9 pointsI've posted a few pics of Trina's latest woodstove restoration project. This'n is a Timberline. It's now located in the new basement apartment for her momma. Here's a before during and after pic set.

7 pointsNow don't go giving Kevin any ideas..... In a case like the modified mower, stupid usually fixes itself.

7 pointsTeddy Bear Day is celebrated on September 9 annually, a day set aside for everyone to bring out all their teddy bears to thank them for their companionship, the wonderful moments we’ve had with them, and all the days and nights they’ve comforted us. The teddy bear is one of the most popular toys for children, and it occupies a particular place in the hearts of many adults as well. Teddy Bear Day is a holiday dedicated to this adorable teddy animal. It allows people to take Teddy out of the closet and make them the focus of attention.

6 pointsLucky guy. If he hadn't hit the tank, just a matter of time till he amputated some body parts.
-
6 pointsStorage container finally got delivered. I also found a metal cabinet for my drill press to set on.
-
6 pointsJoe Papke, the Schnacke Guru says I will need to harden these hex nuts so that will also be done on this project. I know the right blacksmiths with the right furnaces!
-
5 pointsSince I retired, I started organizing hardware myself. The gray drawers are standard nuts and bolts. The tan drawers are all metric nuts and bolts with standard machine screws and nuts on the bottom. All are organized by diameter and thread pitch. I actually started organizing a few years before retiring but reorganized a little better afterwards.

5 pointsGood Ole Rusty’s repower is 90% complete. Today we put the muffler on and welded it. And was able to drive it around for the first time in 4 years. Tommorow going to put the original saw tooth tires on it. And sometime soon hook the charging system back up, and make a 2” receiver hitch for it. We still don’t know how much horse power this engine is since there’s no tag or stamp on the block. Is there anyway else to tell? IMG_2027.mov

5 pointsEd happy for you. We made it to 65. then she went to heaven. Love of my life. I still feel married. Marv

4 pointsOwner of the local mower shop dropped off a Brinly box blade for me to redo. He didn’t have time to mess with it. He got it for nothing during a pickup/delivery. The P.O. had left it sitting out on its back. The blade was corroded and the pivot pin was froze up. A lot of liquid wrench and a BFH finally disassembled everything.Got it cleaned and repainted . This going to his 14 year old son to use so I wouldn’t charge him anything. He gives me a break at his shop so it’s payback.

4 pointsFirst time in a month that I mowed the whole lawn. Been spot mowing every now and then. We haven't had much rain this summer and now the weather has cooled, we are getting some.

3 pointsi did the same thing today! I had one already painted and measured it to fit and got it all ready to install snd it didn't fit! It was probably a C model hood and i had a B.80. So I ended up painting the B-80.

3 pointsI'm 25 yrs into my current one (Betsy, the love of my life) after losing #1 after 18 yrs. to Mr. and Mrs. K.

3 pointsIt’s been in the low 40’s at night, but no frost yet. #notready #letsgoshootsomedeer
-
3 pointsthank you! I think we're about the same height. the distance between the ground level and the mowing deck is now 4cm (1.5''). would that be okay?
-
3 pointsMany have a casting just over the PTO shaft, but many 10 and 12hp have "K301" because both used the same casting. Not sure if K321 have anything that absolutely identifies them or not- other than the previously mentioned "Kxxx" casting. 16hp engines have an extra head bolt. Otherwise, you have to remove the head to verify.

3 pointsI did change the fluid, it has such a horrendous leak that it had next to no fluid in it. Anyway ya look at it, I gotta take it apart.

3 pointsDo consider adding two Heim Ends on the angling rod. Gives smooth action with no play. A bonus if you seperate the frame from the moldboard for storage as I do... Leave the rod end bolted to the quadrant & unscrew the rod. No more fishing the washers & cotter pin.
-
3 pointsWhile I had this blade here I made templates to replicate it using two 42” Craftsman snow blades. The snow blades were cut to height and welded together with both backing plates. Everything else was made with heavier material. When finished it was put on the back of my 1277.

2 pointsI am going to have some new Schnacke Nuts made for Kohler K 90 and 91 motors! I acquired a Schnacke with my latest RJ purchase and the 1 1/2 inch HEX Nut was already rounded which explained why the Schnacke was off the motor and the rope pull was being used! McMaster Carr sells 7/8 HEX rod in different lengths. I bought 12 inches which should make 7 good ones 1 1/2 long. I am also going to have the 7/16 x 20 threads placed on each end so the Kohler HEX Nut can be reversed and used on the other end after wear

2 pointsThank you! Great food for thought and brainstorming where the gauges will live.

2 pointsFresh concrete and NO damaged appendages--right? Be safe, it's a dangerous life when the wife isn't there to monitor.

2 pointsYeah that! And the thought of he ain't done yet. I figure we will read about him again.

2 pointsMy hand held is about 15' long and fairly flexible for a 6" hose. Even so, it can be cumbersome. I often lay it on the ground and use my blower to push leaves out of hedges, corners, and fence lines - to the open end laying on the ground and watch it suck them up. But if I had it to do over, I probably wouldn't have purchased it. I've also used it (along with an "unloader" hose) to spray leaves from the collection bag into the garden for tilling. Worked better once I had a helper to aim the hose.

2 pointsIndian summer ... we'll have alot of summer yet the box elders, Asian beetles or stink bugs have yet to congregate on the south side of buildings.
-
2 pointsI want to keep the unit as close to factory configuration as possible, but having eyes on the hours, oil, and volts are pretty important for a daily driver in my opinion so I'm good with some slight mods there. The voltage regulator will be removed, as the CH13 has its own regulator mounted on the engine shroud. If i can get away without chopping into the dash tower sheet metal for gauges, that would be preferred.
-
2 pointsLooks great! I think I've decided to toss the plastic panel and work with the steel plate, modify it to fit a low oil pressure indicator for the CH13, and possibly make accommodations for an hour meter and voltmeter.
-
2 pointsAlso I would like to add I picked up band sander from Harbor freight. It’s about 1 inch wide with multiple grit bands. Like 120 grip up to 400 grit. I took a small piece of 2 x 4. Drilled a hole in the center and clamped it down on the table. The hole is just a little bit larger than the valve stem and I gently turn it while it’s making contact with the sandpaper comes out well just my .

2 pointsThat’s a bolt action exotic wood custom from one of my father inlaw’s coworkers.
-
2 pointsJust did the same thing myself. 1800lbs plus 8 old batteries. Sadly, only got $103 for it. 8 batteries alone would previously get 50-75 bucks... The days of $200-$300 for a trailer load are gone, but it beats paying someone to dump it.

2 pointsThis afternoon we moved Trina's latest stove restoration project from barn to basement apartment.

2 pointsWearing jeans and boots! You know they mean business, unlike the shorts with crocs wearers

2 pointsNeighborhood mowing entrepreneurs. They have a couple old riders to mow, push mower, & leaf blowers. They have about 20 accts in neighborhood. They stopped by to see if I could fix the trailer tire. Sometimes I fix their equipment for them. Glad to help them out. Besides the kids in neighborhood nicknamed me "tractor guy" Dont know how I got that name! Their trailer kinda raggedy. I had a trailer I only used 1x & didn't need so I gave it to them. They were so appreciative.

2 pointsStarted putting the tower together for the parts machine 512H. Really did not want to take it apart but it need rust removed and paint. Pro tip......leave all the bolts loose until all the pieces are in place then tighten.
