13 pointsHad to rearrange my garage area today. So much stuff in there that I couldn't work on anything. My daughter took the Ranger out for it's last ride until spring. Then I put it and the 867 in my storage building and tucked them in. Then I moved the 701 onto my lift so I can finish it up over the winter. My knees won't let me work on another one on the floor. The Bronco, 523-H, and V-14 moved back into the garage since they will still work through winter. Now at least I have room to tinker again. Time to make a new mess now I guess!

8 pointsNew Seat! This machine looks to have been left outside and neglected for more than a few years. I found what looked to be a good replacement highback seat from my local tractor supply, but I didn't like the way it fit. So.... Found a local upholsterer to recover the old seat. I like the fit and the color a lot better. 😁 Now just waiting on new belts so I can go play. 😁😁😁

7 pointsIt is amazing how fast the past 18 years have gone. Thank you all for your support and patience over the years. It has been quite the journey. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to you all.

6 pointsI acquired this machine as a complete non running tractor from a friend a couple years ago. Sat in the corner biding it's time to be the priority project. Finally pulled it out last month and started working on it. So... Charger on the battery and spun the engine. Sounded good. A little ether in the carb and it fired right up. Cleaned the carb, replaced the fuel line, checked the fuel pump, a little choke and part throttle, purrs like a cougar. 😁 The paint is/was oxidized a bit. Turtle wax rubbing compound brought shine back, but still has that patina that some people like. The seat was beyond repair, so separated from the pan and repainted it and had the foam recovered.. The transmission drive belt was good enough to test drive on, and I am happy to report the hydrostatic drive works like it should. 😁 Now just waiting new belts and test out the 42" rear discharge mower with mulcher . Question: The hourmeter shows 61.xx hours. I know this machine has sat in various garages for at least the last 5 or 6 years. Mechanically, I'm thinking it is right, but given the weathering from being outside, it seems low for a 35yo machine.

6 pointsSo while Trina was at our favorite small engine repair place yesterday to pick up the trimmer she spied this beauty.. 1954 Huot top. I'll let the pics tell the story. If anyone can identify the base cabinet I'd appreciate it. Replacement Craftsmen drawers on a (military green? ) base.

6 pointsThe National Dog Show Broadcast is held annually on the fourth Thursday in November, on Thanksgiving Day and takes place on November 27. More than 200 breeds of dogs compete in the show every year — just about half of the total breeds of dogs in the world. It is a packed two-hour show of the actual event, which is a benched show. This allows breeders and spectators to chat to the owners and see the dogs up close. The dogs are judged on how closely they meet the criteria for their breed — appearance, structure, movement, and temperament.

5 pointsA week or so ago I stopped in to my favorite small engine repair place for some reason. While there we were shooting the breeze about the rough terrain and tall grass and how to maintain that area. He recommended a heavier duty commercial type machine and said he had one.... not that it was for sale. He showed me this and explained why it was supposedly awesome-er. Then said he'd be selling it... sometime. How about now?? Well he had to do a tune up and replace the carb. Trina picked it up yesterday afternoon. Looking forward to giving it a proper workout.

5 pointsI'm sure there are a few baseball fans here. But maybe some of you may not know that at one time there were two baseball teams in St. Louis. The Cardinals of course, and then the St. Louis Browns, who would eventually move to Baltimore to become the Orioles and would also be mostly forgotten. The following video shares the Browns story.

5 pointsE-141 was a C series tractor with the electric motor... WH had a whole line of attachments. I had two, but only the mower deck on one and snow blade on the other. Snow blade was same as any C series. Mower deck had motors for each blade. I also have an A-60 as well. Great units.

4 pointsYou made me go look... and you are correct. I do not have to original adapter but rather a short nipple then 45 degree NPT elbow and a short pipe to clamp the muffler to. Also made an adapter to bolt the brace to. It's probably an inch or two too far out, but I wanted to make sure I didn't cook the decals.

4 pointsYes. Was. Currently newer 454 , .030 over and a truck cam. I am in the middle of going back to a well built 396@.030 over, 38cc pop-up pistons .545lift x 285 duration cam. Paid $25 for that car complete, not running, 35 years ago. 😁😁 Traded the original TH400 for TKO-600 5-speed and 3.73 gears. Way more fun to drive.

4 pointsIt's just off a 300 series. I took it from a 312-H if I remember correctly... Any 310/ 312/ 314 with a Magnum engine should be the same. Just be sure to get the elbow that goes with it.
-
4 pointsUpdate! I found a local shop and I provided a nice maroon, marine grade upholstery. I cleaned and painted the pan and I really like how it turned out. For $100. 😁😁

4 points@rmaynard A few days ago we discussed slides. Probably 10 years ago I was going through my dad’s slides and found this picture he took of the Esso gas station and general store across the road from our house. I’m not sure what year it was taken, but I know it was before I was born. I have the glass Esso plate out of one of those pumps. Someone gave it to me because they knew I would appreciate where it came from. As a kid I remember the pumps still in service but it wasn’t Esso anymore, at least I don’t think it was. After I had the slide printed into a picture I had an extra one made to hang in the store that is now a deli. I hung this picture in my garage and one day after it was already there for a few years I looked up at it and realized that I have the sign that is in the picture hung up almost right next to it! I circled it in red. This was my family’s business sign.

4 pointsWinter! New tensioner cog and drive shaft bearing on the blower. Waxed up the shoot and the blades. Decided to fill the rear tires with RV antifreeze and distilled water. 5:2 gallons respectively (7 gallons is capacity). Much easier than anticipated. Takes a bit of time to get it all in there but these wheels really bite now.

3 pointsMy son doesn’t come on here anymore, but here is a 704 that he has been making into a 4x4. complete scratch built axle, and a lot of lathe and milling…. I’ll try sort some build pics out!

3 pointsWhen I seen this video, I was intrigued by how many different models and the attachments that were available. Anyone know if WH offered the attachments? And which one was the E-141? The 15 or 20
-
3 pointsToday I had the C-141 out for a bit. the battery is still pretty strong but I’m going to keep an eye on that though.

3 pointsI'd go along with that. These canister mufflers tied to a Kohler get mighty warm. Reminds me that one needs a guard...
-
3 pointsIMHO you're better off being there than 1/32 too close. I remember blabbing with a people or two and deciding that the "safe" distance to a muffler from a properly running Kohler single cylinder was about an inch.

3 pointsAll: The C81 I purchased from @Sparky this summer had a rear that had walked inward and I could not get it loose with my puller; in fact I cracked the flange while attempting to do so. I planned on using my HFT Portable Bandsaw to cut the hub, but the flange diameter was greater than the saw's 5 inch throat opening. Snapped the broken flange piece with a large Crescent wrench, now the saw fits. Supported th hub with a jack to help keep it from rotating the axle and the plan was to cut thru the hub at the top of the keyway - and not touch the axle itself. A little more cleanup and the entire top of the keyway was exposed. Used my puller to remove it - got to love that "Snap" sound when it finally breaks free. Damaged the Woodruff Key in the process Used the Vise Grip / Slide Hammer to convince it to leave...

3 pointsSome times they don't come off in one piece. This one wasn't broken but I broke two pullers and it never moved. Used a sawall on both sides and a chisel to finish braking it off.

3 pointsHappy Thanksgiving to one and all. Enjoy your family's while you can. Unfortunately we are alone on this holiday due to kids being too far away. We did see one set last weekend. We'll make the best of it.

3 pointsCould be anywhere in the starting circuit wiring. Ignition switch to PTO safety switch to pedal switch to solenoid. The wire between the PTO and pedal switches would be my guess. May be rubbing on the steering gear. Unplug each of these three wires and use your ohm meter to find the short to ground.

3 pointsI have seen some early Craftsman tool boxes that were a gray/brown cabinet with red drawers.

3 pointsThanks. I had another shop here in town quoted me that high too. But they were thinking all new foam. The owner of the shop that did this is an old (er) school biker, been doing it since Noah needed a seat. 😁 He peeled the old material off and saved the foam.

3 pointsWe didn't have a GE Elec trak but father did have the GE power tool he is holding in the picture and is on his work bench in several shots. As I recall we had the 1/4" drill attachment, sander and a saber saw attachment. There was something else but memory fails me. It was a clever idea.
