21 pointsFirst my apologies to have sort of disappeared and to those who contacted me some I think without a response. Life has thrown quite a few obstacles in front of us and we have been stumbling, tripping and trying to get up for some time now. It’s been event after event and time has just flown over our heads during all of it. Finally little by little we are achieving some sort of normality if one can call it that. As I learned at a young age from a great man, “ you don’t make plans for your life, life will make them for you. I miss not having being here, sometimes having attempted but all the preoccupations taking always over and preventing that and many other things which were part of my daily life. Hopefully now I can get some of it on track starting with attending our beloved show later this week. Looking forward to see everyone.

8 pointsI was just wondering how many other Work Horses will be coming to the show. I’m really hoping that we can make a good showing. Being the very proud original owner of my GT-1800 I am happy that the Work Horse has been chosen for this year. I think I heard something about the guy on the left being there as well 😂 I’m looking forward to seeing everyone!

5 pointsGood running C-160 Hydro for sale! AS PICTURED since the videos, this has been cleaned, seat swapped, and rear fender changed out as well. Brand new battery today, 42” SD deck cuts well, hydro lift and low back Wheel Horse branded seat. $650. I’ve got it on the trailer and I don’t plan to bring it home! I have a solid spare brake pedal zip ties to this as well. I just ran out of time to swap it. IMG_1377.mov IMG_1378.mov IMG_1371.mov

5 pointsWheel Horse seat for Megan’s 310. I ordered the Vevor seat and when it comes in will swap it out along with a 400 series adjuster.

5 pointsThat is why I use Sta-Bil Storage additive in every drop of non-ethanol gas I buy for the Wheel Horses and always maintain a full fuel tank. After I had my stroke everything sat unused for a year or more and ran like it never happened.

5 pointsI don't think it will ever stop raining. My yard looks like an uncut interstate highway median... I am not complaining about the rain. Maybe just the intensity, duration, and number of times it's come in the past 10 days... Oh well, it gave me time to paint my wheels. I stole @Sparky Mike's wheel paint color and I like it! None of my wheel weights will fit the fronts, so I ran the valve stems on the outside. And for any who are curious, Rustoleum crystal clear works fine over Krylon. Sprayed it on immediately just as you would over Rustoleum.

4 pointsWith the BIG SHOW coming up and family coming into town Sunday for my wife's birthday I took a swing at the "Honey-do-list." The list was too long to accomplish in a couple of days so I asked my wife to prioritize the tasks she hoped to have done. I managed to complete tasks 1, 3, 5, and 7 today. She asked why I hadn't done jobs 2, 4, and 6 I told her I only do ODD JOBS! Looking forward to seeing everybody at the show.

4 pointsGlad to hear you're making your way back into the fold. You've been missed and when one of us is missing we are concerned for you. Will be looking forward to talking with you.

4 pointsAll these wheel horse tractors all shined up. I wish I could go this year but most likely it will be next year for me. Maybe I’ll have mine shined up by then. New tread and painted wheels go on this weekend. Getting front tires mounted tonight and then I will finish painting them. steve

4 pointsFresh Veggies Day on June 16 is celebrated to commemorate the nutritional value of fresh vegetables and their importance to human health. Fresh vegetables are the best sources of micronutrients that are vital for metabolism, growth, development, and disease prevention. The natural fiber content in vegetables helps prevent constipation, hemorrhoids, and colon cancer. According to “Food & Wine” magazine, there is no such thing as a bad vegetable. Some may need extra work to remove an outer shell or be peeled, and some fare better when cooked. However, there is no reason not to eat fresh vegetables every day.

4 pointsWE ARE SO CLOSE!! Today got ALOT done. Ran the wires for the front and rear lights and mounted and wired in the rear lights. Re hooked up the battery. Mounted the fenders. Painted the final heat shields and mounted those. Also tidied up around the tractor and flipped the tractor around and swept the floor underneath it s8hce there was a lot of junk and leaves. FINAL 4 things to do 1. Paint the red in the hood 2. Put the decals on the tractor 3. Put on the grippy stuff for the floor boards 4. Put the seat on. And that is it! The finish line is in sight!!

3 pointsHere is the new to me 1975 Simplicity 7016 I did some trading with my neighbor. It was his Dad's who passed away last year who was our neighbor as well, that we were pretty close to for the amount of time we lived here. So it has some sentimental value as well. Especially for his son who lives there now, knowing it's being taken care and close by. It has the tiller, a front blade, and a deck which probably to far gone to save. Also some wheel weights I did wash it before the photos. The sticker is not right I did check the model number on the tractor and it is a 7016. I did check the bevel gearbox and it doesn't have to much slop it's still within acceptable range. After checking this tractor out I can really appreciate the simplicity of the Wheelhorse tractors (pun not intended haha) That said I do love the look of the tractor with this particular hood and the light pods on the side.

3 pointsYou can probably give some interesting information about dealings with Toro and Wheel Horses. We love pictures, got some of the dealership you could share?

3 points551 Suburban, as seen in the pictures! Hub caps, original front tires, cast foot rests and all. Older repaint, runs and drives well. $750 SOLD! I’ll be hauling this to the show regardless.
-
3 pointsSame here. When I fill up my cans the first couple of gallons go in the car. This flushes any ethanol out of the pipes.

3 pointsI got the first 4 sections of dock into the lake yesterday. These weren't too bad, as they connect end to end. Got the last three in today. Not quite so easy, though. These 8 foot sections connect side to side - a bit more work to fit together. Working in deeper water, too. Good workout, though. Wading in waist deep water and lifting and manuvering the dock sections into place. At one point I pulled my 3/4" combo wrench out of my pocket and heard a splash behind me. The 9/16" wrench also in in that pocket came out as well. Nope, I didn't find it. Have to find a 'fishing' magnet now. Probably a 'lake tool' I'd ought to have anyhow. Scooped some leaves out of the lake at the shoreline, leaving some cart work for Morgan, the 14-8 tomorrow.

3 pointsBefore going to that extent I have an alternate suggestion, not that rebuilding the carb isn't a good idea. But a short term fix may be to simply drop the carb sediment bowl and clean it out. Also the long fuel line from the fuel tank may need replacing. Of course you'll know when you do as @Ed Kennell suggested. Those strainers in the bottom of the tank are known to rust completely shut. But anyways, my old Magnum engine powered 310-8 was notorious for getting accumulated condensation in the sediment bowl (or sucked up from the tank on the first start) after a winter nap. It's a southern thing I guess with the crazy humid climate.
-
3 pointsI used the 316-8 and home made equipment to remove the grass, This is what it looks like now. Didn't get any befor pictures, but it was getting bad along the edges, and starting to take over the center. Used this ripper along the edges and down the center and the prlveriser over the rest of it.

2 pointsI think @Handy Don has the only one that I’ve seen in person. His hydraulic setup to raise it is rather impressive.
-
2 pointsI'm glad you're OK and we were kind of worried about you. So glad you're gonna be going to the show and looking forward to seeing you again as always

2 pointsCas, there is no need to apologize for anything, we are just very happy to know that your life is headed in the right direction. Many of us have been holding you and your wife in our prayers.

2 pointsPull behind tiller $250 engine turns over but I have not tried to start it. Everything is there and it should function.
-
2 pointsThat was the one I was thinking of. And I agree, driving over the deck is a bad idea. Tried it once, took a couple hours to get it straightened up because the hitch came down in a bad place and jammed all up.

2 pointsBut with fur to clog cooling fins and the perfect size for becoming a projectile. Dunno who coined "sweet" into the name. Plenty of other words that better describe it like evil, or at least annoying gum trees... But they do burn very well if your splitter has the guts to bust them up!

2 pointsI’m the guy with the 416-H with the 60” deck and 6” front wheels. Once I got lazy and set up some blocks then drove over the deck to put it on. I will never do that again, for various reasons. If you were able to get it under your Work Horse you definitely would not be able to steer very much, and it would be a lot of work just to move the deck. I see you have a back rack, but that will be a lot of weight cantilevered off the back of the tractor. Steering may become a problem with that as well. A little pull behind cart may be your best option, or a small front end loader to carry it.

2 pointsThere are a few serious chipper shredders around. I’ve used an 8hp MacKissic and own a 6.5hp Tomahawk. My neighbor has a tow-behind 8hp Garden Way. All do a good job. If you have the place to store it and it’ll get used a few times a year, a chipper shredder is a great tool to have.

2 pointsThis is the first thing that popped into my head. The lyrics of this song have a reference to eating your pecans and hushing your mouth. The irony of the sayings we all grew up hearing! Ain't old enough to buy your own cold beer Y'all ain't the ones who make the rules 'round here Eat your peas and say your prayers Hush your mouth and brush your hair [Chorus] Who do you think you are, kid? Bare feet on the tar kid Crashin' daddy's car kid Grow up fast like your mama did Teenage baby had a baby All them dreams turn into maybe Maybe's now a healthy never Forever young ain’t young forever Ain’t that the truth about the truth Will put a world of hurt on you A broomstick poke in the bike spokes The joke's on you Who are you tryin’ to kid?

2 pointsThere is no reason you couldn't run an external resistor like the ones used on Chrysler products if that is what you want to do.

2 pointsQuite a busy weekend. Saturday we hiked Green Mountain for a calorie burning and to see how my fitness is going. Considering I haven't done any hiking of moderate size I did well. That's very encouraging. This is the fire tower at the top. This junco was at the base of the tower collecting grass for a nest. Zoom in and you'll find it looks like it has a mustache. Sunday I spent most of the day in the workshop. Our electrician friend is scheduled to be here the 21st. I knew we had some wire to be fastened up. Trina knew we had to make a list of needed parts. Both done. Trina was of course outside doing everything she could to stay out from under a roof as usual. They moved the remaining loam and cow manure from up by the barn to beside the garden. That was probably 10 trips. Covered the crap pile for next year's use. While she and the Momma were out playing in the 🐄 🐮 💩 I hung this heater so it can be hard wired. I also swapped the type of door lock/latch we use on the new workshop space. We were using a standard hasp. That obviously wasn't able to be opened from the inside when locked. We both found that unacceptable for convenience and safety. I changed to a Yardlock Shed Lock. Basically a screen door handle inside with a wire that feeds through the door to the exterior lock. If you're outside, it opens with a combination and stays unlocked but latchable. If you're inside just push the tab like any door latch and the door opens whether it's locked or not. Seems to be quite a good design.

2 pointsVery nice work! Does anyone know why Kohler didn't use these pumps on all their engines? Is this style pump not capable of supplying enough fuel for a 16 HP engine? I've got modern pulse pumps on 16 and 17 HP twins. Just curious.

2 pointsGot help beefing up the hinges that join the forward and rearward decks on my son’s folding utility trailer. Friend used his lathe to take material off the bold head, shorten the nut, and prep the ends of the DOM tubing I used to make the pivot bushing.
