Well things finally caught up with me and I got a call from a County Sheriffs Deputy yesterday (fake) All thought they missed the big items, (Ha), and just said the judge fined me and sent warrants since I didn't report to Federal Jury Duty Tuesday. (fake) Had a real official mannerism. Had my name, address, garbled a Drivers License number (wouldn't repeat it) He did a bunch of official sounding jaw jacking and fake sheriff radio background noises. Claimed to be Sheriffs Deputy, said he could put me in touch with a bond company over the phone to get an immediate bond, pay with credit card loan, so I don't get picked up and hauled in tonight. Too many little things seemed fake so I hung up. I texted the local Sheriffs office, yep scam they are well aware of but calls are not trace able. I got the same call twice today. (interesting the call came in as "Maybe (wife's name) each time So I started having fun wasting his time. Asked him if he knew my cousin in County Jail there or, my brother Bill from another mother! (he didn't catch that one) I told him I could trade him some good tractor parts, but that they probable would never bond me since I hung around online with the Tractor Mafia (I should get a Mafia T shirt for that one) and on and on. I finally asked him what $ cut he got for "arranging" the bond and he hung up. O the crafty crap that is out there these days.

Finally got a chance to take the camper out. Sure seems like I stay awful busy to be retired. Went to a local state park that has a stocked stream of trout. The first couple of days I really caught trout-- well, in comparison to my normal number of them. I probably caught 15 in 1 1/2 days. Last week the stream was flooded--mainly from water backing up from the flooded small river it dumps into. I would say that where the stream dumps into the river, the water level was 8 to 10 above normal. I'm not into fishing deep enough that I have a vest and all of the equipment some of the fishermen use. I'm not good at fly fishing ( all though I enjoy watching someone who has mastered that pole) and only fly fish when I'm "playing." I cut my trip short by a night's stay. Weather radio was calling for possible up to base ball size hail, strong winds and possible tornado. When the park staff went around handing out flyers telling of storm watches and where tornado shelters were, I ( and some of my camping neighbors) decided time to go home. I live about 45 minutes drive from the campground and we had thunderstorms but nothing severe and I likely could have weathered the storm in the camper just fine. Better safe than sorry I suppose. Below is my fishing rig. Really handy because I can ride right up to where I'm fishing. I carry a little cutting board so I can dress fish steam side. I used a moped for several years but it was restricted from bike trails and quite a bit heavier. I roll the bike in backwards into my pickup with the camper shell (handle bars fold down) so it's out of the weather and more secure at night.

My favorite is the grandkid in trouble scam. You get a phone call from some far away Police Station claiming your grandchild was arrested and wants you to wire the money for them to post bail.... I tell them "Fat chance on that!!! I really don't like that little ba$tard that much anyway!! Go punt"!!

I challenge myself to see how long I can keep them on the line. Use my 110 yo voice Fake poor hearing to get them to repeat everything Let them know you appreciate thier call and remind them to call thier mother every day Then when it's time for my lunch, tell them I can't remember my bank account and routing numbers but if he gives me his address I will have my Grandson meet him at his door. My grandson is a 250 lb 6' 5" ex marine that is now a state policeman.

Yup. Got a call from a Fraud Detection Center about my bank account. Sounded fake so I hung up. Couple days later my card stops working. Went into the bank and checked why. Somebody somehow got my bankcard # last week. They tried to spend 4 grand at a bicycle place. The bank saw it and shut the account down. I'm glad all it took was getting a new card.

Did some mowing trying to beat the rain yesterday. Triple teamed it with both my boys, youngest on the zero turn, oldest on the Kubota, dear old dad gets mowers choice on the C160.

Trina's mom has been retired and on SS for a couple decades. She's below the income level that's required to pay taxes. A couple years ago she got a call saying that "the cops" were on the way over. Cops? Really? We couldn't find a more official descriptor?

A few years ago I dropped my wife off at the Atlanta airport, two and a half hour drive, and stopped to pick up a few groceries on the way to the house, credit card was declined so I had to use the Debit Card, no problem. Called the credit card company when I got home and they said the card had just been used in Palm Beach, Florida, and I couldn't be in two places at the same time. Explained that the wife was there and thanked them for their attention to detail. From that time on I have notified them if she and I will not be in the same place. The same card company has intervened for me several times when questionable purchases have been made. I've lost count of the number of new card numbers they have provided me over the years.

I get the need for speed when rains coming in. But I enjoy mowing and the seat time it gives me, so a slow WH is just fine with me.

Yup, every day or so I get a call from someone claiming to be able to help me with my overdue taxes before I'm arrested. Funny that they think I would even fall for their scam. I don't know how others do.

@rmaynard My 875 has that pin. It does nothing. All I can see it possibly do is limit how far down you can lower the throttle bracket

So it was not the brushes. Full-field test showed S/G unit works fine. I took the cover off the regulator and found large carbon build up on the starter contacts. I cleaned both sets of contacts inside the regulator and it now cranks fine, and charging came up to 12.7V. This regulator is fully adjustable, so I fiddled with it a bit and left the charging voltage at 13.3. I know 13.5 is optimal, but 13.3 is close enough for me.

Just had one this AM, a sweet southern belle voice answered checking on my SS A &B status. After using my 110 yo demented voice, she transferred me to her supervisor.. Had the Indian accent supervisor on the string for 10 minutes till he didn't want to meet my 250 lb state policeman grandson.

Hello all, I put my 520-8 up for sale on page 13 of the big show sale thread. Figured id add it here too to catch those not looking over there. Late to party, last minute for sale... 520-8 with good 42" s/d deck (blades nfg) Unit has 875 hours and clock works. All idiot lights and gauges work. Fresh oil and good battery. Yes it does need some light bulbs and minor doo dads. But it is still solid and very strong Tractor was used but not abused and runs great with no smoke or bad noises. Charging system works. I had plans to tear it apart and do a resto mod / rebuild it the way I would build a "520" and have come to realise I have enough 500 series parts laying around to build one using a 300/400 series as a starting platform. $1500 is my number... with genuine Wheel Horse wheel weights bring $500+ I feel this piece of Wheel Horse lore is worth it. I will haul to big show if paid in advance. Thanks Tony Andover CT (860)978-9039

I got one of these a few weeks ago. Text message from PennDOT about outstanding tolls etc etc, suspend my license, yadda yadda. Enough details were right to make it sound legit, and enough process was wrong to know it's BS. PennDOT doesn't have my cell number, and they don't send those notices by text, they use registered mail. I ignored it, next day I saw a story on a local new website about this is a known scam.

The pic above of the analog voltmeter is deceptive. It's too deep front to back to fully seat in the dash plate by about 3/8". It hits the steering shaft support collar so I had to swap it temporarily until I find another one that is shorter front to back. It's temporary, so I don't want any lip from you fellas. But I thought it was funny to put on an old tractor just for now.

Yes sir, I know that feeling. I bought a new Toro zero turn in 2002. 72” deck, 26hp fuel injected Kohler, it was an absolute mowing beast. I got 23 years of literal trouble free service out of it, literally not one thing ever messed up with it until last year when the ecu went out. It’s been at a Toro dealer for months trying to get it figured out, so I decided to buy a Wheel Horse to use in the mean time and that’s how I ended up here. Funny how for decades my goal was to just get it done as fast as possible, and it ultimately led me to hate mowing. That and it was my job for years as I worked in golf course maintenance. Getting these 2 old wheel horses has actually made mowing fun for me again. I do miss my big zero turn though, I babied it and it only has 700 hours. I always maintained it and kept it inside. The guys at the Toro dealer can’t believe how good of condition it’s in. It will still have its place when I hopefully get it back but so will my Wheel Horses.

As the throttle lever end moves downward from the pull of the cable, it rotates the speed control disc in a CCW direction. The drive pin is supposed to be there to assure the disc moves that way too.

Simplicity's aren't very simple Got the transmission pulled out of the parts tractor and it was not simple. I almost thought I was going to have to completely disassemble the tractor until I realized I can rotate and twist the transmission and hub through the hole on the left plate. I can definitely appreciate how easy the Wheelhorse's are to work on. 6 bolts and remove the belt and parking brake linkage and the wheelhorse hydros come right out. And you don't even have to remove the wheels.

We may never know, as all of mine that have that type of disk do not have a pin. I know that @wallfish knows a bit more about these things than I. Maybe he will add his These questions concerning the governor from me have been generated by my problem that I am having with my Commando 8. I think that I will start another thread specifically on that subject so that it doesn't get lost in this one.
