8 pointsGot these chains wheels and tires in a trade the other day and thought I would make up a set of wheels/tires for snow. Used my cheapo fuel transfer pump, RV antifreeze and cheapo bleeder valve and it worked great. Pay no attention to the wet floor because that’s where I dropped and busted a gallon of antifreeze Wouldn’t have been much of a mess if I hadn’t done that. Wished I would have weighed them before adding antifreeze but will try and weight them before mounting to tractor. Got 6.5 gallon per tire and might have been able to get a little more but was one gallon short 😂 (23-9.50s).

6 pointsInitial carb settings are just that, initial to get it running. ALL engines should be adjusted (if adjustments are available to do so). Each engine has different hours, different wear, different compression etc etc etc. Adjustments to that particular engine's conditions should help It's also a good idea to clean out those little holes in the long high speed needle. Braided copper wire and untwist the braid to a single strand. then spray it out too.

6 pointsSince the 867 is done brought this one in. This is the mother of all originals. Only thing that wasn't was the cigar lighter & quickly replaced. Lift cable broke & fan screen gone that's it. Well la dee da. Needs a bath, a little degreaseing and the new to check list. Just can't believe how unmolested this thing is. Yes thats the orginal seat! The deck is super quiet so just clean that up & check over. I really lucked out on this one and you guys would rip yer shirts off i told ya what I paid. It may go in the living room when done I'll help her pack.

5 pointsA nice 867. Refreshed & re-ringed K181 service motor starts & runs perfect. Fresh transmission oil & magnetic drain plug. Headlight lens a perfect original. Cigar lighter does not work. All new fuel lines. Steering wheel bushed at the dash. Hitch pin removed, cleaned & zerk added. Entire tractor gone thru. Can deliver to the Big Show or have in southern mid Michigan in April.

5 pointsWe're expecting 7 ish inches of snow tonight and more Monday. The BBT has her Military Tribute Tractor "Millie" ready to go. I have The Ugly Bruce tractor being warmed on the engine. Both rigs have the batteries on trickle charge. The cars are all tucked away in the barn. Generator is full of non ethanol fuel. ⛽️ Propane for the stove is full. Both interior wood racks are full. Plenty of coffee and creamer. Bring it!!

5 pointsGot around to working on the building for the rail road layout. I haven't done much for the past weeks as life got busy. The rusty metal is aluminum foil creased to look like old corrugated metal. The shingles is blue board insulation ripped on band saw as thin as possible then painted using two colors of green, black and white then broken into individual shingles an glued on. I'm trying to represent green stained wood shingles. We used to stain wood shingles using linseed oil, green paint and thinner or something then spray the shingles.

4 pointsWhat model tractor is it. (122 ??) Load test the battery. Check all ground connections. Did the rewire use heavy enough cables for battery to switch (or Solenoid) and from there to the A terminal on the S/G (at least 6ga)

4 pointsI started putting some of the pick items away this week. Cleaning up the shop floor starts with declutterring. But there’s room on the ceiling The Red Suzuki nearly fell onto the Triumph. It was a bit daring of me to hold it with one hand to record with the other, but that’s my commitment to good entertainment

4 pointsThose tiny holes in the needle must be clean - the needle is hollow and is the air bleed for the mix. Don't overlook the hole near the bottom!

4 pointsMy old Magnum would do that until it warmed up. Speaking of which- let it run a few minutes and set the carb needle valves then. You'll likely see a big difference.

4 pointsWas supposed to take over mid mount grading duties from the 857 ... now not so sure. A tractor camp mower for sure. Deck seem to lift higher so easy to load without hanging up.

4 pointsSo back in early November a deer was kind enough to kill my beloved Escape, without having the decency to die itself, forcing me into using our Explorer, which was not bought to be a daily vehicle, as my daily driver. I sold what was left of the Escape for parts about a month ago, and then had to use the money as a slush fund for some other projects, which are now complete. But not being of a mind, or financial position, to lose another vehicle to something as dumb as a deer hit this year, and also still regularly needing to use the detour that had me over in deer country until September, I got on eBay.. It's actually pretty well built. Sticks out a little farther than I'd like for appearance reasons, but not farther than the mirrors. Would have been nice if it came with instructions though.

3 pointsFor the ones who do not know I have had this 1057 for almost three years. It is almost done. I have one leak where the fuel pump was. I ordered some plastic bushings for the hood. 3 pointsThe hand grips have deteriorated to mushy rubber, and the air filter did as well. Filter will arrive tomorrow, but it’s been so wet here I doubt any dust will affect the internals. The front caliper is hanging up a bit, so my first corner turned into a slide, plow, dump today. The tires are less than stellar, but I’ll find some decent ones somewhere. My old neighbor put some sweat equity in getting this running, an oil change, rec fuel and and a brand new battery, so I paid the $200 for HP Tuners credits to put a little custom tune in his 2008 Toyota Tacoma to eliminate some automatic de tuning it was doing to him. So, here’s my $212 ‘91 Honda XR250L putting along looking for sheds this morning. IMG_2082.mov

3 pointsBig Battery may not equal good battery. Poor mans load test...hook up multimeter to battery. Should read 12.6v.. Then try cranking her. If voltage drops to 9 or below weak battery

3 pointsOn every machine with the fuel tank under the seat, this makes a huge difference. Heck, I think it improves with high mount tanks under the steering wheel.

3 pointsLong fuel line is most likely the culprit IMO. If you consider an electronic fuel pump wired to the "I" tab on the ignition you will be able to fill the bowl on the carb before you crank it and will likely see a great improvement. A fuel bulb is a cheaper and easier solution.

2 pointsRunning 11psi at the moment but will adjust if need be. Must have been pretty full because it didn't take much air to get 11psi in them. No tubes in these didn't want to break um down just to install tubes . This is second set I've went tubeless with the rv antifreeze; I May regret it later on but haven't had any trouble with first set so far.. Now the ol calcium ballast is a different animal.

2 pointsIMHO… It looks too well made for homemade. But my guess is that it was a rear weight for an implement (non-Wheel Horse, hence the black paing) that would mount on the front of the tractor.

2 pointsYep. That's a Long Frame on a short tractor. It appears even longer because of the angle of the blade we use. It do. Yessir. I also haven't done a smooth paint job or any type of lube on the blade. We don't find it too important here because there's plenty of open space for extra pushage.

2 pointsCheck your points gap. If they are opening too far this means you timing is too far advanced and the plug if firing before the piston reaches TDC. Example: if they are set at .020 try setting them at .018. One other thing that may cause it to stop at compression stroke is the ACR not working. Depending on the spark plug location in the head, (some heads position the spark plug directly over the exhaust valve) you can watch the exhaust valve as you turn the engine over by hand. The exhaust valve should lift up slightly shortly before the piston reaches TDC.

2 pointsI don't think I'll be able to break that winch cable with the amount of force the tractor can exert on it, even shock loading it. More likely the tractor will break traction before the winch cable snaps. But I do need a safety blanket over it to absorb any shock if the cable comes loose etc. I have a wireless controller I'm going to hook up, so ideally I won't be in the line of fire but you know how that goes.

2 pointsIf you have an extra set of 4.80 x 4-8 tires and rims, take those originals off the tub cart. The cart rims are the same as an RJ front rims but weren't calcium filled to rot. The only "real" survivors for those original rims are from those older tub carts because all the others are rotted. And nobody really gives a crap about what wheels are on a cart but they sure do care about it on an RJ restore job.

2 pointsHere we are, again. I made another impulse purchase and I might have buyers remorse.... Upon unloading, I tried to start it, it yanked, but nothing. It has spark, but no fire. Also the recoil stopped contacting the flywheel. What's wrong? I feel like this is a good @Pullstart question. Also here are the attachments. What are they worth individualy?

2 pointsI would call it a neutral detent. Since it doesn't have a number in the IPL it might not have a part number. I'll take a look at carcasses see if I have one.

2 pointsThe only thing with Bolens is that they are shaft drive with lots of u-joints…. Compared to WH is belt drive. You can find the original # of the belt and the length…. You’ll have an have a new belt in an hour vs. a u-joint!

It's the Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway Museum. https://wwfry.org/ Back in the day, it went through the village I live in. Some of the buildings are still there.
