Thanks guys . Spent the morning ironing the wrinkles out of my birthday suit , worn the iron out , magic smoke came out it. Iron was only 50 years old , so I am going to take a nap for the rest of the day and dream of my Sheetz deluxe meal.

At my age the jewels haven't sparkled in years.

Happy Birthday Jim! Keep the iron away from the family jewels, they tend to singe!

I checked with all the tabloids in PA. No mention of another Century of Jim Winder was mentioned. I did call the Sheetz corporate office and they are running a "Supper Sandwich Special today in your honor. It's called the Elcamino Supper Shuffle. Your choice of a pre-made sandwich from the week before, choice of your favorite flavor of out dated Dorito's and either a Diet Tab or outdated box of milk. $2.98! Happy birthday ya old coot!

It was our 48th anniversary today so we went hog wild (pun intended...keep reading). There's a place about 10 miles from here on Bass Lake, one of Indianas larger natural lakes. We've been thinking about trying the Woodshed Tap and Grill since we moved here but we're not big on eating out and just never got around to it. Since she knows I could sustain myself on bacon alone Nancy mentioned this sandwich to me. It's called a Pigout BLT. 1/2 pound of applewood smoked bacon. The picture doesn't do it justice. To say it was excellent is an understatement. Nancy had fried cod and said it was delicious. I'm thinking this place will become a regular thing. They have a fried perch dinner that has my attention.

Kevin, please fill us in on your knowledge of singed jewels, I must have missed that "Bumps and Bruises" episode of your experience.

Time to trash that new fangled electric iron & get something that will stand the test of time.

Get a bunch of belts in the range you think you need. Run the one that fits best and take the others back. We get belts from Tractor Supply.

Happy Happy Jimbo May your decks come apart easy today!

Grandpa gave my Son this tractor, its a C-101. It needs a little work to get it running.

Hi all, Me and a friend have recently got hold of this old 211-3 which we found rotting in a neighbours garden. We're looking to restore it to its former glory so I was so pleased to come across this forum. We've managed to get the engine running so far and sourced a new seat from Ebay. The next step for us is to get the cutting deck working. Can anyone help point me in the right direction as to which belts we need? I contacted a company but they said they need a serial number which we are unable to find on the deck. I have attached some pictures, the deck is 36 inches at the widest point. If anyone can help and let me know the best place to buy these parts it would be much appreciated. Hopefully I have posted this in the correct section. Thanks in advance! Dan

Visuals Sylvia? How would you like to be Pullstart's doc when he comes in singed jewels?

Right Sylvia ? ... a visual we could have lived without!

From across the pond? I was thinking he was from Norfolk VA... Goes to show what we have in common with our across the pond brethren. Scratch getting belts from TSC then.

Not bad.... The fronts push a little bit with the chucker down and the weight off the Front Wheels and I have and always had chains on the rear and I have 4 lead wights cast to the rims which is 100 lbs in the rear and 75 lbs on the fronts.

Did a little work today cleaning up the headlight harness for the hood. This is the entire harness with the plastic covers removed from the headlight connectors and connectors partly polished. Headlight plastic connector covers as removed. Wire harness connector before disassembly and cleaning. Plastic covers cleaned up. Wire connectors polished and cleaned. Wire harness reassembled. Harness complete and ready to install.

If you happen to have the old belts, you could take them to a hardware store & match them up with some new ones.

Instead the US government seems to constantly regulate manufacturing out of business. I won't say any more so the Admins here don't have to take down my post.

It looks like I might be getting more stuff to work on. Her 100 year old grandfather gave her three buggy frames, engines, transmissions (mostly swing arm, not IRS), and all the parts to build them. They don’t have the time or knowledge to put the, together or enjoy them, so she would rather give them to me than sell them. If it all works out (I realize I have limited time here), I’d love him to see the old school hoop buggy run and drive again. She recalls memories of him giving her rides on it, and he told her he used to take her grandmother to Silver Lake Sand Dunes with it too! The sand rail buggy has never been finish welded or assembled past what it shows. There’s another sand rail too.

The Jeep is gone back to the owner, and she is over the moon that it’s working for no where near $9,800, the cheapest repair quote in her town she received. And the whole video wrapped up.

The PP and the light From Eastwood can be very handy with the digital readout. Say your tractor won't start. Everybody grabs their test light first. But with the readout you touch across the battery. It says 12.5 volts. Now you touch the battery positive cable at the solenoid. It reads 9.5 volts. You now know you have a bad cable and are losing 3 volts out of it.

Squonk -- ah ha - - love learning this stuff - - now if i can just remember it -- haha -- as you stated is what my mechanic nerd grandson tried to explain to me -- for testing the circuits with a function some ways better than a multimeter -- thanks

It's kind of like a digital test light with the ability to apply power or ground to a circuit. Example. Your headlights don't work. You probe the light and apply power with a push of a button and the light comes on. That tells you the bulb and ground is good. It's a handy tool where you don't have to have a long jumper that's hot from the battery dangling all over as you work with the potential of shorting out. I've also thought about getting one. I did buy a digital test light from Eastwood. When you ground the cable and touch a circuit the light lights up red and a digital readout tells you the voltage found. Unlike a traditional light that will light up with only 6 volts. If you attach the lead to battery positive you can check for grounds and it will light up in green and give you a voltage reading telling you how much voltage you are losing through the ground. On sale for $27.00! https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-digital-circuit-tester.html

Wow thanks for all the messages guys and making me feel welcome. Some really nice pictures you've shared, you guys have set a high standard. Unfortunately I don't have the old belts so we were thinking maybe measuring with a piece of string to get the size right.

i finally have a answer for this. i was at my grand parents xmas eve and my uncle ryan said when reese would push snow sometimes the belt would start slipping when he started to push more and more snow so that bar was a leverage bar and when reese was plowing snow he would push down that bar so that belt couldnt slip when teh snow started to build up and get heavy. i thought that was pretty neat

Good for you! I still have my first... baby horse. I doubt I will ever part with it unless I become fully disabled. Starts right up, runs very smooth, and it fits between my house and the neighbors driveway. Big horse won't quite fit

I stood on the Buy American soap box for 60 years Joe. Most said, "I can't afford to buy American". My reply, "you can't afford not to buy American". It's over. 33 trillion debt. no manufacturing, no borders. We lost this battle.

Took the head off last night. Had some brownish hard carbon chips around the valve head. Had a good amount of carbon built up on the other and the head. Scrapped it all off and gave it a rub with Scott Brite pad. Looking like factory new 🤣. Drained the oil now need to assemble tonight. Thanks for the advise!

The trunk will indeed need some rebuilding. I am thinking along the lines of new fender tubs and a new floor for sure. If it wasn’t mentioned, I really think having the axle in the centerline of the trunk will allow for a 5th wheel hitch. It’ll be a stock 2500HD chassis, so the weight bearing abilities shouldn’t change. That will also mean leaf springs and bobbing the frame to stay as short as possible. This will obviously become a mad max style build, but I want it to feel like driving a modern vehicle, not a pile of road signs holding it together. No offense @SylvanLakeWH As for fuel tank, it will likely utilize the truck tank, or I have a large truck center of frame tank if it is needed or will fit. With that in mind, I’ll probably end up with an entire ‘57 Pontiac frame, drivetrain, etc. available. Depending on it’s condition, I think a whole chassis might sell better than one without a rear end, so I’m going to try to offer it as a whole. The 347/ hydromatic runs and drives well, but had a pretty harsh stumble off idle. I did the ole’ ATF in the fuel tank treatment and for the 100’ or so that I drove it after unloading, it did seem to help. I HAVE QUITE A FEW PROJECTS TO FINISH UP OR MOVE ALONG, BOTH INSIDE MY HOME AND IN THE SHOP. I know that. I don’t have a timeline set out for this yet. I might need some new tools to build this well. I’m thinking a 3D printer and upgrades to the old plasma cutter or a new rig off hand. Hopefully my YouTube channel will begin to help paying for upgrades in the shop, instead of out of pocket. It’s creating real revenue now (nothing I could live off of yet!) after all these years of producing videos, and I’m upgrading my recording equipment too. I have a real tripod, a handful of microphones, a robo-finder for the camera to follow me, etc.

Not to mention our government just will not promote manufacturing growth through regulation. China strong arms business to allow those business access to the Chinese markets and it also provides an area of low to no cost concerning environmental impact. Not just cheap labor. I think the last numbers I seen they produce well into the 60% range of bearings for the world that includes all the major players. I have been there and seen it first hand. When you tell some they just look at you as in disbelief.

Where exactly is this show in Florida Lane? I can't zoom in on the map to tell. I put a bug in an ear about a FL vacation. Shhh she doesn't know it's a tractor show.

A couple days late to the party…however we did take our annual Stertz Tractor Christmas pic. Zach was adamant that Blackbeard needed to be in it… considering we had just started the resto last Christmas Eve (2022), it was fitting! We have a bonus kid in this picture. Our nephew from Tennessee surprised us with a two day visit and we were happy to have him. Merry Christmas Red Square friends from the Stertz gang and a Happy New Year!🎊
