10 pointsFor the past few months my wife has been driving me anywhere I needed to go, there was a conflict the other day and she allowed me to drive myself to a PT session.
-
9 pointsAnother one complete! Painted and added new decals to the deck and snow blower today, so more photos and a longer post to follow in another thread. Glad to have my garage back!

6 points@cschannuth Craig, have a happy birthday, I got you a picture of a genuine Wisconsin Sasquatch driving your old 520!

6 pointsI didn't really need this, but who can pass up a loader tractor ?? It is a C161 with a twin cylinder Briggs. Seems to run good and hydro works well. It has a 20 foot paint job, yeah it's bad, but maybe I can live with it. Or maybe put the loader on my 520 ?? It has a new pump on the loader, but the loader goes up pretty slow. The person I bought it from said it is a 2.5 gpm pump and he thought it was to small ?? Going to need help on that. Oh wo is me.

6 points4 of the 5 tractors all up to date on maintenance, fluids, belts, etc. Hopefully start soon on the rat rod Suburban.... 🤞

5 pointsI picked up a light duty leaf shredder back about 2018 to see if we'd like it. Turns out the leaf shredder part is ok but what we really used was the branch chipper. That one will chip things only up to the size of a broomstick or so. Armed with that knowledge I started watching the local sale sites for a heavier duty machine. A few months later I found our Mackissic chipper shredder. We've used it here for a few years and even brought it down the street to help a neighbor. It's an excellent machine. The side chute accepts a branch up to 3½, 4" and will chip soft or hard wood .. as long as the belt stays tight. One of the things to be addressed is to add a better idler system. Another is to repair the interior metal screen. It's pretty bent up. I'll also be flipping all the hammers to get a fresh clean sharp edge. The main reason I decided to do a repaint now is that the side anvil and blade needs to be removed, sharpened and readjusted on installation. This is the thread I'll be using as the main reference. Thank you @gwest_ca for all your help in that thread. This pic is to show me that the spacer is on the Right side of the frame. Here's a set of "before" pics.

5 pointsIt’s been 16 days since surgery so I’m cleared to ride again! Did my usual 12ish miles of trail today.

5 pointsDecided not to wait till it's snowing to prepare the C105 for winter duty Replaced leaking fuel pump, filter & fuel lines. Repaired aux headlamp wiring. Lastly, added lock nuts to wheel weight retaining bolts to stop them from loosening.
-
5 pointsNot really a side shot... I mean it could be called the rear side.

4 pointsNice condition 1963 753. I bought this from Roy and Betty Stewardson (https://rbwheelhorsestables.yolasite.com/) up in Canada a few years ago. It comes with the HL-5 Headlight kit and seat backrest. I added the 8-speed transmission after the original 3-speed had a crack in the case. I also put in a new fuel pump a couple years ago. I've decided to thin out most of my tractors because I just don't have the time to spend with them. PM me if interested or with any questions. Thanks!

4 pointsPainted the front porch stair rails today… gonna need another coat… After that I took the 84’ Work Horse and the 94’ 520H out for a trot to keep them limber… When I take them out like this I usually run them in reverse for a bit… just to move those gears as well. When I was going backwards on the Work Horse(8 speed) at WOT and high range, I noticed the tranny whining a bit. I know reverse on manuals usually make a little noise, but I am wondering if what seemed to me to be a little loud is normal…

4 pointsNow we know why you escaped from West York in the dark of night. BTW Chuck, I found a home for your single stage blower project yesterday at the Steam-O-Rama. I was tired of banging my shins on that thing.

4 pointsThe heaviest Wheelhorse ever made was the one that won’t start that you have to push by yourself so you can get to something in the back of the shed.

3 pointsFor sale is a 1989 520H , a FULLY restored 48" side discharge deck , and a barely used 48" snow blade Tractor : I have owned this for several years and has been my main tractor the last 2 . Let me begin by saying that the hour meter works and shows 2100 hours on it. Previous owner stated that key was left on multiple times so actual hours are unknown. Unit was in great shape and did not appear to match the hours showing but for peace of mind the heads were pulled, valves done, carb was rebuilt , PTO was rebuilt, new PTO clutch disc, new drive belt, new fuel line and filter, new rear tires ( Carlisle ) , rear hubs converted to studs and lug nuts, all sheet metal has been redone professionally, new decals, new step pads, all fluids and filters changed, LED tailights, new battery. Works as it should, I have put 100 hours on this tractor. Non gear reduction / no forward swept axle! Seat is nice but has 1 small blemish. Snow Plow : 48" blade with very little use, has NOT been repainted! One of the last models produced , it has the cable actuated 5 position sector and the long reach handle. 48" deck : Fully restored using all genuine Toro / Wheel Horse parts. Sandblasted , professionally refinished , bedlined underneath for durability. All new bearings , belts , blades , etc.... Deck has not been used since being redone. Was a very clean and solid example, no patches anywhere. Not shown but included are the rear axle bracket for the plow , and the mule drive for the deck with a brand new genuine Toro belt. I will consider selling pieces individually. Private message me here, or call / text during normal business hours. Price is $2300. 00 . Cash only at time of sale. No 3rd parties , if you're buying it you are picking it up and putting eyes on it. Located in Sunbury, Pa 17801

3 pointsFinally calling this unprofessional restoration complete. Thanks to Lowell at wheelhorsepartsandmore.com for a ton of support, redoyourhorse.com for the labels, jackssmallengines.com for odds and ends, and the wheel horse community here for further support and answering of my questions throughout the process. I'm always amazed at how willing this community is to help one another, and how many people take the time to give support, so cheers everyone

3 pointsNice sound from that engine out of the dual mufflers. Onward and upward!
-
3 pointsIt runs! ( didn't know the history of this engine so I didn't know if it would... ) - wanted to know before proceeding with this project. IMG_1050.mov

3 pointsHow did you know?!?! I figure it should be ready to tunnel in about 3023... the owner of the SL&WHN RR by then will be powering it with dilithium crystals from planet Pondolium, a newly discovered source for Wheel Horse tractor batteries... I was fortunate enough to drive through one as a kid...
-
3 pointsPlanted a Redwood sapling... Yup, one of them BIG boys... Baby from my neighbors yard... Fingers crossed...!

3 pointshad one here a couple months ago run through the auction. I really didn't need it and let it go. was less than $50. I guess I should have snagged it and flipped?
-
3 pointsI figured he is smart enough to short out the kill wire or choke it or pull the spark plug wire or sooner or later it will run out of gas!
-
3 pointsEric, I wish my dad would have known about these choppers when we were still farming. He used to raise some seriously large hogs. Biggest in the state. This would have been perfect for making ham salad out of the leftovers from Thanksgiving dinner………..LOL! Dave

3 pointsI think the forward support being 90 degrees to the upright is a sign that it’s a Johnson. I’ve never seen @953 nut‘s in person… but I imagine his might be bigger being on the GT14? We could always ask @SylvanLakeWH what he thinks about the matter…

3 pointsStill in the "gathering" period right now. I did get the blade you gave me cut down to 58 inches. Not only is it stout, it was hard to cut- even with a 10-inch grinding wheel!
-
3 pointsDon't forget the one with a flat tire when you have no way to pump it up!

3 pointsWe pulled the pontoon out of the lake today. Swapping the pontoon trailer from the truck to Morgan, the 14-8, I whacked Morgan's tail light lens with the trailer toung. Broke it, dang it! Got the pontoon moved to the parking its parking spot, then proceeded to pull the dock out of the lake, using Morgan to haul the dock sections up hill to their winter storage spot behind the sheds. While I am wrestling the dock sections out of the lake and onto the utility cart, I am remembering the recent thread here titled, Work Smarter Not Harder. Think I'll invent a new implement for my Wheel Horses - a dock section removal trailer. Something I can back up to the edge of the lake, with a winch to hook onto the dock sections to pull them out of the lake, and some sort of lift mechanism to make it easier to move the dock section off of the trailer onto the storage stack. A rig like that will make it easier to put the dock into the lake, too.

3 pointsAfter countless hrs of designing and engineering .I finally came up with a suitable beverage holder thingy.
-
2 pointsJust to be clear, I built this, enjoyed it for 4-5 years, then sold it about 3 years ago. The new owner now has it for sale for $750 OBO. I don't think he is a member on RS
-
2 points@Ed Kennell I kinda have to agree about repurposing the blade frame. Here is a better picture maybe

2 pointsUpdate "It's Alive!!!' Hooked up a small gas bottle - it's tank is split and in 5 min's it was running ! Running great I may add.. List of know parts that I will need, so far: Air cleaner assembly and filter - orders for about $20 New tank Min a cover for the points.. probably try to find the whole thing. Front rubber Seat so I paid $60 for the tractor + what I have, so far, above. Didn't grab this for anything but to save, be the first tractor that I restored and maybe bring to next years show to ride around.. let the 520 and the Troybilt GTX do the work this is just a toy to learn with...

2 pointsThe screws mounting the anvil may be countersunk secured with Allen head screws. The hex holes may be filled with pitch and dirt that needs to be removed. I ended up tipping the machine so the heads were level so acetone would stay in the holes. Want to save the screws because they are likely Grade 8. Took days to do it.

2 pointsOnly time I eat out is at the BS , and some turkey wanted to go to the BBQ that closed the previous year. Based on getting lost twice and it closing , I ain't going to dinner with youse no more. It are bad luck. When are you coming to check out the dang wires on the 310-8 ?
-
2 pointsNICE find !!!! Flow rate can typically be increased with speed. A pulley size change to speed it up. Depending on the pump and the set up on there now, it could be just that simple. Find the name and model of the pump and search the innerweb for the specs. Look for the output rates at different rpms. Determine if you can raise the rpm on the pump to stay within specs of the pump.
-
2 pointsPretty standard air gap - .010 to .012 is where I set them. Some can be as close as .008 , others can be as far as .014 , but if in doubt, I usually shoot for 10 thou.

2 points34 years and runs like the day the dealer dropped it off in my driveway. Has been the best money ever spent on anything I own. It has a very pampered life now. Saving it for someone who appreciates a made in the USA tractor. Applying it's first coat of wax in June of 89, a winter picture in 09 and a current picture.
