11 pointsNew to me, 417-8 w/ rototiller and 42” RD deck. Oooh, and WH tractor cover! (I have never seen one!). The implements are in amazing shape! The tractor has got 974 hours on it. The tractor has no lift cable for the rototiller. The points are toast, i have ordered new points. It has electric lift, I’m not familiar with it… is it good for lifting up heavy items? Like a 2 stage snowblower or rototiller? Here’s a picture. I will get more when the tractor. Im going to get it tomorrow!

10 pointsYesterday I helped George sleezer put together his 656 show tractor for the emporia ks wheel horse meet and great.

9 pointsHere’s some more pictures. Man, i just can’t believe it, on the mower deck; there’s grease on the pulleys and on the wheels! The Wheelhorse cover, un ripped! Someone took care of this! Ive got some white spots in the hood, i think that buff out… there’s the 71 Chevy 250/3 ott. Saying “what about me?!?!”

7 pointsWell I thought I would share some before and after pics. It's not done, still have to do the front wheels. Originally they came in Orange. Someone at some point gave it a paint job of red and silver. It was bad. I usually don't paint but it was in such bad shape that I thought I'd quickly blend it all in red. Regal Red of course. Looks better then it did. I didn't take anything apart. Painted it all right on the tractor.

6 pointsHostess CupCake Day is celebrated annually on May 11 to commemorate the day the first Hostess CupCake was sold in 1919. Produced by the Taggart Baking Company, Hostess CupCakes were originally known as Chocolate Cup Cakes. Hostess CupCakes became so popular that in 1988 alone, 400 million of these cupcakes were sold. The number skyrocketed to 600 million in 2011. After several mergers and acquisitions, Hostess Cupcakes are now produced by Hostess Brands and are still a fan favorite in the cupcake world. Hostess CupCakes were sold for the first time on May 10, 1919. The first commercially-produced cupcake, Hostess CupCakes were produced by the Taggart Baking Company. They were originally called Chocolate Cup Cake. At the onset, two Hostess CupCakes were priced at five cents. The cupcakes had a variety of toppings, including malted milk or vanilla icing. During the 1940s, an orange-flavored cupcake was added to the mix. However, it was during the 1950s that Hostess CupCakes took on the distinct identity that it still has today.

6 pointsI’ve said it here before, I believe the 417-8 and 418-8 would make the best rototilling tractor. The 8-Speed and electric lift is a great combination for this application. Although the electric lift is noticeably slower than hydraulic lift it’s a heck of a lot easier than manual lift. Keep us updated with pics!

5 pointsTrina and her mom put up an awning over the back door so the Momma can enjoy the deck more often. They did the full assembly of the unit in the ground. I helped with the hanging on the house part. Even the dog helped ... with box inspection.

5 pointsDon't "knock yourself out " to be there at 9. There will be a line anyway so unless you're there by 7:30 you won't be in the front. We got there at around 9:30 last and pretty much drove in. Being your first time you will most likely be going from place to place there so won't be much need to set up a "home base" anyway. Takes a couple of hours for most guys to get set up and the big parts vendors are usually still unpacking 5 hours later. There's always plenty of room under the canopies for kabitzing along the way. I should make a sign for my tent and the picnic table at the Motel. "Waldo's Memorial Hospitality & Kabitzing Station"

4 pointsMy brother and I took my mom out for a bike ride for Mother's Day. She loved it! We did over 12 miles. I kept asking if she wanted to turn back, she said no till we hit the 6.25 mile mark, then pedaled the whole way back without issue Moms 81 years old.

4 pointsYou have a picture or two to share? I have a 315-8, run a 42” deck it and it’s been a good machine for the 4 years or so that I’ve owned it. Has half the hours than the one your looking at. I don’t think 1145 hours is “low hours”, some folks will disagree. How it was maintained helps determine its value.

4 pointsFinished up phase one of a little landscaping project creating a decorative curvy brick edge between the grass and the “flower bed” if one could call it that. Placed mulch. Much improved. Got under the kitchen sink to replace the broken faucet set. Getting out the old stuff (which was crappy when I installed it) is half the fun while contorted on one’s back in a confined space. And then I remembered I had a Sawzall and things went much better after putting that to good use. Ah, tools! I like tools. They’re great!

4 pointsWANT TO BUY or TRADE 4 1-looking for wide rear rims like the wide ones that came on the 520's wheel horse preferred. 2-wheel weights 8' front and 12' rear wheel horse preferred 3-really like to find side mounted sickle mower for c series or short frame tractor. FOR SALE or TRADE maybe???? Have 69 GT14 I can bring if someone is interested. Runs good and seems to have stout hydro.
-
4 points@c-series don thank you so much! Count me in! So, it will only be me again this year. My daughter and her family from VA Beach will be making a Northeast Tour starting in Connecticut, then PA and then finishing up at Long Beach Island in NJ. They'll arrive in PA hopefully on Father's Day, head to the Jersey shore the next Saturday. I told my wife, and daughter would make my world if they would show up at the show on Friday with my granddaughter, so I can give her a ride in "her" 4-wheeled wagon. We could put both of our granddaughters in it together! Thanks brother!
-
4 pointsThis explains so much. Today is my daughter's birthday and when we serve dinner she always asks if it is healthy, but when allowed to pick her own food she always goes straight for the junk food.
-
4 pointsCuriosity mostly. But also.... why not? A little extra free torque for turning a chipper or pulling heavy loads. Need??? No.... Just seems interesting to try it.

4 pointsThe seams be ok for my opinion. they must not be extreme pretty, on the Truck they Should last. here we call them „Working Seams“ you can grab a grinder and grind the seam smooth, but who cares? But please allow me one comment: If you fix a Frame i would suggesting drill the Edges from the Patch your going to replace before you cut them out with the Grinder. The reason for that is while a frame is in permanent structural movement. the rounded edges prevents that a rip in the frame can enlarge further because on structural movements.. whenever you see a rip in any flat surface drill the edges of the rip first to prevent the rip continoues. Here a 5-6mm drill would be the choice - imho

4 pointsMarch test came back negative. I had a CT scan a couple weeks ago that showed damage to tissue from the radiation. The lump above the ileostomy site never went down. I went to a digestive Dr yesterday and got a referral to a surgeon for Tuesday to verify what type hernia I have and if it can be fixed.

3 pointsWe drove from our Mo. location to our MI. location last Friday. One thing I noted along the way was the lack of shipping container loads on semis. One of the items we brought back was Aunt Helen's rose bush. She always had a rose blossom floating in a small vase when we visited her in the summer back when I was in grade school back in the 60's. We later ended up buying that house and lived in there for a number of years. One of her rose bushes still survived. We moved that bush to Ky when we moved there, then again when we moved to Mo. Now it is back in MI. Got it replanted yesterday. So far, it looks like it will survive the move. Time will tell. Took the dog for a walk in the nearby state game area yesterday and today (on a 6' lead). He seemed to be following a scent and was headed in the general direction I wanted to go. Then I realized that we were following game trails. Made walking slightly easier. A couple years ago, the DNR did some forest management in this area. They contracted a logging company to cut selected trees. Their intent is to encourage aspen tree growth. Claims that this will better support the deer and small game population. The clear cut areas sure give the land a different appearance than the semi mature hardwood forest that I grew up with. I'm having to relearn how to navigate the area again. The clear cut areas now have a good crop of raspberries and aspen saplings that are 4 to 6 feet tall. Think I'll pick a spot and take yearly pictures to document the growth.

3 pointsThursday is the "Best Day " for catching up and shooting the breeze. Sometimes you can strike a deal helping to "unload" something off of a trailer.

3 pointsHappy Birthday, boss! Thanks for keeping the hub set screws tight and the greasy parts greased around here!

3 pointsThat is a question only you can answer. Removing the engine block from the oil pan is a rather straight forward operation, unhook a few belts, wires and cables and remove four bolts, BINGO, its out of there. That is the easy part, deciding if any of those little plastic gremlins have gotten into places the will eventually cause a catastrophic failure is the hard question that only you can answer. The fact that they have migrated into the valve gallery leads me to think they are everywhere including the piston rings and the crankshaft journal. If it were my engine I would completely disassemble the engine, clean and inspect each part, have the cylinder bore measured and buy the appropriate rebuild kit.

3 points@AHS lots of opportunities there ! highly recommend in that electric cable lift , and all related movement areas , make that cable flex like a hose , enhances every stage of movement , stop rust , pete
-
3 pointsNice! I just got one too , added to my stable a few days ago. (tractor, tiller, snow blade, no deck) Had to order bunch of parts for the tiller, and it is in nowhere near as good shape, but runs. need a whole bunch of work and re-wiring after years of "beer buddy" cobbling work on it... but nothing too difficult. Will have to get some pics if I remember to and post here..

2 pointsThank you everyone, made my day extra special. If I had to share a birthday on a holiday, I think I would pick Mother’s Day, happy Mothers Day to all the mom’s out there! Had some seat time today, even through the yard is super saturated, hopefully will get some more time in tomorrow!

2 pointsAbout two weeks in advance I will do a Wednesday Dinner opinion poll to see how many people want to go where for the pre-show dinner. I am open to any suggestions including Italian Village and the Hickory Ridge. I have eaten at a few other places in the Chambersburg area that could workout. I will include links to the restaurant menus to help people decide. if you have other suggestions let me know via PM and they will be included. Franchise places like Texas Roadhouse aren't set up for groups like ours that want to hang out and talk after dinner so I won't include them.

2 pointsI've eliminated the light circuit and just used the battery for lights. You definitely need to use LEDs if doing that. The battery charging circuit is low amp output.
-
2 pointsJust another YouTube word salad with inaccurate or useless information. If one were to do the work and present the best of each brand and report accurate information on each, then that would be a good video.

2 pointsHaving spent years building high performance small block Fords with my dad, you're 100% correct and that's been weighing on me since I found the first pieces of plastic. It certainly does look like the stuff has gotten into everything. The only problem is, thats my only machine to mow with. Will have to figure out how to get around that. Thanks very much for the help with this - im not sure I would have ever thought to look at the oil level sensor! Mike

2 pointsSet it to spec and close the gap a tad if it knocks. Personally unless your pulling or satisfying your curiosity, I fail to see the benefit of increasing compression on a garden tractor.

2 pointsAbsolutely can't thank everyone's help and comments enough - got a new handle grip ordered (thanks 953 nut!!) and am going with one of the steering wheel options suggested - amazing how there are so many possibilities this many years later - terrific. Yeah, I've never had a problem with humility - always told folks 'there are no stupid questions', etc, etc and if you're not doing something stupid you're probably not having enough fun Many many thanks again all!!!!
