RD was the weapon of choice today. She never disappoints!

Keep the seal on after packing with new grease and they'll be perfectly fine. Waste of time and grease filling that entire wheel hub with grease IMO. (For normal intended use anyway) However, If you're "4 wheel'n" with it through the swamps and puddles every week then I would recommend removing the inner seals and flushing them out with new grease through the zerk. Mowing the lawn or towing a trailer, not so much. We have the technology they didn't have back in the day with the seals, so use them until they fail many years down the road and let your grandchildren replace them when necessary. (Stay away from the stamped steel bearings sealed or not )
