13 pointsMay 9, 1964, the great Louis Armstrong, age 63, broke the Beatles’ stranglehold on the U.S. pop charts with the #1 hit “Hello Dolly.” Following the ascension of “I Want to Hold Your Hand” to #1 in early February, the Beatles held the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for three and a half solid months—longer than any popular artist before or since. But just when it seemed that no homegrown act would ever stand up to the British invaders, one of the least likely American stars imaginable proved himself equal to the task: jazz trumpeter Louis Armstrong.

10 pointsToday was our local clean up day and they take tires so I took up all of our tires that we nolonger needed. The trailer is a 6 by 12 to give scale to how many tires we had

8 pointsToday was 1st show of year in my area. Not a huge turnout due to overnight rain. It was a neighboring county antique engine club- I'm a member. Only took the Suburban diesel. Ran it around for a couple hours with no issues thankfully. It was extremely wet & muddy though. Few times I thought I was gonna get stuck! Spent rest of afternoon cleaning truck, trailer, tractor, jeans, boots, etc🙄

6 pointsMy flight outa Guam headed to Hawaii this morning didn’t go well and we had to do a u-turn out over the ocean for an electrical burning smell. Stuck in the Guam airport now for awhile (maybe another whole day ) Looking out the window of the United Airlines lounge and I’m staring at this airport tug and thinking how cool would it be to own one of these. Who’s got one?? Imagine it shot red with linen beige wheels @wallfish…and it’s got TWO seats !!

5 pointsYou want some real pop Squirrel paint the grass screen red ... ask me how I know ... It was a terrible day for wrenching here. took four hours to install some solids. The holes would just not line up and that's what she said. Got it in the end but what a fight considering the last one only took an hour. Not only that @Achto busted a brand new piston ring and invented some brand new french. I'll let him explain.

5 pointsNew to me c-100 came with mower deck in pretty good shape.runs a little choppy but fired right up. Paid 400 bucks. Met a guy threw here and once I heal up from surgery I do believe she'll have a plow for her too.

5 pointsWasn’t really sure what I would end up with on this 125.00 314H and 48” Blade. First was a good scrubbing after installing a temporary spindle and front tires. Then some fresh gas and battery. With fingers crossed and a few shots of carb cleaner it came to life. Motor sounds good and the hydro seems strong. Next up will be new filters, fluids, belt, spark plug. Still need to find the correct right front spindle. I’m a happy camper with this one.

5 pointsStator disconnected, mounting bolts out and oil draining. I'm going to pull the filler tube and turn it over for balance gear removal...new one for me but I trust this is the time to git'er done.

5 pointsSometimes you luck out. I got this one from @RJ Hamner I think there was a tree growing in there too. Put a sip of gas in it and a new battery and fired right up and sounded great. The 8 speed needed taken apart and cleaned up but it turned out good. Turned out good but a ton of work.

4 pointsThanks. I really tried to make it as subtle as possible. Took very little modification to make it work. It clatters & rolls coal. Had to remove & make/modify exhaust, air filter, crank breather, & fuel overflow reservoir. Didnt wanna drill/tap original fuel tank. Ebay diesel. Think its the same on Amazon. It has a decompression lever. Its hard starting in cold weather but if its over 60° it always starts on the 1st pull.

4 pointsThe D series had the notch in them for the valve stem, because the stem was on the outside of the wheel, whereas the C series it is on the inside.

4 points953 nut, thank you!!! It was the purple wire that was bad. We made a bypass wire with a new diode and it works perfectly. For anyone with the same issue, Kohler makes a kit, part number, 25 755 31-S. Thanks again to all of you for helping me troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

4 pointsInteresting to see how Wheel Horse tried to adapt to the changing times. 1968 Charger 9 model 1-7931 1968 Charger 9 model 1-7932 1968 Charger 12 model 1-7231 1968 Commando 6 model 1-4631 1968 Commando 7 model 1-3731 - Export model made in USA with horizontal shaft 1968 Commando 8 model 1-4831 Not obvious until you see them in a list like this. In 1969 the 4th digit changed from a 3 to a 4. (Add 5 to the 4th digit to get the model year) (A bit later they subtracted 5 from the added -6th digit to get the model year.

4 pointsI guess my question is why was it disassembled? internal issues? Might want to post some pics of the wear parts and see if the boys can spot some issues. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out which axle goes in which case by how the differential sits in the cases.
-
4 pointsMike, you had the prefect foundation to create a tug from about a year and a half ago and got rid of it. That C-185 ELEC-TRAK with two seats would be the same look and it would be a .

4 pointsWorked on my trailer yesterday. Bought it in 2019 and the powder coat immediately started peeling off just the fenders. So I scraped all the coating off, sanded primed and painted each one. checked bearings today and had to snug them up some. Aired up the tires and lubed the moving parts of the hitch, jack, and gate. Had to relocate the license plate because I stepped on the back of the trailer and the front came up, back went down and snapped my license plate holder off the taillight. 😡. Now it’s mounted to the ramp sans light. Today I had to mow, waited a bit for grass to dry. While I waited I changed the mower drive belt on my Timecutter HD. There were 3 cracks in the old one that I noticed on spring maintenance. Very easy to do, just needed my spring hook to release the tension spring. Now I don’t have a belt squeak when turning the pto on. Tension spring has more tension on it too.

3 pointsWasn't looking for a snowblower, but happened to catch a good deal on a really clean tall chute nearby our office in Plymouth, MI. Should be a nice upgrade from my crusty old short chute. Just need to take it the @peter lena school of lubrication before I store it for the summer.

3 pointsSad but true. Got up early this morning in hopes to wrap up an engine rebuild. Got to the point of installing the rings on the piston. Bottom ring went well, got to the second ring and of course it dropped in the top groove. Was carefully walking it around and.......snap. After the words of choice stopped I lit a thinking stick and went for about a 1/4 mile walk to calm down. Well as they say "Crap happens". I'm over it, new parts are on the way, hopefully next time will turn out better.

3 pointsBig plans for the day, carried a pallet of sod for a neighbor and got to work. Managed to remove grenade gears from the 16 Auto before another neighbor literally begged for help re-siding part of his house Canceled date night with the wife and didn't get much else done.

3 pointsTook a quick run up to our Michigan property. It is still there. The yard needs a cleanup and mowing. This will be seat time on Morgan, the 14-8 no name. Got the PO box emptied, title transfer and plates for the trailer that came with the GC1720, and made a run to Lansing to meet with my nephew. Got back to our Mo. property last night. Spent today continuing demolition on the deck so the plumbers can start excavation to fix the broken sewer pipe Monday. When I pull a permit for the replacement deck, I'm going to ask if there was ever a permit issued for the deck I am pulling down. If there was, I don't know how it would have passed inspection - it has some pretty shady construction features.

3 pointsIn 8th grade, as “New Math” was being introduced, our math teacher was pragmatic--she taught the full-year “old” curriculum for the first term and the full-year “new” curriculum for the second. Acknowledging my eccentricity, I enjoyed it all!
