Hello, my Name is Dick and I recently scooped up a D160. I had actually been looking at 312-8s because they are gear drive but I recently purchased a large property with wooded land and suddenly I found my self needing a heavier machine. I camper across a D160 with the snowblower, plow, and deck. Rear 3 point hitch, running and working for $800. I had to send a kid to fetch it and when he returned I realized that I believed the deck is not the correct one and I’m in need of a mule drive. I’ve been creeping this site for a while and I figured how I need one of join.

The Sweepster C-48 broom really does an excellent job of getting the rocks out of the grass. I used to sweep them back into the road when it was dirt. Now it’s paved so and so is my driveway so I won’t be using it for that purpose anymore. I’ll still use it for light snow and if I ever get my rear in gear I’m going to add some casters to it so I can de-thatch my lawn. Or I’ll just use my EZ-Rake model 100, sorry if I got off topic. I noticed this morning walking to the mailbox that there was a lot of gravel in the yard by the road. We had a lot of small storms this winter and the Twp outdid itself with stone. Sweepster will be coming out early this year. My shoulder and rakes do not get along. Ed you need one and your cab would be a good thing. A face full of snow from the blower is one thing a face full of gravel when the wind picks up is another...Takes me multiple days waiting for the right wind conditions...

I followed the “Mayo clinic” diet many years ago, I lost 2 stones in 2-3weeks. Nothing for the first 2-3 days, then the pounds just fell off. Eggs and grapefruit for breakfast, steak twice a week roast chicken, lamb chops, fish, salads, as much fruit as I wanted. Yep ... Late 80's I'd walk into a dealer looking for parts for my old 1067 square hood and they had new shiney 3, 4, 500s sittin there. I'd check out the fancy lookin PTO hoops and go wow. Then I'd look at the price and my drool & dreams were gone...

Sometimes a little tension on the jack screw, then a bit of dead blow hammer relief will help shock the pulled part too. Get ‘er moving!

3.5 days in to low carb/ ketogenesis changeover. 8.5 lb down. Physical hunger is not bad at all. More of a mental game and severe willpower over bad habits at this point.

Kent-Moore made all the special tools for GM and AMC back in the day. I was working at a Chevy garage and they bought out the local AMC dealer. They had all of these tools as duplicates and decided to have a garage sale. I bought a large pile for pennies on the dollar and made quite a few specialty tools of my own out of them

Snap On, Williams, Armstrong all good quality.

Did just that on the flywheel popped right off when I hit it.

Seems to me I've read that an exhaust valve should be rotating. Intake is optional. Heat patterns perhaps?

My TWP does an amazing job plowing anti-skid, scrapping, and calcium for a property tax of $250 per year But soon have to put the anti skid back on the road...

Sometimes - - there are two short setscrews in each of the radial tapped retaining holes - remove them all & shoot your preferred brand of penetrating lubey-juice in them to free it up off the shaft...

Another update. Took her around the property after tightening the outside one more link. Much better! They stayed tight, though one of the latches popped loose. It seems like it's just the way that side's chain is oriented. I tucked it back best I could and double zip tied it to the chain link. I've got ever so slight movement of the rubber but that seems to just be due to the way the links line up on either side. Also, the rubber bars are pulled more to the outside than the inside of the rim. This seems due to the 3 links vs 2 links, so the chain is tighter on the outside and thus pulling more. I still have full coverage across the tread so I assume that's fine? I'll also add, I took the tractor to an absolute mud pit of the property I never go to unless the ground is baked by the summer heat. Slipped in it for maybe a second or two, and then the rubber chains pulled me right out! How awesome! Think I'm sold

The return trip to the hospital showed no bleeding without the Eliquis blood thinner, so I returned to the rehab center several days ago. I was being given iron pills that should have stimulated hemoglobin but the numbers went down rather than up. Every day they were in the 8 range which is rather low. Well I have learned another lesson along with the entire medical staff at the rehabilitation center. I requested the information sheets on the prescriptions I was taking; BINGO Two medications that were being administered at the same time as the iron were making it ineffective. The other two meds were moved to the evening rather than the morning and my hemoglobin went from 8.4 to 9.6 on the first day. 13 +/- is normal so I should be headed home by Friday. I know we all hate to read every word in the instructions but in this case it was well worth doing. Internet sites didn't reveal any negative interaction but reading the precautions and determining how the could impact others like the iron pill proved to be an eye opener.

Test the diodes with an ohm setting on the multi-meter as others suggested--often labeled with the Ω symbol. If the diode: 1. has the same reading in both directions (i.e. switching ends either the test prob), it has failed. 2. has no resistance in one direction and lots in the other, it is probably good. For a tested good diode, put the end which had the black (negative or common) test probe during the test having “no resistance” reading toward the battery

They do work good for that if you can get the height just right. Too low they'll rip the roots right out. In this sand anyway.

After l bent the balancer puller plate and destroyed the threads on a advance auto PT brand one. I returned that one for the warranty. And ordered a used snap-on from eBay for $30, 100% worth it. I was going between this snap-on, and a old Mac puller. Ended up going snap-on because of the applications I am using it for, the snap-on's design let's the plate sit a little closer, when pulling on shafts like this. I am not huge on tool truck name tool brands. I have many different brands in my toolbox, lot of old craftsman, crescent, masterforce (menards brand) are the main ones. But these pullers, are one tool I would definitely go name brand, or at least old on.

Smokem if ya got em ... Read trough them with a multi meter. Usually they go in only one way because of the notch. Notch end or cathode up feeding the fuse and the battery.

Remove the diodes, hook your battery up. Use a multi meter to determine which terminals are hot or which ones have continuity to the positive battery terminal. The stripe on the diode should be towards the positive terminal on the battery. This allows the positive AC wave go to the battery but prevents the negative AC wave from going to the battery. Simple rectifier. Changing AC voltage to DC voltage.

One year anniversary of hitting the gym every possible week day! I’m feeling great, and don’t see an end in sight. I still intermittent fast, and have seen videos like these popping up lately. Three square meals per day is generally in my mind a lie that big business placed into our minds as fact or a requirement.

I have dedicated wheel/tire/chain combos and just swap them out when not needed. I find it a lot easier to change wheels and tires than take chains on and off also saves wear and tear on stuff. I have swapped most of my mochines over to lug studs and that makes it a lot easier also.

That isn't a good thing but there is enough that it fires the plug at least a lot of the time ..I don't see directly why operating temp impacts the issue...and why choking it helps??? Spark check while it is acting up will be the ultimate test. By the way Breakerless are like a magneto system. The do not need a battery. Never ever put 12 volts to the coil as you might do while testing a Battery points system. it will fry the trigger.

No, never worked there but I did get to tour the plant. That was in the square hood era. Some years later, after they moved out, the plant was up for sale and the company I worked for was considering buying it. There was considerable evidence of potential ground contamination where the paint line exhaust was. It was disclosed and the new buyer had to assume clean up. We backed away.

When I was working on Harley's for a livin' Kent Moore ( Spent Moore ) was a good quality as well.

MTV was relatively new when I was in HS and I thought it was great to sit and watch or just have on in the background. We never had cable at home but I could hang out where it was. When I enlisted I fell off the grid for some years and when I resurfaced it seemed to have lost its way to more "reality" TV vs. music. I haven't looked back at it since.

I checked that when i first pulled the carb apart. I was able to push carb cleaner through all of the orifices. The engine is very responsive to the adjustments done to the carb. Thank you guys for all of your input. I really appreciate it

Raked the stones back to the hard road then used the dozer blade to push them to the stone road.

Worked on this Clinton for a bit for the RJ-35 cable steer. These are like Onans or techies or even Briggs ... easy to work on but just a bastage to find parts for.

Rescued an orphaned snowplow today, guy threw in a set of tire chains (white bucket) as well. Was his father’s before he passed, his mom sold the tractor years ago, believed to be a 312-8, and the plow just collected dust. Today was the first time I drove since January 19th, day of my rotator cuff surgery, felt good to be back in the saddle.

Great to finally have a day near 60 degrees. Had a few out for some fresh air. Cherry smoke smells great too. Smoked turkey sandwiches later.

Settled on a Gloss Smoke Gray for the lower/wider stripe. If you’re wondering how I came up with this color decision…well it was in stock in my paint cabinet! Looks very different depending on the lighting. Last picture is what I started with.
