7 pointsI had a small shopping list for this years show. Already had an 867 coming from Jim, so didn’t have to shop the show for a short frame start/gen machine, but was also on the lookout for a C-81. Not a super desirable model but I really wanted one. Last year there were no C-81’s for sale. Found this one on Thursday morning. It’s a 1978 and its in real nice shape! The story is that it was a Phil Bowling (I hope I got his name right!) tractor and after he passed it ended up in someone else’s hands. And this year it went up for sale to reduce someone’s collection. Grabbed a show shirt, 8 speed drive belt and a pair of rear wheels/tires…and that’s it.

7 pointsHere's my Johnson City tx tractor show today all my wheel horse line up ready for the show

7 pointsI’m one of those that decided to head home Friday night. Not only did I not want to show up to a rainy day I also knew it would be a fraction of what the show was on Thursday & Friday. And I was able to drive home at normal highway speeds on dry pavement pulling my trailer, much preferred over driving in the rain. Hope those that stayed enjoyed what was left.

7 pointsJune 27, 1973 "Dream On" by Aerosmith, featured on their debut album “A power ballad” written by lead singer Steven Tyler, was their first major hit and became a classic rock radio staple.

6 pointsMy wife thinks I'm doing something questionable. I found both my "straight from the horses mouth" and they were perfectly fine as well. I also found all our documents safe and sound, and all the photo albums were dry and undamaged other than having a bit of smell of course. We have been very lucky all things considered.

4 points@squonk had a great idea, why not include a 20th anniversary RedSquare banner in the Big Show Raffle! One lucky person going home with a #3 of 3 20th anniversary RedSquare banner, will that be you?

4 pointsSorry Bob, I also bailed out Friday night. It's a real hassle trying to cover and uncover the buckets in wet weather. If I can find some young volunteers to help, maybe next year I'll unload in a barn. I did have two great days having some good conversations with many old members of my WH family. Also got to meet a few new members. I do have one suggestion for all us young members. Please wear your name tag like I do cause many of the more experienced members have filled thier data storage center and do not have room to store anymore names or faces. Anyway, safe travels to all. I just finished unloading the buckets till the next show. Oh Bob, I did find one more PTO brake bracket while unloading.

4 pointsThank you very much. I think my daughter set something up but I have no idea what yet. But thank you so much for the thought. Greatly appreciated. We did find out today that they are approving a camper on site as opposed to putting us up somewhere else. This is a huge blessing because we will be at home instead of driving all over the place. Given we have so many critters to look after, this is awesome!

3 pointsThis is what I ended up doing, and I expect it will work well for the small items I sometimes carry. The basket I got at Lowes and is an over the cabinet basket in their home goods department. I straightened the hooks that would fit over a cabinet door so they rest on top of the seatback, and held the basket in place with cable mounts and Zip ties.

3 pointsSickle mower has been on my bucket list for at least 20yrs now but just haven't been able to connect with one. @cafoose has one and its the only one Ive eve seen in the wild around here. Wished he would hurry up and get bored with it and pass it on to me.
-
3 pointsAlmost to nice..but I’ll grease it and swap fluids and then she’s getting a 36”RD to prove it deserves a spot here!
-
3 pointsHope your happy with it. If not Pullstart will gladly buy it back. If the SG fails take it out of 'Fish"s hide. I mighta forgot to tell you the engine on it is a service motor I had on a 875. Prolly wouldn't hurt to change the break in oil and re-torgue the head after a couple hours.

3 pointsThat garage/shop looks like it’s only 4 times the size of the house, kinda small

3 pointsI don't get it, what's wrong with the picture? Looks perfectly fine to me.

3 pointsSo in the end, it wasn't the condenser so much as it was a coil without a resistor, or enough resistance and that was causing the points to burn up. The fact that the ground jumper for the shaker plate broke at the same may or may not have had any bearing on the situation. This was my first time around with a battery powered ignition, I thought a coil was a coil, and was running a new coil as a matter of course. Turns out not enough resistance, point crapped out in about an hour With the help of 953 nut, Gwest and several others I was able to learn about battery powered ignitions and get it back running. thanks everybody

3 pointsI've been working over a C101 recently, the original paint was in very bad shape, I wanted to do something but also wanted to keep the original look. I chose penetrol and was very pleased with it, the paint is still ratty, burned out and mostly missing, but it now has kind of a matte sheen to it. Home depot or Ace hardware will have it in the paint department

3 pointsI was too busy having fun to take a bunch of photos but I had a blast as usual. Special thanks to everyone who volunteers and all who travel in to make this show so great!👍This community of people is unparalleled. VID_20260626_114003401.mp4 VID_20260626_204748710~2.mp4

3 pointsSince I have multiple colors of tractors, does that mean I have a multiple multiple personality disorder
-
3 pointsI had one for 20-25 years before the move to Florida in 2000 when it was sold in the auction. After coming back up here in 2017 I started looking for another one. Finally, after running an ad, I found one less than 15 miles from here. A guy bought it in an auction and after realizing seeing that it was so rusted solid he must have figured it was unsavable. I didn't see it that way. Here's the thread. Sickle Bar Finally - Implements and Attachments - RedSquare Wheel Horse Forum If ya need one you'll know. Mine runs at about a 45° angle about 90% of the time. I keep the briars that intrude on the paths out back clear. The Wheel Horse model doesn't angle down but a very few degrees. I've heard the Haban will go more but I can't verify.
-
3 pointsWell then, that explains my multiple personality disorder.

2 pointsMy home caught fire this afternoon. No one was injured (one cat had some smoke inhalation) but the house is not habitable. Shockingly, my garage area and tractors was the only part that recieved no damage. The fire was in the attic, and only two rooms were badly burned. Unfortunately the rest of the damage came from putting it out. Ceilings were pulled down and tonight when I left, whatever wasn't torn down was falling from all the water required to put it out. Not sure what comes next but I ask that those of you who believe will keep my family in your prayers. It's gonna be tough for a while on us just having somewhere to call home. And thank God for first responders. They were on site 2 minutes after I called 911. Amazing individuals! And thanks ahead of time for the prayers. The fact that my family is safe is a blessing in itself!

2 pointsSo sad to see it so empty so early. It drizzled, not as bad as previous years, but there was so much talk of weather, I feel it drove so many away 😞. Still had a great time and had fun talking with you Bob and your grandson!!
-
2 pointsNice score on the C81! Funny enough, yesterday while I was at the show, my dad let me know that one of his friends had a C81 that he wanted to get rid of. I wasn't too keen on it, but after seeing your post, and seeing van work on his B80, it might a be a fun project to pick up. Great talking with you and your son on Friday! Maybe he will have to get a rooster tattoo!
-
2 pointsGiving it the @Pullstart overhead storage system, I figure you could cram about 300 Long frame Horses in there, or 1.5 times that for RJ's..... and leave enough room for a Fabricating Shop...

2 pointsTypical cut off saw run with a flat belt off older tractot. They were quite common in the thirtys thrue the fiftys here in farm country. Used for smaller logs and slabs that could be lifted on the table. EB could make good use of one with his smaller fire wood.
-
2 pointsMaybe… or it could be like a mood ring.. red for angry, yellow for happy, which ever mood you’re in use that color tractor that day.🙂

We will be posting the Friday and Saturday group photos with numbers assigned to each person soon. Please respond to that thread so the whole Red Square community will know wjho you are.

2 pointsFallowing the thread I added above will allow the safety switches to remain actives with no major wiring changes. Looking at the battery 103990 switch next to the magneto switch 103991 I decided to see what would happen if a 103991 (Magneto) switch was placed in a Battery Ignition tractor. With the exception of a frustrated person wondering why nothin works the outcome would be rather harmless. In the OFF position the R and A terminals would be connected Ground, no big deal. In the RUN position the I, A and R terminals would be connected, nothing would happen but no harm would come of it. In the START position the S an I terminals would be connected, once again nothing would happen but no harm would come of it. On the other hand, if this situation were turned around and the 103990 (Battery Ignition) switch were placed in a Magneto tractor things get a bit more interesting and a whole lot more expensive. In the OFF position none of the terminals are connected and all is well. In the RUN position the B, R, A and M terminals are connected and magic smoke will be released from the Magneto. In the START position the B, A, S and M terminals will be connected and the engine will turn over but there will be no spark because the magneto already is toast.

2 pointsWe just had a WhatsApp call with the Finnish exchange student we had during the 2000, 2001 school year. He is now a doctor, his wife is a dentist, and they have 5 kids. They built a house on her dad's farm. During the call, he was wandering around the farm. He showed us the firewood processing machinery. It is a buzz saw very similar to to this one. On the other end of the shaft from the saw blade it has a splitting device. Basically, it is a disc with a splitting edge. His description - "this is the axe, very, very dangerous to use".

2 pointsMade it to the show today, it’s the only day we went. I talked with quite a few people, everybody was friendly. I recognized a few other folks from pictures on here but I didn’t want to be that guy and barge in when they’re busy or talking with other people. I did buy merchandise and signed up for whcc, got my sickle bar from a gentleman, and drove the tractor around with the warden for a while. I also got in the redsquare group photo (I think). Good overcast day, the food was good and priced good as well. Now I know what to look forward to if we go next year, I appreciate all the info on here as it helped me at the show. Will be heading back to our 6 hour drive first thing in the morning. I see a lot of rain for tomorrow’s forecast. I will post pictures I took on here when I get better service tomorrow.

1 pointTrina and her momma built and modified/ reinforced this cat apartment today. She bought a kit off rhe jungle site. Added a ton of extra screws, staples, and extra latches. Also added the board ramps to ease climbing for a week or two.
