Morning, Came across this on marketplace.. seller about 50 miles round trip.. asking $10.00. Said he’s sat on seat and it’s not rusted through but will need 2 new 4.80/4.00-8 tires. Had idea of once I get my 856 driving running again. Would it be a safe or good idea to fix this up, paint it to match 856 and have someone ride on it behind possibly with a tongue extension between the tractor hitch and sulky?

A few weeks ago I posted a video of a guy I know blowing snow on his farm with a big John Deere. Yesterday I went past his farm and he had the doors of what was the family’s potato barn open. So I stopped in to say hi and snapped a few pictures. Two of these Farmalls were bought brand new by his family. Obviously they have been restored! They have been farming in this area for over 350 years. Yes 350 years. While we were talking, his uncle stopped by and was telling us about farming potatoes in their heyday. About filling the barn to the rafters with potatoes year after year and the amount of men, machinery and time it took. It was very interesting, I felt like I could have listened to him all day. I could actually see it in his eyes how proud he was of his family farm.

There were a variety of cast iron or stee3l lugs that could be bolted to the steel wheels for traction. Here I am at about three years old on out family Farmall with my Dad.

March 21, 1952, 20,000 people attempt to attend the first-ever rock & roll concert when Alan Freed presents "The Moondog Coronation Ball" at the old 12,000-seat Cleveland Arena; performers include Paul Williams and the Hucklebuckers, Tiny Grimes and the Rocking Highlanders, The Dominoes, and Varetta Dillard.

I feel like snow season is over for me…so the 867 hauled the summer tires/wheels to the garage and the winter ones back to the basement.

I just finished up putting on longer front spindles on the 1257 and greased everything up, along with tie rod adjustment. There was nothing wrong with the original ones, but the longer ones help a bit with the stance since there’s big tires on the back and also helps with clearance.

The Farmall F-14 came out in the late 1930s. It was more common to see steel wheels than rubber tires. For today's parades and shows, it's also common to cover the steel rims with a smoother surface, like the "slicks", to keep the steel rims from damaging road surfaces. If that F-14 would be used in the field, it wouldn't have those "slicks" coverting the steel rims, as it would robbed the tractor of any traction.

Haven't done much yet today, but we took the kids, (daughter, son, and son's "She's not my girlfriend") skating last night, for the second Friday in a row. Something tells me we don't have long before that title gets shortened a bit.

I bought this from Mike a.k.a. Sparky a few years ago. This came from the big show in 23 or 24. Maybe Mike can chime in. I believe around there. I was going to sell this one until I took it out of the shed and could not believe how it started right up after sitting out there for six months. I’ve been tweaking it a little bit for the last couple days. The last thing I needed for it was a coil so I bought an Excel coil #8140. I got this info from squawk. He used to be electrician so I figured he knows what he’s talking about. This is a nice little tractor.Great for going around in the shows. So hopefully I did better on this video than the last. Let me know what you’re thinking. I’m a big boy I can take it. I look up in the manual section and this engine is an A prefix so that being it is a 65 engine in a 66 frame. Again enjoy the vid. Saw that polar vortex was kicking at you guys again. Luckily I don't think it'll reach us this time. We've already seen 90 degrees several days here in the last 3 weeks. Also had a swing to 20 in the same 12 hour period. Pretty normal spring for us I guess.

I cannot show you, so I just will tell you. I tried to open this on my phone but got such an ad blast that no way I could even post Trying to get ahead so I cleaned the deck down to very tight rust and gave it two coats of cured Ospho. The 416 was the champion starter in the cold so she is getting the mower mounted for now. I might go through the deck collection and put AgriGuard on last year's deck to preserve it . I can order a gallon of it for a hundred dollars and for me I have found nothing better, Now with this cell phone problem I guess it might be time for a VPN . I don't think that AI is gonna make it better. and also now mustie1 is a paywall and Taryl as well. Thanks YouTube i was gonna use the C160 hydro for snow plowing , but it would not turn over with the spark plug in but did so easily with the plug removed. maybe compression release? For anyone who who wonderer if I was still kicking , I am

After further review the gear was welded on a replacement axle. PO neglected to put in keyways. Brings up another question. What could the PO possibly down to damage the original axle? Gotta remember this is just a 3.5 HP tractor that would have been have to be abused in a odd way to damage the original. After talking with Tom current plan, which may change, is to turn off the inside weld which wasn't much anyway and use machine bushings to space it from the inside of the casing. Last pic show where the weld & gear was mashing on the inside of the case. Maybe replace the axle bushings which are the same 1503 ones as on a three piece RJ/Burb tranny. Slap it back together and pin the right hub to the axle and let the left side free wheel. The way the PO did. Just not worth the time and effort to put back as orginal ... at this time anyway. This girl is just going to be a show piece and probably the only time driven is on and off the trailer.

To fix the oil drain pipes, I run a tap in till it begins to cut new threads, then I use a new pipe nipple so the threads aren't worn. I use red threadlocker after cleaning the thread thoroughly.

Decks stay on the 160 and 875 all year long except for the Steam Pageant. Plow will come off of the 857 when yard clean up starts in April, and the plow on the 953 will come off in May

3'' to 6'' here tomorrow. Here we go again. The last 3'' we got I didn't even plow it. Got out the 5000 lb tractor and made consecutive passes until it was all packed down. The next day the sun took care of it.

VID_20260321_123045296~2.mp4 Probably 15-20 auctioneers selling everything. farm equipment, cars, trucks, furniture, produce, feed, flowers, crafts, guns, livestock, etc. This pony had a $1300 reserve and did not sell at $1100. We're planning on having the excavator back in the next few weeks. Several different projects. Some clearing of trees to the right of the house. Also more opening up the forest and felling some specific trees. A larger area beyond & behind the barn & shed. Fell several trees around the current frog pond. Recut the stream up and downstream from the pond. Flatten out a large area behind the barn.

When searching the manuals the file results will come up with the last modified at the top of the list which means nothing to anybody. It is just like the forums - last post is first. On the right side you will see a box "Sort by". Click on that and select "Title". Now the whole section will be in chronological order that makes sense.

Got heads off and decarboned heads and combustion chambers/pistons. I found it a lot easier to work on by removing 3 of the motor mount bolts and turning motor for access to rear cylinder. Good thing I did because oil drain pipe is loose and I’m going to have to take apart and seal/ tighten it up. Between oil drain and loose oil filter it was pretty oily down there. Top of engine was good and dry . The old valve cover gaskets were stuck pretty good to block. I did start to adjust valves but my feeler gauge was at home so had to quit for for the day. Haven’t even got started on carb and intake manifold but exhaust should be good for another 30yrs after good coat of paint. Quick question, do any of y’all use any kind of sealer on valve cover gasket’s.

Removed the snow blade and chains from my C141. Didn’t use it one time this winter. Installed the mower deck, then mulched some leaves that blew in over the winter.
