14 pointsWe left this morning (Wednesday) at 3am and made a few stops along the way. Almost bought a new camper at Camping World in Hamburg but got out before I signed on the dotted line 😂 Then stopped at a really nice car and motorcycle cycle museum in Intercourse, called Barry’s Car Barn. Made it to our Air BNB around 6pm. We will be at the fairgrounds tomorrow morning at 8:45. Here’s my rig loaded up and ready to go!

6 pointsA little late posting cause we are already at our airbnb. My hillbilly rig setup. 🤣 Made it here safely so that's what matters. Ran into a bunch of rain on way. Tractors will need washed.

5 pointsI've had a home built wood splitter for the last 30+ years. It's on an 8" beam. 10 HP Techy, 16 GPM 2 stage pump, 5" piston (from a compactor) Short 20" stroke. It is a beast and has split 24" beach crowns easily. The tongue weight is a bazillion pounds and it's a pain to move around. BTW, this splitter is on it's 3rd motor, second pump and second valve and second tank. Moving on to now. I'm too old to mess with this, so I came across another home built for short $$ on CL. 8.5 HP $375! Very nicely done and well cared for. The only problems are the valve has a detent in both directions, which is very unsafe. Also, the pump is pretty slow, although has plenty of power. It has a nice 4" piston, 24" stroke. BTW, the guy just put new bearings and new wheels and tires on it too. So now, I've swapped my old valve over to the new machine and my next move is to swap the motor and pump. His valve was side mounted so you could only work from that side. I moved it to the top so you can work from either side. This is so well balanced, I can pick the tongue up with 2 fingers! More to come.

4 pointsIt didn't look good. Two weeks of stomach virus put me in the hospital for a few days. But I escaped and got home in time to mow the hay, load Dons C-101 and hook up the bucket trailer. It was still loaded from the Hershaul Park show. See Ya in the parking lot line up.

4 pointsSmall load for the trip down..hope to have more coming home . Just the 520-8 and a cart. My sons truck and my trailer this year.

3 pointsMrs 8n and I had skin cancer screenings with the dermatologist today. Both came out with a clean report. I'll repeat in about a year, Mrs 8n in 2 years. Remember, don't be shy. A bit of exhibitionism sure beats a fight with skin cancer.

3 pointsMy 9 year old miter saw has gotten nearly impossible to slide on the two rails to the point it was getting dangerous. I tried blowing air and lubricating the twin tubes with dry lube but with no success. I was almost to the point of buying a new one and trashing this one but decided "what the heck, if I try to repair and ruin it, it's headed for the dump anyway." I took it apart and after cleaning of what I call the bearings, it's once again sliding like new. I drove out the bearing unit with a wooden dowel Then I used a pick and tested each set of ball bearings. They were supposed to move freely some of the were frozen with small pieces of sawdust. Two or three of them took quite a bit of effort to move but slowly working back and forth with shots of air gun finally freed them. I then worked dry graphite into each roll of ball bearings. In fact, my air gun would make them rotate. I made this cover to hopefully help keep the two rail tubes protected from sawdust.

3 pointsPost up all your loaded up and ready to roll photos here! I will start off. I am hauling the new toy hauler and my son will be following with the open trailer. See you all at the show. Safe travels!
-
3 pointsI just read your reply - connecting that with the thread's subject matter didn't really match. A skin cancer scan at the Big Show??? Quite a visual! 2 beats later, i read the quote.

2 pointsAccording to Walmart policy you are not charged until it ships. Didnt use my debit card, it is a rewards type card, going to call the number on the card to see if it was charged. Been looking for good used ones on Marketplace, but no luck near me. The guy that sold me the Lawn Ranger gave me a good seat, I am going to make it work with an adapter.

2 pointsThose are recirculating ball bushings. Two things they do not like - ultrafine dry dust and frost on the rail. There are drop-in ceramic coated solid replacements available for most common sides that are unaffected by both. The IGUS IGLIDE is such a type. Note that the balls are meant to recirculate and need about 1.5 x their body length of motion to do so. That helps keep them cleaned out of debris.Worst usage is repeated very short oscillating motion where the balls just roll a tiny bit. That leads to fretting damage on the shafts......

2 pointsI'm all ready to go. Sorta. I've got the tractor all back in order, but since the garage is full of tents, and it's supposed to rain over night, I'm waiting until morning to load the trailer.

2 pointsI'm a Ford tech, I do weird things at unusual times, in unorthodox manners, and most of them are diagnostic.

2 pointsBe careful not to park close to the tree lined field area marked in blue .Its very wet and soft down there ,looks fine but trust me it’s not !! Some moron got stuck, not sure who but I’m out now
-
2 pointsDo you have @syslvt90 Do you have the mule drive that goes on the front of the tractor to route the belt to the deck? The older mule drive pulleys were cast and the newer ones are stamped, spot welded steel. There are 2 spaces between the pulleys, they are slightly different lengths. keep them in their respective spots to keep the belt lined up.

2 pointsI remove with doggy tick picks. Like a tiny crowbar. check under the microscope to make certain the mouth parts are not still in me. then map gas. Everything gets a fair shake. You attack me there are consequences
-
2 pointsWhile waiting for the frame to be welded. I worked on the throttle and choke slots the upper dash. Just primer, paint and fine tuning left. This is where I stopped on my last free day.
-
2 pointsAt this point I started fitting, and grinding the slots for the throttle and choke. The ends of the frame were prepared to be welded as they had cracked and broken off. Once the frame was welded it was assembly time.
-
2 pointsit was suggested to me that if I find a tick attached, to remove it and tape it to my calendar. That way if I develop an issue that may be tick related, I'll have the date and the tick.

2 pointsStarted loading the trailer at about 4pm yesterday. I got one 701 loaded and the heavens opened. This drainage swale in front of my house rarely has any water in it. It rained 2" overnight. The good news is, my grandson Mason will be here today to help finish loading. We'll be on the road at 6am tomorrow, eating breakfast at the Apple Bin at 7:00, and in line at the fairgrounds by 8:00. See you all Thursday. Edit: The lastest Big Show Forecast
