6 pointsI have recently extended my little pole barn (well away from any electricity) to provide firewood storage. A couple of weeks ago scored a nice 12v crane which I've used to lift firewood bags to a mezzanine store level. I used an old but good pickup battery & thought to press into service a couple of old car driving lamps to provide some winter lights. How to keep battery charged is an obvious problem. I have a little Yanmar as well as a Wheelhorse C121 plus 48"deck & a Wheelhorse A800 that I usea as a tug & general runabout. This has a Honda clone 11hp electric start engine that replaced the old 8hp Kohler with pull start (sacrilege, but Im well into my 70's & pull starts have lost their attraction!) None of these have much onboard generation capacity to charge an external largeish battery. So - a PTO driven car alternator seemed to be a plan. I had a Delco 10Si lying about & a 55Amp alternator from an old Lada Niva, both bench tested OK & the Niva seemed to be the better choice (mounting was easier & more robust). I used some 20mm bar with a couple of stop washers welded to fit the mid Attacha-matic of the Wheelhorse A800. Couple of bits of flat bar to suit the alternator mount welded outboard & the adjustment post replaced the floor footguard mounting bolt of the W/H. Fitted a small panel from sheet steel to hold the excitation switch & panel light, plus an Andersen connector to plug the slave battery into & job was done. Of course none of the several thousand vee belts I seem to have fitted so I am awaiting some suitable candidates to arrive, but in the mean time I cut a few elastic bands from old inner tubes to try it out - worked fine down in the garage on a virtually fully charged battery, but as soon as i tried it on a slightly lower one , the "belt" snapped with the meter showing 13.5v, so it looks like I need a proper belt to test in earnest. Quite an easy job to do really & instanly removeable via the Attacha-Matic & PTO yoke to remove belt.

It’s a frozen confection that is shaped like a rocket and is tri-colored. Each color has a different flavor, with the original flavors being cherry, lime, and blue raspberry. Since the frozen treat is itself reminiscent of star-shaped fireworks, the name ‘Bomb Pop’ isn’t really a point to ponder. Because of the color theme, this frozen treat is now a popular favorite on Fourth of July celebrations, too, so why not kick-start the party by stocking up at your nearest convenience store? Or better yet, take the nostalgic route by chasing down an ice-cream truck and getting your tri-colored treats from there.

5 pointsLol Oh Balls... actually the square hood round fenders 1045 look is a fav. Easy on easy off for yard work. Who doesn’t like the C series hoods. Do a b hood one for Sylvia... I saw some tool box & fenders & seat springs at the BS cheap shoulda grabbed them.

5 pointsThe toolbox is not asymmetrical, but I was able to pull it off! I also took no video of this one. I figured it would be fun to kick it old school, pre-YouTube. The foot rests are on and it feels quite nice at the helm of my 1445 Automatic!

4 pointsOutside of a different switch and a 12volt with key on to the coil wire the rest should be the same as you have. Or you can use the needed bits from this. Take out the clutch switch and ammeter

4 pointsAbout six years ago John “Brrly” Campbell told me he had a 603 he would sell me if I could drive up to Toledo, Ohio and get it. i knew John from the time I first met him at the old Mentone Swap Meets we had in early 2000’s . I drive up with my trailer and John took me to a fabulous place his friend had where the 603 was stored! II put a 6 HP Kohler recoil start on the 603. It was a motor I had sitting for about eight years that I bought at the Portland, Indiana swap meet from Marshall Fyffe (IndyWH). A local resident heard I had this 603 and had to have it as it was a model his grandfather had . He showed my a picture with him on it as a child with his grandfather. He offered me a very good amount and I accepted but have since regretted the sale. Again, we can’t keep them all but the memories of people associated with a tractor are significant! John’s friend and his father were Wheel Horse Collectors and had some nice ones and a pretty large RJ contingent! John Campbell was the first to show me a Tombstone weight and weight bracket. He later led the effort to reproduce Tombstone brackets for collectors. John was an iron worker from Iowa. But he was a Wheel Horse guy through and through !

4 pointsSince your GT-2500 was magneto ignition and the Magnum is also the majority of the wiring will be the same. Your starter wire from the B&S will be connected directly to the Kohler starter. Your ignition and safety switches can be used as is, no change needed. The diagram shows a black wire leaving the "Kill Relay" and a green wire going to the Magneto on your B&S, this wire will be connected to the white (or Pink) wire from the Magnum engine will connect to it. Depending on the charging system of the Kohler some slight changes will be made. Post a picture of the front of the Kohler's fan shroud and we can tell you what needs to be done.

3 pointsSolar would be ideal, but this shed is under trees (see below) & even the 10w solar charged LED I had on the side wouldn't keep charged in the autumn & winter (it's damp & grey here for lots of the year in Wales). I do have 4Kw of panels on a shed next to the house, but that has open skies.

3 pointsI used the KM 125 Uni Pro from “tractorseats.com”. Has the 7.5x8 bolt pattern needed. They also have the button switch available. Worked great on my 416H.

2 pointsMorgan, the 14-8 got a bit of exercise today moving the pontoon around. Had to get it close enough to a hose bib so I could get earmuffs on the engine for the 'first of the season make sure the engine runs BEFORE we put it in the water' check. Originally planed to use Clyde, the C-195 for this, but he wasn't ready to wake up from hibernation yet. Put a battery charger on him for a bit.

2 pointsPull the shroud and see if the 2 extra wires from the stator are there for the breakerless ign. That's the only way I know of to tell for sure, The points plunger hole would have had a plug you remove to convert to points

2 pointsYES, and it creates a higher COG that is also shifted to the rear right. I have a receiver hitch on the left side of the front frame where I need to add a weight box. This is the ideal location to help bring the COG back to center. But, with all that weight on the right side, I will always need to mow with the right side on the up side of the slope to prevent a tip over. Also need to learn not to mow under low hanging limbs that flip the catcher box up side down. And when dumping the box, remember to slow the Briggs blower before removing the top. And wear the ear muffs. Old Ed Dog is learning.

2 pointsI have used Facet Posi flow pumps for several years. made in USA. I use 4psi versions. I see no need for a light..you can here the pump clicking. Turn ignition switch to run When the sound changes the carb is full and you are ready to start. I use the I terminal on my K series that you do not have. You could use the Acc terminal. Would not pump while cranking but since the carb is full it will start ok.

2 pointsTuesday, we ran 2 miles. Wednesday, 1 mile. Today, 3. 6 miles total for the week, along with our regular rotation of deadlift, squat and bench press, and sides of free weights, cable workouts, planks, push-ups, sit-ups, etc. We’re working hard and feeling good! Yesterday’s mile, I even slowed down about 3/4 of the way through, and still bested last week’s new personal best of 6:16 by a second! My new mile beat is 6:15!

2 points"The Horn" was the highlight of every "little" that drove the E-141 that pulled the SL&WHN RR... they would keep that horn goin' and the neighbors loved it!!! Never a complaint... even the local would wave and light up their lights for the kids... That kid will be a next generation guy...

2 pointsI continually tell myself why I can’t get rid of some. Sentiment, a single need or use, what have you. However, I got along fine before without them too. I have a feeling in the next few months to a year, I may get rid of some that I wish I didn’t.

2 pointsPicked up another park bench at the auction. This is #3 and I need one more. I had to pay $7 for this one, but the slats are all good. Just needs sanded and paint. 95F, but I had to try the new Trac Vac from the Show. Worked great, but I have to remember to slow or stop the blower before taking the top off to dump the grass.

2 pointsI found a chunk of 1” thick aluminum, just right to bolt to the hydro. I need to trim an old too box to fit and it should fit ok. I have stirrups to remove the floor boards as well, and will trim the floorboard top mounting plate to hold the belt guard stable.

1 pointToday, I got back working on the C-141. I built the cantilever and rod to run and hook up the throttle. I also ran the choke and hooked that up too. I figured I’d also see if the electronics are good before I start the engine. Just have to charge the battery now to check that. That’s a job for tomorrow.

1 pointWe were just having a discussion on what horses had a factory Kohler 6 HP. @Achto thought it was just the 633 but Wild Bill said therr wss another one too and we thought it mighta been the 603.

1 pointThese are the numbers that have been mentioned on this site. I keep them on a list. I personally use a Facet and recommend it. Facet 60245 or 60304. Mr. Gasket 42s. Carter P4070.

1 pointI have to admit that such complexities didn't occur to me when I assembled my system and I haven't noticed a difference between turning left or right. It's possible I suppose that my valve auto compensates, but I don't recall it doing that from the datasheet. It could also be that I haven't noticed the difference and if that's the case then I would file the problem under 'don't worry about it'. Next time I get the machine out, I'll do some careful steering and see if I can spot a difference. I changed the original 5xi ram I used to smaller one I had in stock because the turns ratio was too great when I first built it so paid no attention to ram sizing for this issue. I have a full JCB 3CX backhoe and that uses a double ended steering ram. I imagine a similar set up would be do-able (preferable in some ways too) on a Wheelhorse as it would remove the need for a track control rod.

1 pointYou fill the tank with poison, the heat of the exhaust makes it into a toxic cloud and then you drive around sucking it in Dr. Kevorkian recommends therm.

1 pointYou want to try one thing at a time so you determine the cause of the problem. One more try is to add a shot of Marvel Mystery oil or 2-stroke oil to the fuel tank. That will lubricate the valve stems in case they are hanging up. Some engines love it because the valve springs are not that strong.
