Well if you’re like me, I’m a bit sloppy and I sometimes get drips on my t shirts when I’m eating. As long as its not oil or fat, I usually can remove it by rubbing an icecube from my drink on it. But if it is oil or fat, ice cube won’t work. I’ve tried using the tide stain stick, but they usually don’t work. So i I started wearing it to work in. One day I was using brake parts cleaner to clean some parts and I got the bright idea to spray some on the stain. So i took off the shirt and sprayed it down. When it dried, the stain was gone but it left a bigger mark around the edges of the area I sprayed. I thought oh well I tried and it’s still a work shirt. So I put it in the wash and after it came out of the dryer, no stain at all. The shirt looked like new. I was also worried that the spray would remove some of the dye in the shirt, but so far that hasn’t happened yet.

Doing a Full Service after Mowing today. beginning with an Oilchange, after that i cleaned the Carb and Air filter, followed by removing the Deck, cleanout the Deck from last few weeks gunk. at Least sharpened the Blades and give her a complete Regreasing. To stressless remove the Deck i use an Hoist i have mounted in 4 meters height at my Shed. @Ed Kennell did you Spot your Sign?? With that Hoist i can lift the Deck in a comfortable height to work on it. The Rubberband on the left prevents the deck from swinging away while working. Cleaning is done and there is still red paint visible under the gunk. Ok this 2 10 liter Buckets of grass gunk told me - maybe next time earlier doing a Cleanup. Yap i see it too, it needs a new belt because of several cracks. Belt order is placed. i also need 2 of the Deckbelts but i somewhere noticed what Size they must have... - my Problem is now : .... i forgot where i put the note😎 dang ready for the next Task !

After work today, I mowed with the 312 before the rain we are supposed to get tomorrow and it looked a bit long. I think the deck needs bearings or a once over because it drowns out the engine. I've got time off coming up so maybe I'll tackle it then.

Something my Mom taught me as I was heading off to college: if you’re trying to remove a stain in the wash, air dry the article and check it since dryer heat can set a stain. Yes, I learned kinda late, but I vowed never to bring dirty laundry home from college for my Mom to wash and I never did. We taught our children how to do laundry (and cook, and clean) while they were in grade school.

The grandparents have been keeping me quite busy lately. Mrs. P was out of town for work M-W this week and I was supposed to be doing a last shop push to get Big Show ready. One grandpa had open heart surgery this week, and I visited in the hospital a bit with him. He likes tractors and hot rods. We had lots to talk about. Another grandpa had a RR wheel bearing and axle seal go bad on his truck. That became a fiasco, when we found the tone ring for the ABS to be torn up inside the axle tube as well. The third grandpa, had the latch on his trailer break. Before I could get there to inspect, he had removed the latch assembly with the hot wrench. I cleaned up some of the tongue, and got to work with the ole’ buzz box and some 6011 rod. It’s been 20 years or so since I stick welded. It was a chore, but became more fun as I went. I returned home with a full belly and some big C-clamps!

Due to supply issues, the only hats I have been able to get is the Camo non-USA made hats. Because many of you requested interest in the hats for the Big Show, I have made arrangements with Mike @Sparky to deliver your paid hat to the show. Here’s how it will work. You must purchase the hat in the RedSquare Store by Wednesday 5:00pm eastern. I will gather all the paid hats and meet Mike on his way to the show. When you run into Mike, he can hand you your hat. Note: There will not be any EXTRA hats, only those sold in the RedSquare store will be available, no additional hats will be sold at the show. I am limiting the quantity to a total of 10 so if you would like your hat, order early while supplies last

Got the gears today from Jake. Now need to find someone to weld them on.

These work great on stains if you hit it early. Also Dawn Powerwash right on the stain as it goes into the wash. This stuff is also great for an engine degreaser.

Well, here's the progress I made: I managed to find seals at several locations but could only find used shifting forks. Then I thought about what 8ntruck said about Toro dealers may having something laying around. It reminded me of another vintage project I did where a dealership had a part I needed stashed in the warehouse so I called a local deal and he gave me a list of dealers around the country that may have a fork somewhere. The first one was only an hour to the south. I called and low and behold, he had one. So I shot down there today and picked it up. He also had the axle seals, brake shaft seal, input shaft seal and case gasket. So it was a productive day and I spent under a hundred bucks for everything. Thanks for the quick response, everyone. I think I'm going to get some other projects out of the way before I attack the beast. Between the Kohler rebuild and the research on the tranny, I've eaten up a bit of time. Thanks, stevasaurus, for the information. You have helped many Horse owners. I have studied your tranny rebuild videos several times already just to see if I wanted to tackle the job. IThey are in my email files so I can get to them easily. Being quite mechanically apt I think I can get the job done. I study those "who have gone before me" to avoid pitfalls that can be avoided. Thank you all. Since I know everyone likes pics, I'll try and document the job!

Fuel bowl retaining nut gasket. I have worked on stuff like this for over 50 years. The new gaskets today just don't seem to seal like the old ones. Nut too loose and it leaks for sure. Too tight distorts the bowl. I've even tried a new bowl and nut. I reuse the old gasket if I can now and coat the sealing surface on the bowl where the nut gasket seals with Permatex Aviation sealant.

It’s time for International Ax-Throwing Day, which is celebrated yearly on June 13. It encourages ax throwers, both professional and amateur, from all around the world to gather to celebrate and promote the urban sport. The day aims to inspire sporty people to participate in a unique and enjoyable pastime, reduce tension, and simply have a good time with their friends and family members. Ax-throwing clubs all across the world will be opening their doors to anyone interested in trying out the sport for free.

I would watch the garage sales and what not for the old style cans but never had any luck. Over the years I've tried about every 'new' can on the market and never found one. Even a 'racing fuel only' can I found. Then I found a new jerry style can with the metal flex spout I wanted. I put the flip vents in all my cans and did so on the jerry. I tried it out and proceeded to cover my shoe with gas. I hadn't noticed the air vent in the spout. I probably made it worse because with the vent I added air was no longer being sucked into the factory vent and it was allowed to pour gas out. Some JB weld and a piece of sheetmetal entered the picture and this is now my go to can. Zero leaks and a spout I can bend to fit the needs. My other cans are now for transport home from the booze free station a couple times a year.

My last grandparent passed in 2004. I was married in ‘07 and gained three sets (steps included) I enjoy the time I spend with them, learning and swapping stories. The one in the hospital told me that he front engine rear wheel drive 327 swapped a VW Bug one time! He pulled into a service station for fuel and parked with the rear near the pump. The gas attendant asked him to back up, the nozzle wouldn’t reach the front boot

Several weeks ago I picked up this park bench project for $5 at the auction. My SIL saw it and said " I wish I had one". Well, last week I got another one for $5. I had to make all new slats and got it finished today. I'll deliver it Saturday for her 50th anniversary.

You pic doesn't show the part of the head under the gasket. While you have the head removed, it may be a good time to resurface the head to make sure it's flat. Even if that isn't the issue it's one thing you can rule out. @ebinmaine has put up a few posts about gently sanding the head flat on a panel of glass.

The '76 C120, a rescue and in the shed for years, is finally getting to work again. Went through the engine and trans long ago. The 42RD is clean and on new bearings. It does look its age and has had a hard life. Label says it was purchased in Joplin MO. Handed down a generation - the boys fully expect it to never give up and the meadow can use a mow. Don't blame the bros for not mowing. It was like this when they closed.

My mother taught me, one cup sugar, one cup peanut butter, one egg. Jada has taken that job over, and Rylee makes the no bake cookies. I got it made!

Haha, only when I put them in there. That is actually the passage to the block that the push rods go through. When the head gasket goes bad, that is where is sucks oil into the cylinder and super pressurizes the crankcase.

For moisture and draining purposes, I’d suggest a pocket, and a drain hole in the center.

My neighbor asked for help, he said the engine on his craftsman was blown and needed a tractor. I was able to get a nice Workhorse Automatic off of a member here and helped haul it from Mass. to NY for my him. Anyway, the “blown” engine was a Briggs Intek OHV which was burning a LOT of oil. Told my neighbor I would take the craftsman for him, here’s what I found, from what I hear, it’s pretty common: Got everything all cleaned up, new gasket and runs great now!
