Needed a win after my tire issue and haven’t decided what I am doing yet so I shifted gears and assembled the grille shell. Looks pretty nice I think decal kit is on the way

I call this the rat 1056 because noting is standard on it.If had a part I made it work. I picked this engine up from Stevbo and I gotta say I’m very happy the way this turned out. I had my doubts in the beginning, but they seem to be gone now. After much tinkering, I finally got this engine to run pretty good as you can see by the video. Turning this into my snow plow tractor I’m thinking of taking it to Zagray in October. Hope you enjoy the video. IMG_0759.mov

Fabbed up a fan guard for my 875

Bring Your Manners to Work Day is celebrated on the first Friday in September. This year it will be celebrated on September 5. With nine to five routines, we probably spend more time with our work family than our real family. And much like at home, good manners need to be followed at the workplace. This includes not having messy workstations, conversing politely, and not using your cellphone when you’re in the company of others. They say good manners will open doors that the best education cannot. It is important to have healthy relationships with bosses, colleagues, and clients, to have a good work environment that won’t burn you out. In today’s modern times, manners are no longer limited to gestures like holding the door open for someone or making polite conversation. The way we present ourselves, using meeting hours for browsing on our phones, and many other things make up office etiquette.

Pretty interesting watching them string the wires. A helicopter would drop a guy off on the pole, dip down to the ground, pick up the wire on a pulley, bring it up to the guy on the pole who would attach it. Pick the guy up and move to the next pole. Bet he makes big bucks!

Thanks to @WHX?? I got a steering shaft that will work with just cutting 1/4" off and drilling a new hole. And the PTO bracket is so much better!!!

I live on a power line right of way. A couple years ago they put up some new steel poles. When that 36" drill hit bedrock, it shook my house!

Today was wash and touch up day for the M &G. All three tractor got a wash, Armor All and the 308 and 312 were touched up with touch up paint. I also sanded down the C-141 hood smoother as I was on the fence about doing it and wasn’t thrilled with how it turned out last time. I figured I’d try again.

Our cat rises early and goes right to the big glass slider doors every morning religiously to look for the sunrise, if it's there. Cloudy day or no visibility, he doesn't stay there very long and then goes about his daily cat life day. We easily noticed how he will stay there and watch so MUCH longer on the beautiful sunrise days. He loves a beautiful sunrise but could give 2 cat craps about any sunsets.

I made one from some scrap. I also added a 2" receiver. Probably should have extended out a few more inches for clearance, but it works great.

My neighbor has a 60" Cub Cadet zero turn mower. Quite a fast machine. I was helping him mow a mutual neighbor's yard with Morgan, the 14-8 a while back. After a couple of loops around the yard, I gave up and started working on another, smaller section of yard with trees - I was just in his way in the large open yard. A couple years ago, the neighbors was looking for a vacuum system for his zero turn. He contacted Cyclone several times for information on a vac unit. Never did receive a reply. He ended up getting a used MTD unit. It kept clogging the hose. He gave up on that after 2 seasons. Would have been ahead to keep pursuing a Cyclone product. In preparation for this year's onslaught of leaves from our 45 or so oak trees, I treated myself to a new 52" Agra Fab tow behind sweeper.

Very similar to Haban ! Not sure who supplied Gilson or Simplicity but the tube frame to front was used by multiple Haban sickle mowers. I really enjoy having the wildlife, rabbit, fox, skunk, raccoon, deer, eagles, heron, coyote, bear and songbirds, so close to the house. But after a strong thunderstorm this afternoon, I made my rounds checking for damage and when I leaned over the wood stove to check for water around the flue pipe I just felt I was being watched. I looked down and saw this guy about a foot from my leg. An Eastern rat (black) snake. He was around 4' long. You can see the bulk of his body across the back of the stove and a good foot was down the back side. Not sure why he moved in as the field mice don't come in till October. Well I like mouse eaters, but I knew he needed to be relocated before Mrs. K saw him. I'm not ready to move to the city. I snatched him behind the head and he coiled up around my arm and held on for the trip to the barn where there are some chipmunks to feast on.

Likely you could leave it alone. Just have the steering wheel 1/4" higher.

I have well over 24 cubic feet of drawers neatly organized and packed solid with that sort of stuff and still can't stay away from hardware stores.

I started sorting and reorganizing shelves, drawers and bins. I also had 3 11 x 14 x 2 pans full of hardware, parts, nuts, bolts, and washers. Now I need to sort by sizes and put in hardware drawers.Then put away or discard the oddball stuff in the large pan.

I am looking for one good used Goodyear tire like the one in photos. I would like to save this one but it has a lot of cracks after 67 years of use! First pick is of the one i saved from ghe pair! Miller tire paint can only do so much with an old tire! Let me know if you have one to sell with or wothout wheel! !

GIL is likely Gilson. I have a tiller made by them for the first model Simplicity offered for their two wheel tractors in 1954. Gilson, Simplicity and AC had a relationship.

Reminds me a bit of the 1056 I had, that had the early S/G engine and a 300 series muffler. It was a good worker!

I have tool boxes, drawer cabinets, wall cabinets, shelves and pegboard for storing tools. I started with a tool box and an assortment of wooden cabinets. Over the years I have slowly replaced all the wooden cabinets with metal storage except one. I'm still looking for that replacement. I am in the process of reorganizing and found a hole shooter, hole hog, and a jigsaw I thought I had given to my son. (when I can't find something I think I gave it to James). My drawers are not as organized as some of yours.

Haban made a variety of sickle bar mowers for garden tractors. Looks like that would have been used on one with the crankshaft running front to rear like a IHCC.

Good morning red square I just scored an older commercial cyclone vac for free in real good shape. barely used tecumseh 6 started right up. I was wondering if there was something avaiable to connect the dual point hitch thats on the vac to my 414, or do i have to make something to connect to the transmisson brackets? any advice, thoughts or ideas appreciated. If this is posted in the wrong section i apologize.

There’s nothing wrong with peg boards. At least you can see what you’re looking for. I on the other hand have pictures postcards, and lots of memories on the walls of the garage so pegboards won’t work. Enjoy your day, bud.

They used to be a vendor on Ebay selling new reproduction WWII Jeep cable, but members have reported the cable locking knobs he now has are junk. We covered up the trailer full o' tractors so they'll be happy and dry. Patiently waiting for @JCM and @Raven 's Meet n Greet in N Berwick next weekend. Other fun was drag push pulling shoving the non running 520H from beside the workshop to the interior of it. First we removed the mowing deck. Looks solid. Once in the shop I popped the rear wheel weights off. These were originally marketed by JD and were painted their yellow 🟡 over the original white ⚪️ base color. They're around 50 lbs each and stackable! I have two sets thanks to @Stepney so mebbe I'll do just that.....

I have things somewhat organized

Part of a restoration or a customization or a modification just might include tires right? One of our members @sjoemie himself suggested we set up a dedicated area for tire info similar to the one we have dedicated for paint info. Not trying to start a huge tire discussion but a place to go and read real specs on a particular tire. Example post would be: a/ You post a tire you purchased. b/ You post up its actual size after being mounted and what size wheel it’s on. c/ How many plies? Does it ride soft/hard? d/ Obviously we want a picture or three . e/ If bought new share where bought and about what they cost. f/ Give us your honest opinion. Like em ?Hate em ? Indifferent ? g/ If you went with a different size than stock was there any clearance issues? Manufacturers info is great but it can be misleading and sometimes not factual. Face it, they just want to sell tires and will say whatever they must to promote their product. This will provide a place to get real world info on tires from our forum members to help you make a decision before you buy. I’m going to pin this so it isn’t lost as I don’t expect it to be posted to daily.

In the last few weeks we keep having what looks like different flocks of Turkeys grazing through the yard. Group sizes 7 to 20. We've been enjoying all the wildlife at our new home in Maine. We've had deer, Bald and Golden Eagles, Herons, and even what looked like an Egret.

Will a mid-mount grader blade work to tear up weeds and restore gravel on a gravel parking lot? The area is getting some grass on it.

Yeah i can't seem to find the replacement par Toro 78-6210 on-line .. i was just thinking about finding a similar spring at the hardware store.

I second these. We had a few next door to me growing up that I had the chance to operate, they were around 23-26hp and both hydro and gear models. Both great machines!

Got some sandable primer on the hood. After I get it sanded down and a coat of regular primer it will get painted to cure for a while so it will be ready for decals when I get to that point.

Here's mine.

Not fond of the low position of the original wheel or the deep dish look plus the two spokes make it prone to cracking. I replaced mine with a standard 3 spoke and lengthened the steering shaft by a couple of inches. Much more comfortable and, IMHO, looks better.
