I have a collection of old local newspapers. Anyone remember newspapers? Here is the paper from the morning after. Information didn't move as quickly then as it does now. The estimated 350 casualties was way off. 2,400 people lost their lives from the attack.

The 61 foot rest were added at some point and are not original to the tractor. Only painted rims & seat. Rest of tractor was wiped down with boiled linseed oil for preservation.

This is the second time I owned this 1056. I rebought it this fall for parts. Have it running pretty well know. So I thought make my plow tractor. The only thing is cannot get it to idle down. I likes to run high even when the engine is hot. You may be asking why the tabs on the hood. The P/O used to push up on steering wheel to open the hood in stead of fixing the set collar on the steering wheel shaft. So I am looking for a whole console. It can be eater two spoke or three. Thanks for looking. I do not know the total length from the gear nub to the top of the steering wheel. Hope you enjoy the picks.

You can just skip the plug and crimp on 1/4 female spades & tie wrap up securely. I prefer full insulated ones for this method. While yer at it secure up that dangly fuel line ... don't want that getting snagged on something ...

My offer to run the trencher for it still stands. $0 They rent the same one at Home Depot and it's only $125 for 4 hours. It will take you longer to pick it up and bring it back to the store than it will to cut that trench. Maybe 10 minutes for that short run

Started digging the trench from house to shed for power. Typical of me…I waited to long and now I’m fighting with a couple inches of frozen ground. Having to pick-axe my way thru the top layer, then shovel it out.

So, I had an oppornumity to do a little Wheel Horse Stuff the past couple days. I took the Snowblade off of 1 of my 2 Blade setups because some "genious", in their Ifinite wisdom Or Actual Lack there of, decided to just keep on keepin' on with the blade. They Kept on Keepin' on to the point of nearly rendering this part useless ... (see pics) Some peeps can't be told nothin' This is an Example of not only Beating a Dead Horse but alo drggaing the parts around... ... Fortunately, We have a household waste disposal site here & they have a "Re-Store" which you can take chemicals for your use & it includes paint & spray paint. Unfortunately, the can of red that i had was nearly empty & Not spraying very well. So I coated the Parts that will see the most abuse & rust. This is a Temporary paint job as Next year I will Blast this down all the wa to the metal & do the POR 15 treatment.... things are rough & tight right now so going with what I have on hand. This Blade has a Good Scraper with it & as soon as I finish painting It will be going back together .

had my dr sign me off yesterday , very happy to see my hip progress, resume driving , late next week ,start therapy soon , really listening to my body , sleep , activity , hydration wise , my regular daily naps are a knock out , initial sense , getting tired , and react to it . dr , vital for body normality , my sleeps are like a knock out ,drinking a lot of water , recently had my first shower , hip scar is clean / clear , scabbing is very minimal . dr emphasised too many people fight recovery with a macho / tough attitude , that also does not help you out mentally or physically . also my home therapy people are spot on , lots of back / forth , on every detail , the exchange is terrific , already have my hospital therapy set up , thru dr office , next week , walking stairs , outside , ATRINITY home care , dr is so satisfied with it , making it a regular part of all of his work . kicking my own butt , pete

The hub does look tight to the trans case anyway. Move the hub out on the axle a little bit so no spacer or grinding is necessary

Find a K91. Is the tractor not worth keeping it somewhat original? You would definitely be raising the hood with K181 and might not have enough room for the shifter to work properly without bending it. When a hood is raised on a Suburban, it also needs to move back towards the driver due to the steering shaft angle. Some minor modification to mount the hood to the hood stand with some brackets is needed as is with the front. The hood sits only about 3/4" above the spark plug on a K91. The little HF predator engines fit in there but I think it looks funny with a modern engine on an old tractor. A Teccy H60 is the same size as a H55 which would also fit in there.

You might be able to slip the wheel hub out 1/4 inch on that side. I’ve done that before with no issues. I had a machine that the hub made contact with the tranny, so I moved it out a bit. In so far as a C121 hydro, I don’t have one with a brake. All of my Sundstrands are hydrogear.

@SylvanLakeWH , @JCM @Ed Kennell , others , champion sleeper , just got up , after a short yard walk , and starting tractors , once you give in to , the pass out zone , you are hooked . best thing ever , also responding to other areas with gel cooling pads , great siting with a firm foam pad and cooling on hip area , dr said it would probably show up , just another recovery stage . been using aveeno skin cream , on legs , the post op preventive care , was iodine intensive , to prevent anything , looks like a hot pizza nite , or shrimp alfredo , pass out , pete

milky tranny oil suggests either condensation inside or a bad shift handle boot and rain water getting in? Suggest you flush the tranny once first before you put in new oil - use kerosene or deisel for flush if its a gear tranny

Your grader blade would mount to the rear axle bracket that a dozer blade (snow plow) would be attached. They are a popular attachment and should bring $ 250 +/- depending on how eager the buyer is. Here is the manual.

Ahhh my bad ...first pic... Those are @dclarke 's creations. Electric turn and deflector actuators. A popular and VERY handy mod. Wished I had it on the deuce. He did a bang up job on them. The turn motor is a car power seat motor or power window operator I forget. The deflector is just a linear actuator. both wired to switches in the cab.

I am using single insulated female spades a lot. easier to check than trying to back probe the multiplugs

The dealers are sent oil filters in "sell packs". Basically its a large box with 12 filters in it, with dividers, and they are not packaged individually within the pack. It is rare to find individally packaged filters in a dealership parts department. The only oil filters my place keeps in the individual packs is three FL-1A oil filters because I buy two a year for my own vehicles and we have a cooler flusher that uses it. That filter is otherwise obsolete. Anything we sell more than 12 in a year we keep in sell packs.

I change the oil in my C160 transmission every year. I do it right after the show. I'm going to cut the filter I take off and compare it to the pictures I took of one cut open years ago. Then at some point I will do the same with this new one.

Your voltage regulator will have two side by side terminals marked AC that will connect to the engine wires and one terminal marked DC that will go up to the ignition switch. If the connector are not good buy some Packard 56 connectors, NAPA or any GOOD auto parts store will stock therm.

Care to elaborate Ed? Careful what you ask for Jim. Denny's 520 rig he had a choice set of steel v links on it when I got it and they had too good of traction on my asphalt. Even a bit of peel and they would chew up frozen blacktop right through a layer of ice. Had to take them off but does a surprising good job with just turfs & weights ... even on my hill. Was going to get some rubbers but never really needed to. Same here, I had new WEED V-Bar 2 link chains on my 520H with a tall chute blower. With the blower slightly raised it would not climb my steep driveway on bare asphalt. I never left it chew thru the top smooth layer to find some traction. More square inches of rubber and weight is what is needed for traction on a bare hard surface. Never see skinny tires or steel chains on one of these. On a surface like packed snow, ice, mud, gravel, and grass, where they can bite , without question the steel V-Bar chains offer the best traction. I have a combination of V-bar and straight bar chains on my 520H with the dual Ber Vac. That I have never had enough snow to use. I would neve consider trying to climb my driveway with this 300lb monster hanging on the front. Now, the rubber chains...you asked for it Jim. The new straps have 4 good square corners that bite pretty well in loose snow. As that leading corner wears away, they lose some bite. Then I flip them over and with that sharp edge out, the bite is much better. The snow tends to pull them away from the tire and act as a cut pulling tire. I flip then and turn them end for end every season to make use of all 4 corners of the rubber straps. Just my No scientific controlled test data to prove any of it.

Nice find!! That decal is the HP. Below it may say the speeds but all the 8s then were 4 speeds. (3 fwd, 1 rev) That's most likely a 1973 "no name" 8.
