Getting in a weeks vacation at my favorite beach before the Show. Half the clan rolled in Saturday. This is the first time to rent this VRBO. Put the crab pots in and caught a few fish on Sunday. The ospreys are looking good. Quite a few nesting. Gotta luv my crowded beach walks. 20 mph NE this morning, so the boat stayed at the dock today. Made the crew a hunters breakfast eggs, home fried spuds, deer sausage, deer scrapple, Then some rest for the old bones. And some Red Square time. Oops, I hear the rest of the crew arriving. Installed my last new drive belt on the C-85 this afternoon. Much better clutch pedal action! I don’t like NOT having 8 speed drive belts in stock here. Usually have two new ones on the shelf. Hopefully K&B WH Parts has a couple at this years Wheel Horse Show (hint hint @76c12091520h ) This post gives me a chance to show off the rig

Well I did not get her running today. Some dummy wired something wrong last week and it took a while to figure it out. But she is now mechanically ready, and I have 12V at the coil and it has strong spark. All that is left is to run the fuel line. Maybe tomorrow.

About the name, so the 73's are the no-name year for wheelhorse so I figured it needed a name. Well these are wheelhorses, so I thought what horse name or breed? Morgan horses are a reddish color and also used as multi purpose plow horses back in the day. Which is what this tractor is gonna be, a multi purpose plow horse 8 speed with hydraulics. This is going to be a continuation of my 73 wheelhorse for reference here is the original thread. It is not a C120 it is a 1973 14-8 and I am planning on returning it to a 14HP Kohler (12hp on it now is fairly worn) and add hydraulics this photo should give some idea of what is coming. This one will require some patience it's going to take some time. Also thanks to the Wisconsin boys @WHX?? @Achto for their help in making this possible.

Morning... sitting on the "new" 953 out in front yard with cup of Joe. Bought this yesterday not running... but with my pit crews help (Mike, John, Gary & Paul) we had it running and it did a victory lap under its own power in 15 minutes. CHECK OUT THE SEAT!!! Guy says he took apart an office chair, cut vinyl off. Re-cut the plywood and foam to fit then recovered and stapled! LMAO its PERFECT!! Can't wait for the show, see you soon! Spent the day today reinstalling one of the air conditioners on our 1987 Avion travel trailer. It originally had only one, installed over the center of the trailer. It always did real well, but because our travels usually take us to Baton Rouge (an upcoming trip in mid July), we would really be in a pickle if our only air conditioner pooped out. So, I ordered a new one and installed it in the center, then wanted to install the old one over the rear bedroom where a roof vent already was. So today, I removed the vent, which was a Hammond vent with a two-speed fan. These Hammond vents had radiused corners as opposed to square. The opening in the roof was already 14", so I had to use some snips to sqare up the opening, then installed the air conditioner. Then, ran some romex and connected it to a breaker. Checked it out and it works well. So, It will be available if we need it! I still need to enclose about three feet of romex in some stick-on cover that I can get at Lowes. My next project will be to convert this trailer from 30A service to 50A service..... maybe this Fall when it's cool.

We slept in today. However, we did manage to get some stuff done - finished setting up the lake house porch, and did some other general rearranging. After dinner, I went searching for the lake house septic tank clean out hatch. Ever see the movie Holes? Actually, it only took 4 holes. Amazingly, the cover was about the same place I started probing the ground. I misunderstood the results of my probing - false readings on rocks and roots, I guess.

When I wat to get rid of old gas I put it in a shallow pan and allow it to evaporate. Takes a little time but it is far better than sitting at the roadside awaiting a tow truck, besides, I am retired so watching bad gas evaporate gives me something to do.

That seat is actually pretty nice. The guy did a good job The sound of firing one up from a supposedly "non runner" never gets old

Pressure washed my Kubota L225 yesterday. Best I can remember off the top of my head it’s a ‘79 model. Was my stepdads, he bought it in 1996 so it’s been in our family for 30 years now. He passed away about 3 years ago but I’ve had the tractor in my possession now for around 10 years. This is the first tractor I ever ran and in my early 20’s ultimately lead me down the path of pursuing a turf degree and 24 years of golf course work. It is well worn and could stand a rebuild but still starts and runs flawlessly. It’s had gasoline put in it 2 times over 20 years ago. Not while in my possession but one time accidentally by my stepdad and once by my cousin who was going to do my stepdad a “favor” and mow the pasture for him LOL. Luckily both times it was caught fairly quickly but I’m certain some damage, albeit minimal was done. Even with that we still use it to mow about 3 acres every week. My oldest son runs it now but every time I get on it brings back good memories. I always thought it was ugly as sin but it’s hard to argue with the amount of service it’s provided.

The wife had 4 cubic yards of "Mushroom dirt " delivered to put in totes for tomatoes, peppers zucchini ect. She had them dump it in the drive way. She has used half of it. I put 4 loader buckets full into a flower bed. There's about a 1/4 of it left in the driveway in her way. I keep asking where she wants me to put it and she hasn't made up her mind. I hope it's not there this winter!

Had that problem with a previous drain field. If you attach a 2" PVC pipe to the tank outlet pipe you can use this to add a couple of pounds of Copper Sulfate to kill the roots. I did this once a month for a year and then went to once every other month for a year. Everything was flowing well and I continued to do this once every three months.

Those symptoms could be a faulty condenser. To test this just disconnect the condenser from the ignition coil, the engine can run without it for a short time for testing. If an engine idles well, but runs erratically when revved up, like it hits and misses, pops and backfires, then chances are, it needs a new condenser/capacitor. And always install a condenser/capacitor with the wire facing downward so rain water and/or when washing off engine, water will not enter inside condenser/capacitor, ruining it. With water inside the condenser, this will also allow it to idle well, but cause it to run erratically when revved up.

Most of those guys will have a spring loaded razor sharp expandable bit that will conform to the pcv walls and slice the roots out. May enlarge the pipe a few thou!

Sounds like you may have linkage/control problems. Have you removed the seat pan to clean the top and front of the transmission?

That gap is actually much larger than it appears to be. And the tabs are about 1/4 inch below the brace. But yes, when I'm sure it's all working as it should I'll put something over it.

Been running Lucas Green in mine for a few years. No issues.

I have a thread in the engine section about an 856 that would die after 30-40 minutes. She is running okay again!!!! the problem resolved mostly to the owner using last years regular ethanol gas stored in old metal cans over the winter. He got a new plastic can and some ethanol free gas today and after we cleaned out the tank she ran great...I asked him what he did with the the year old funky gas...He put it in his van....????

We've got a small Coleman. The a/c is a through the wall unit over the bed. Noise is an issue. We got the bright idea that a roof top unit would be quieter - maybe. Also, a heat pump would give us the option of heat. Not gonna happen until later this year, though. I'm wondering about roof framing considerations. Ought to figure that out before chopping a hole in the roof.

I’ve been running some old gas through a lawnmower at about 2:1 ratio of fresh to old (not super old, though, and stabilized). I’ll keep increasing the percentage of bad gas until it becomes a problem. Hasn’t yet. I don’t think a gallon or so in a full tank on the vehicle is gonna hurt either, as long as it’s not full of crud. Update: In light of this thread, I just couldn’t resist the temptation to pour 5 gallons of 0% ethanol gas from 6/2024 (with PRI-G stabilizer and Lucas injector cleaner) into the truck, then topped off the tank at the pump, then ran most of it through (200+ miles) with no issues (yet!). I figure I would have had one by now like a clogged filter or something. Truck ran fine and that old gas was properly and economically disposed of. That PRI-G is really good stuff combined with 100% gasoline.

In the good ole days we cleared brush from fence rows on mother-in-laws farm by putting bad gas in jugs then place them with several lit candles near. Standing way back and shooting at the jugs was a beautiful thing.

If there is enough good gas already in the tank nothing wrong with doing that. Got to get rid of it somehow. Done it many times.

C-85 I bought awhile back has always had two leaky fronts. Been stored in the shed up on blocks so the rubber wouldn’t get ruined sitting flat..well today I decided to tube em both. I hate tubing the small tires ! This old HF tire changer comes in handy still. But now it’s done and the big test will be to see if they stay “up”.

I do the same thing. It's a 30 gallon tank so a gallon of questionable gas into 25 + gallons isn't going to hurt anything. I will only do about a gallon at a time. Of coarse you don't dump in any particles that would clog a filter or water at the bottom. It's better than dumping it on the ground.
