Well maybe not a new home ... but I could live there. A new man mall just opened very local that I have never heard of before and I consider myself a farm n barn store connoisseur. Very clean and very well stocked. Tractor parts, tools, hunting, fishing everything a guy needs. Very well priced too as it goes nowadays. https://www.theisens.com/ I doubt many here have ever heard of it either. Apparently it's a small chain based in Iowa. This is only their 3rd store in WI. I was impressed. A massive hardware aisle complete with Hillman style drawers that wouldn't quit. I thought it strange all their grade eights were bright blue anodized. The grade fives were a bright green. For easy id at the checkout I'm guessing. Best part like TSC and unlike Ace or other places sold by the pound. The 1045 may develop a blue glow...

The white domed building is the McKim Observatory built in 1884. It is owned and operated by DePauw University. https://www.depauw.edu/about/campus/mckim-observatory/ 140 years old and very well preserved. On the National Register of Historic Places and has the original early telescope. The last picture is of the time clock that keeps the telescope aligned with what you are viewing- again clock technology from 1880s! This telescope was the 30th major observation telescope built in the USA according to to DePauw University.

Careful what you wish for... I think of you poured concrete over a tractor, placed it in an air tight vault, and set it on the moon- you'd find a mouse nest in it come spring!

Sorry no mirror shot but this just came home with me. 314H and a 42" SD deck. Almost complete, just missing the carb so I can't start it yet. the air cleaner assembly did come with it. I had to go get it since it was close and it was priced at $250 CDN. Deck seems OK and all spindles and the idlers spin freely. Easiest way to move the 314.

You can get fuel strainer parts at Napa, Tractor Supply ,Rural King Ect. Those sediment bowls are a French word for " fuel leak"

We have three Rural Kings within 20 miles. North, West or South. All have been around for a few years. Pretty good on stock but the south and west bound ones are the better of the 3. If I get within a couple miles of one, I kind of get the shakes. My wife says taking her there is not exactly a date! They carry those same blue bolts and they work good. You can buff off the blue on a wire wheel and find a nice silverish coating underneath if your wanting it to show. I get their brand of diesel oil for the Kohler machines. It comes from supplier Warren Oil a major supplier. How can you beat it.....good hardware, oil, filters, parts, belts, guns, ammo, and carhartt's

I have developed a routine to be done with anything new coming into my shop. While it is still on the trailer I throw a tarp over it and set off a bug bomb to kill any critters so they don't take up residence in the shop.

Gymnastics are as old as ancient Greece where exercise helped men stay fit and battle ready. In modern times, National Gymnastics Day is held annually on the third Saturday of September. Mirroring ancient Greece, the first National Gymnastics Day was held in the late 1990s as a way of getting young people more involved in the importance of exercise. This year, on September 20, gyms will turn into beehives of activity with displays and exhibitions highlighting the benefits of a healthy body for kids and adults alike.

Plastic lined the 2 stage blower chute today. Still need to make new rubber paddles for the impeller. They're worn down pretty far but ran for a good 5-6 years or so. Can't remember exactly where I saw this plastic thing done but it might have been from a geasy Pete post. Thought I'd give it a try this year and we'll see how it performs and holds up

I just get her a bag of the "FREE" popcorn on the way in @ Rural King and I'm good for about an hour.

Yes that hex nut threads onto the crank to hold the flywheel plus part of the starter. You can remove it Yes you can probably weld the hex nut corners. The weld will be hardened too. Nothing to loose if it doesn't work @Lane Ranger has a thread about how he is going to make a few. Gaskets can be made and replace the little O rings on the valve too New sediment bowls can be purchased but they're about $30 now https://www.ebay.com/itm/167688007504?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338590836&toolid=10044&loc_physical_ms=51385&customid=d34fabe18c551376645fc32f727a3112&gclid=d34fabe18c551376645fc32f727a3112 Sediment bowl is also French for "separating water out" too. Yes they can be finickie with leaking after 50 years but changing the gasket and / or O rings solve that.

Of course, it isn't the cashier’s fault if that is management’s instruction. And they DO need your business. Getting customers to supply a phone number, join a loyalty scheme, or open an account is a survival tactic for many retail businesses. I don’t take offense, I simply answer “no thanks."

They just don't get it do they Joe?!?!? She says the smell of new tires makes her ill. Go wait in the truck I tell her it'll be a couple hours... I heard of Rural King but never been to one. The holy grail of man malls perhaps??? Enough to make Tim Taylor drool??? Sadly you might be right. I says to her look now while the shelfs are stocked. Prolly never see it again. At TSC the rack is empty it may not get filled for months. There was one in Portage called Stock & Field and was there when they first opened and they didn't have much. Will get there I was told. Never did but then quickly folded go figure. Now it's a Runnings which is a bit better. Went there with @Achto once and he had to hold my hand to keep me out of the automotive section.

Jim: I like the boiled linseed oil too. I have used on two or three of my Wheel Horse tractors. I put on this latest RJ. D.J. Harrison says. GIBBS Oil also is a good coating to place on tractors to protect the metal and patina look.

Got bored and couldn't sleep, so I stickered some grip tape on the footrests. Hopefully It'll hold up.

We like any fabrication project! Take care to keep the "pull point" just below the rear axle. This will help keep the front wheels on the ground under load. There is a reason the hitch pin is so low on the transmission. Any higher would make the front jump anytime you pull more static load than the weight of the tractor.

So I'm thinking... I want to add or have ability to add: Single bottom plow york rake back blade I'm looking at a sleeve hitch adapter for the 2" hitch that pivots, allowing adjustment up and down. Would utilize the winch mounted above to move implement up/down. Thoughts?

Best to add a solenoid to take the heavy current out of the switch......

I kinda liked the sediment bowl, even though I dropped and had to replace the glass bowl. I made a new gasket out of rubberized cork gasket (i.e. fuel proof) mat from the jungle site and it’s working fine. Also, be very cautious about teflon tape and fuel systems--generally I avoid it if at all possible. Where unavoidable, I am stingy and make very sure it is only on “captive” threads and not extending out into the fuel stream. Tiny bits of teflon are unwelcome in the downstream components.

To START an engine you're looking at close to 80 amps to get things rollin and about 50 amps to keep it crankin. I tested an 8 HP on my engine stand with a clamp on ammeter. Charging amps are much less. Stock HD switch without using a solenoid https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product/4988-7263-starter-generator-key-switch/

If you are going to run direct battery to switch to S/G you want at least 50 amp switch...

I found the post FORMARIZ shared of his 653, His looks much like the components that I have with mine. It is all rusty but complete. I have access to a sand blast cabinet, and will be cleaning and painting for the next several months, and then assembling.

The 1963 model 653 used the H60-75009 and the 27278 tractor serial number fits in with others recorded. The only other tractor to use the H60-75009 was the 1963 model 33E Lawn Ranger.

As long as the paint was well cured, that’ll hold on nicely.

That was me and it was for the partially eroded threaded exhaust on a Kohler 181. Regular JB softened too much. The ceramic stuff is holding after 3 years. As for the Onan’s, I’d be very leery of thread locking into the aluminum block. I like @lynnmor’s “longer bolt” suggestion.

My spouse thought the squirrels were quaint until one chewed through into the screen porch and ran amok. Population reduced by ten and none coming near the house now. Chipmunks will be next, I suspect.

That is very close to what he was saying. The sentiment was more along the lines of people are more likely to be polite if they think there is a chance they will be shot for being rude. There is too:

The "Fuse Box" is really a set of diodes and a fuse that are the battery charging system. It does not affect the ignition (spark) You can download the service manual for the engine here click on picture

If I walk by the fence, my neighbor's cows will move away. If I'm on the 520H, they will stay and look in amazement. I believe the low rumble of the Onan soothes them.

Torque spec. - tighten until the bolt breaks or the threads strip, then back off 3/8 of a turn.

Since galvanic corrosion is a problem when using steel bolts with aluminum I would suggest using a good marine grade corrosion inhibitor as a thread lubricant.
