8 pointsLaid down some stripes with the 315-8. For the first time ever it started hard and ran rough, might have to yank the carb off it and go through it. It eventually straightened out, but after sitting for a bit I went to put it away and again it was running lousy. This is also my only rig with a drink holder, what a nice feature

7 pointsI wasn't gonna post this because my little flux wire welder (combined with my lack of skill) made for some UGLY welding, but then I decided f**k it! Here's a quick detach receiver I dreamed up. Fortunately, it works amazingly well moving my rock trailer and my buddy's bass boat with no issues! Here's how it looked in my mind!

6 pointsPullstart Stables YouTube Channel is 8 years old today! Thanks to those who tune in to see my shenanigans!
-
6 pointsThe customer wanted me to cut these latches and make something manual. Meh. They just needed a tune up!

5 pointsCongrats on the anniversary Hopefully you'll have many more, if you stay alive

5 pointsNational Tooth Fairy Day on August 22 celebrates the excitement and wonder of kids losing their teeth! National Tooth Fairy Day is a reminder for kids, young and old, to relive the fun of visits from the Tooth Fairy when a newly lost tooth was exchanged for a fun surprise as they looked under their pillow in the morning!

5 pointsI just bought this and will be making a bolt on one out of a front hitch o matic...
-
4 pointsI pointed my magic wand at it and used the enflamr spell. Actually, drilled a 1" (25mm) hole into one end about 12" (30cm) deep and another hole radially in from the side intersecting the axial hole at the bottom. Dimensions are not that critical. Basically, that makes the log into a rocket stove. To light it, put a lit piece of kindling into the radial hole, with the lit end under the axial hole, which acts as a chimney. The whole log will eventually be consumed.

4 pointsI got board this evening, so i took a piece of unslitable pine log and made a candle:

3 pointsGreetings all. Last month i acquired a older TORO Wheel Horse 210-5 It's probably as basic as one can get. but it runs and cuts. I've been wrenching and greasing on it and still have a couple areas that need improvement .. but ill ask these in another section of the forum.
-
3 pointsHere's what some call a Swedish fire log. It's about 10 inches in diameter. I take a chainsaw and cut with the grain about 3/4's of the way through. Heading to the campground in the near future. I'm taking a log that's like the one this topic is about with drilled holes. Hope it works, It's easier than using the chain saw.

3 pointsKevin, might I suggest a rope tied to the 2 X 4 to safely pull it out from under the tail gate. Never mind, I forgot who I was suggesting safety to.
-
3 pointsYes I'm aware of the spindle situation and the interference with the 37" mower, But I'll only be using the the larger wheels for plowing in the winter. Thanks
-
3 pointsNot sure whether those rims will work or not, but when switching from 6” to 8” you will need to get new axle spindles, as the 6” spindles are longer (unless you want the raked look) For 6 bucks though, certainly worth a shot.

3 pointsTractor is slowly losing parts. Some parts degreased and washed. Some parts awaiting cleanup.
-
3 pointsI just looked at that picture and realized that I have more WH’s than are in the picture 😳 I think I might have an addiction issue with these things? 🤔 And why am I still looking in the classifieds and peoples garages and backyards?
-
2 pointsI have done the switch on 2 310-8’s. I don’t know where the spindles were from on the first one, on the second, I was fortunate enough to get the HD Spindles and HD wheels. Neither one required a tie rod change or adjustment.
-
2 pointsI did very little to the WHs today. The new fuel pump diaphragms from @buckrancherarrived in the mail today. Bruce (my son) rebuilt the fuel pump. I supervised the rebuild and the reassembly of the engine. Then we filled the fuel and waited to see if any ran out of the oil drain, we had nothing after a little while, so we filled it up and fired it. After running for a minute the idle settled and it ran better than it has since I owned it.
-
2 pointsAlso, place a wanted ad in the wanted classified section for the parts you are looking for.

2 pointsI thought for sure there was going to be head banging at the 5 minute mark...! Stop for manual lever - Pinch Point....
-
2 pointsI think its worth preserving at least. Be surprised like already suggested by painting wheels & cleaning up how good it will look. Maybe consider a full restoration in the future if you desire? As far as the engine goes if it will run with little effort then just keep it as is. Im sure you already noticed there's some Tecumseh haters here. Lol! Had a 604 w/Tecumseh. I installed a cheapo Chinese carb & guy I sold it to young grandson uses it daily on his farm. My 654 also Tecumseh powered. Did same carb on it. Its my go to mower & snow plow machine. Doesnt sound like you are going to really be using it much so I think the Tecumseh might just be ok for your intended purposes?? Based on my experiences I can't be a Tecumseh hater just yet....... Good luck with the Lawn Ranger, looking forward to assisting & seeing your progress

2 pointsQuitters are for Quitters... These machines never let us quit !!! once you are bitten, as I was in 1974.......... I never looked back....

2 points@kthomas62 also like a 6 point socket , for solid , movement / hook up , pete
-
2 points@953 nut your reference to the idler pulley is vital ! regularly refer to MOVEMENT EASE , yet regularly see that ! , that COLLECTIVE ROTATIONAL DRAG , is what eats bearings and related movement areas . belt bounce is telling you of INCREMENTAL BEARING HANG UP / USUALLY LUBRICATION FAILURE . when a deck is correct , it spins up easily , smoothly , the spindle , idler pulley , is showing you how things are moving , if its a violent / buzzing set up , its time to verify whats going on , those idler pulleys also have a pathetic small bearing , with unknown lubricant . been years now , but added an idler to the long unsupported back side of the , spindle belt . very easy to add , also a telling point is initial , pto lever engagement . never slam it on , it spins up very easily , so thats how I engage it . pete

2 pointsUp here there's no concerns of aggressive bears. The black bears 🐻 we have are still extremely docile herbivores for the most part. When they see or sense a human they run away. We've encountered several. Momma with cubs now... that's different. Same for a moose momma. 🫎 The real concerns here are bull moose 🫎 in the rut and humans. That said, We're cautious and aware of our surroundings and This is always on hand.
-
2 pointsYeah, that's usually my signal to head back to the truck. Had a big black bear follow me for more than a half mile one night. I tell myself he was just curious. Myself calls BS on that sentiment... Otherwise fantastic pictures! Minus the scat of course! I used to love to go camping. Still do, but never again without a large caliber repeating camp untensil and plenty of high capacity beans to feed it. In all seriousness- Looks like it was a great time!

2 pointsAgreed, if those nuts are tight then the slide tensioner can’t do its job. But now that I think about it I think there’s a spacer in there to prevent tightening against the slide? Either way I’ve never loosened those nuts to change the belt.

2 pointsThis is the deck sold in 1970 for the GT-14. Click on the fuzzy picture. If you changed to the front idler assembly a newer more common deck could be used. Gt-14 decks 1969 - 5-1482 1970 - 5-0481 1971 - 5-1200 1972 - 5-1201 1973 - 5-1202 In 1971 a listed alternative 15-48SC03 (1990-1992) up to deck model 78361 (1998-2016) could be used with the 8-5551 front hitch. If you change to a front idler I think any 48" deck that fits the 300, 400 and 500 series will fit and if you go that far make sure spindles use a mower blade with a 3/4" round center hole. Far easier to get replacement blades.
-
2 pointsToday I put the C-141 back together. It still needs some tweaking but it’s almost done.
-
2 pointsExactly. Fluid filled tires (with tubes), additional weight in / on the wheels, proper tires and chains are needed for winter use when plowing, in order to provide proper traction... Additional rear weight hung off the tractor helps, but the additional weight in / on the tires is my preference, so as not to overload the axle bearings.

1 pointThat GT 14 frame is wider than all the models that is the attach a matic. However you can take the mid mount attach a matic brackets and put them on the inside of the frame and they will work. There are some threads on here of how to mount the mule drive to make it work. Cut to fit, paint to match.

1 pointHydraulic supply line as found. Hydraulic valve and cylinder hoses as pulled. PTO lever and rod as pulled. Wire harness retaining clips as found.

1 pointThat's awesome, Eric! Camping and hiking is great. Hah - I saw a T-Shirt at a visitor center in KY when I was camping there that said "HIKE! Because people suck!" I don't think I posted anything about that trip, back in June. I'll have to post some pictures and info.

1 pointI am so sorry to hear of your health situation. Pray that your herd finds a new home and it isn't too taxing on your health.
-
1 pointSo sorry to hear of your health issues. I just spent the last 29 hours holding my wife’s grandmother’s hand in the ER. Failing health and questions needing answered, it’s hard to see loved ones slip away. ❤️
-
1 pointThere should be no need to loosen those two 9/16" nuts - that is an "active" slide under spring tension. Use a large pair of water pump pliers to move the slide, then remove the belt from the far outside spindle. IF the slide does NOT move, it is bound up & requires a good cleaning to free it up. That was why the belt was slipping!!

1 pointI see @Pullstart has the vultures circling lol Like @WHX?? said that's a good looking machine. Maybe just get it running, clean it up and leave it as is. They do look nice painted up, but I'm biased as i have one myself! Mine has an 8hp kohler engine swap though and has been claimed by my niece
-
1 pointWelcome! IMHO, any "Round Hood" Wheel Horse is worth either saving or kept for parts to save another.
-
1 pointWe been camping for 3 nights in that red circle. Now home 🏡 for 2 nights. Then headed back to a different place camping 🏕 for 3 more nights!!

1 pointToday was a SUCCESS !!! The initial coat of paint looks good. I swapped to a gravity feed gun and that was the solution. I’m going to put another coat of paint on after I do some touch up in spots. but it’s getting there. I sprayed another coat later after I posted. It’s looking good.
-
1 pointYeah but I don't think my father would go for one of those. It's kinda like drinking out of a straw, it's almost impossible to look cool doing it! I was trying to talk some of those CT guys into stuffing a 125cc motorcycle engine and trans into one of those they found at the show. Laying patches of rubber a 100ft long would be cool. LOL
-
1 pointOr also run the risk of kicking the shifter. Bad news if the tractor is running. My father was having a hard time getting on and off his tractors at the big show this year. He can much more easily walk on to a little RJ or Suburban but then we have the issue of being able to pull start it. I might try and rig up a starter generator to a K91 and locate the battery in front of the hood for some counterweight. Maybe smaller tires and round hood fenders installed on a mid 60's tractor. I've also been toying with the idea of removing the tunnel section of a mid 60s tractor and redoing the shifter with linkage or a cable. Route the belt lower too. That way he could just step through it. Possibly another 2 seater style custom but I don't think he would like that as much as having a regular looking tractor. IDK
