Decided to make a thread for getting home safely. We are only a few hours away, but we're very fortunate to have a very boring ride home. Trailer is unhooked. But still need to unload. It was such a great year getting to see so many familiar faces and meeting new friends!

Almost ready to head West to my baby sisters 80th birthday party at noon. Listen for my horn when I pass the South Mountain Fairgrounds at 9AM. This was one of the most enjoyable shows ever for me. I want to thank all the "old" friends that stopped to chat and the couple new friends. After searching for Howard for two days, he found me yesterday afternoon. Keep smiling brothers. Rest easy Jay and Jimmy

Had a great time at the show today and walked away with some really nice goodies! Got a 48” blade with the extension brackets for the 520 a nice 44” two stage blower (didn’t really need but too good a deal to pass up lol) and a tub cart that the wife wanted to use for the garden. Definitely didn’t plan on buying much or I woulda brought my 8ft bed truck but it made the 3 hour ride home good despite the haphazard strap job.

I’m 31 miles from home and stopping to top off the petrol tanks. I even stopped in Sandusky, Ohio and picked up a pretty cool walk behind Jacobson sickle mower to deliver to Portage next month!

Hot, sore, sweaty and tired. Mostly unpacked. Took a quick 15 before unloading the trailer and washing the truck (my next task). Safe travels all!

Got ags on the Commando: Next up will be deck service and checking over the add-on lights. I think only one or two are working at the moment, but the OE headlights both work.

Today is the first day of the Wheel Horse Collector’s Club “BIG SHOW.” Just too much to take in but we will do our best. Tonight there is an ice-cream social followed by “Cursin’ to the Oldies.”

Made it home without an issue. Already unloaded. Another great time. Got truck washed & tomorrow I'll finish cleaning it in the comfort of the air conditioned garage. Supposed to start getting severe heat tomorrow. Got grass cut & all yardwork done too

Mowed today since it is only going to get hotter.

So I left this morning with one horse, and one wagon, and a shopping list of small parts. I went down to the show, brought the wife along to keep me from buying another tractor. Came home looking like @Pullstart packed me for an overnight trip or something: Found most of the parts I was after, I think the rest of what I tried to round up is not as needed as I originally thought. But I had been looking for a second unit that would work with the attachments I already have, and the wife wanted a bigger yard cart. I found the big one that standing on end in the trailer right behind where I parked my tractor to walk around, and got a smoking deal on it. Then the boy found a Commando 8, running, driving, mowing, with a deck, for a decent price and the wife, who was supposed to keep me from buying tractors, OK'd the purchase. I had a good time though. I got to see some nice tractors, talked to @Pullstart about farms, talked to @Ed Kennellabout dogs, talked to @76c12091520h Brian about houses, and talked to almost nobody about tractors.

I like it hot, but it's already getting nasty here. I'm at training the next two days, and we are running a modified shop schedule this week. Come in an hour early, leave an hour early.

So far my day has been spent, very unproductively, sitting on a boat.

Since you have a regulator and it is set real low, I would try a higher setting. It sounds like fuel starvation under load.

Bottom sanded, primed with rust converting primer, primed with regular primer, and painted. I will let this dry for a few days and let the heat wave and bad weather pass then flip deck over and paint the top side.

An event like this can't be restricted to one small rock. It's gotta go big.

What did I do with my Wheel Horse today? I poured 2 fingers of my Rye variety Wheel Horse over ice, added some lime juice, and poured in some Diet Coke. Picked it up and sipped a toast to those at the Big Show that they have a good time, make some good deals, and have safe travels. With any luck, one of these 'next years', I'll make it there myself.

Got home from the Big Show Friday night and reloaded to head West or my Sisters 80th buirthday party this morning. Four hours out, five at the party, and four hours return. A quality day with the family, but I'm pooped.

I'm partial to it. I also just generally prefer the performance of the ags on our ground. I figured since I already had a pair mounted up on the right size wheels I might as well get them on.

Success! The A-100 is good and tight now. It was super hot and I was thirsty while working on this… lol Installed a few NOS parts and used Lucas Grease. It’s tight and smooth now. Thank you everyone for all the help along the way. IMG_1439.mov

You clean out the carburetor to stop surging.

@Rubberman run in a number of used engine s , on a seperate gallon of heavily treated fresh gas , drop carb bowl , verify settings and all related linkage/ movement sweep , also like , sta bil fuel additive , have had zero rubber related hose break down , in filters or carb . probably a collective issue , not at one place , personally use , car bole low pressure fuel pumps , no issues , pete

Dump the fuel bowl. Marvel mystery oil is good stuff. It never hurts anything.
  42. 2 points
You want to try one thing at a time so you determine the cause of the problem. One more try is to add a shot of Marvel Mystery oil or 2-stroke oil to the fuel tank. That will lubricate the valve stems in case they are hanging up. Some engines love it because the valve springs are not that strong.

The electric fuel pump should be fine. Have you tried adjusting the carb a little leaner? See the carb adjusting procedure in the Kohler manual. Its available in the Manuals Section if you don't have one. How long has it been since the fuel system was gone through? All fuel hose replaces, tank pulled and cleaned, fuel shutoff with screen in the tank pulled and cleaned or replaced. Fuel filter after electric pump replaced I just did all that to my C160 after about 5 years and it needed it.
