12 pointsThis is the new Frarny MSATCBS (Mechanical Stability Antilock Traction Control Braking System) that will soon be the required replacement for the one wheel braking system on all Wheel Horse tractors. Patent applied for by Fred Flintstone, designer and Barney Rubble, mechanical engineer. Price installed = $35 Replacement pads = $0.50

8 pointsFound this on CL this morning, the owner said it was his father's & wouldn't part with it. His father passed away 5 years ago so he decided he'd kept it long enough. I haven't fiddled with it yet but the tank is clean, turns over nice & has good compression. I'm betting it's a runner, either way the parts are worth more than what I payed for it. It's a K181S & it's Blue...

7 pointsNo mirror pics for this one because I bought it and just drove it over to my Mother in laws house just a few blocks away. Just poured in a gallon or so of fresh gas and swapped in a fully charged battery. It then started right up even though it was -10 degrees celsius or so out. Ran a little rough at first but by the time I got it to it's temporary home it was running smooth and quiet. Hydro lift and drive both work perfectly. Deck might be seized or frozen, I will deal with that later. Has oversize tires on it, not sure what I am going to do about that. I did not make note of the hours or if the hour meter even works as the volt gauge does not.

7 pointsHi guys. I was perusing the Internet based purveyors of adult shiny toys this morning and came across this little nugget of engineering elegance. It's a rotary tape measure, without a tape. Roll the edge along the thing you want to measure, each rotation is 10cm [an imperial version is also available], Each revolution produces a click that you count in your Organic, analogue computer (brain), multiply the click by ten and add the scale reading to arrive at the length measured (young people may have to get an adult to help out here). Great for uneven or curved surfaces. If you have a few dollars burning a hole in your pocketses then one of these could be a fine gift.

7 pointsI've heard you can get upgraded high performance replacement pads now. Made out of oak.

6 pointsThis is the original carb. It had the adjustable needle valves but unfortunately some previous owner replaced a needle valve with a screw effectively destroying the carb body. Therefor I at least for now am going to install a cheap China carb. Here is the carb, intake, and governor assembly ready to install. Carb bolted to intake. Governor assembly installed onto carb and intake as per manual. Carb, intake and governor assembly installed onto engine block and torqued to 90in/lb. Governor static adjustment performed by ensuring throttle was held wide open and governor shaft rotated counter-clockwise as far as it will go then clamp bolt on governor arm tightened. Vacuum hose installed onto fuel pump (sorry for the blurry pic, I took a few and this is the best one).

6 pointsLooks interesting, but l have 5 or 6 tape measures, big, bright orange or yellow, and I can never find them. I'd misplace that thing in a minute.

5 pointsOr you can use the biblical unit of measure, the CUBIT which is from your finger tips to your elbow. Since God didn't make all of us the same size I don't think the cubit would fit neatly into engineering standards but it did work for Noah when he built the Ark.

5 points@Ed Kennell Youse guys need to move to Richmond, state inspection is $20.00 no emission crap. Gas is about 40 cents a gallon cheaper. Of course, there is a tax on everything except the air we breathe which is probably on the list of things the state boys are thinking about. There is a statewide band on Squonks and year-round open season 24/7

5 pointsI use body parts. thumb width = 1" middle finger = 4" thumb tip to pinky tip = 9" This is my most used measure. Minimum length for white perch and Atlantic croaker in Delaware is 9" wing span = 68" This is normally equal to your height BTW

5 pointsI use a 'bout tool... never need a tool box for it... free use whenever needed... always correct IMHO... as in, "eh... that's 'bout right..."
-
4 pointsExtended the control lever, easer to control. Might have to streghten the shifter pattern like Ed did on his 520-H

4 points@wheelhorseman put some hitch in your giddyup and plow through this frosty day! Enjoy!
-
4 pointsThat's the style that fits D series, because the air nozzle is on the outside of the wheel.

4 pointsI posted the same item on a UK engineering workshop forum. It's a wonder that at 11.35 GMT you guys didn't hear the sudden cry.... "HOW MUCH? ILL MEK WON MESSEN!"

3 pointsA lot of us use Tractor Supply. A good quality belt, great selection at a good price.

3 pointsLess your a freak like me. 6'1" in height, 6'7" wing span. I can lay my shoulders on the top rail of a 6.5 truck box & bend my finger tips over the front & tailgate. I don't like bananas ! My wife is always trying to get me to eat them. Always tell her "No thanks, I've evolved". With the info above in her arsenal her reply is always "OK, knuckle dragger"

3 pointsShim it out and or bend it to suit. Here's my shimmed out to clear my motion control pedal on my 312H.

3 pointsFor those not so precise measurements you can always use the ole’ Eyecrometer. You know, just give it a good look and a guess!🤣

3 pointsSeller threw these in as well. Tractor does not have the rear lift but just some contraption bolted to the rear hitch to adapt to these. However, I do have the proper sleeve hitch and lift on a couple of my machines so I can use them.
-
3 pointsFeeler gauge used to set ignition coil clearance. Ignition coil proper air gap set.
-
3 pointsFlywheel ready to install. Flywheel installed. I kept the taper surfaces dry but put a tiny bit of never seize on the crankshaft threads.
-
2 pointsI built mine. I used a handlebar grip, a piece of handlebar sized tubing, a flat bar bent to clear everything, a bicycle handbrake with the cable, connected to the triangle. I still have all the other pieces in case I want to go back to stock though.

2 points7474 is a single lip seal that will also work. It is more likely to be stocked by distributors than the 7475 double lip.

2 pointsThe engine was originally a magneto/points system. Those wires came from the magneto (Under the Flywheel) and went to the points, also one was probably the kill that went to the ignition switch to shut the engine off. they are not needed now with your battery ignition system.

2 pointsWhen I was building my three point hitch for the 953 Lowell HOSED me! Thanks for all the great parts and advice you provide to keep this hobby going.

2 pointsYou can buy a fuse holder at Tractor Supply or any automotive store. Even Walmart. I would think 14 gauge wire is plenty big enough for the wiring. New battery cables can be purchased wherever you find a fuse holder. You can also find a good wiring schematic for your machine in the manuals section.

2 pointsJust chiming in to follow and say what a great barn. I'd donate my left one to EB for one like that. Keep a good roof on it and it will last forever.
