These two got their spring baths…

Spent the day weaving willow branches into a natural fence between us and the neighbours. Never done something like this before but I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. Picking up the willow branches. dumped at home. Started weaving them Almost there All cleaned up

My 2 " Wheel - A - Matics " 875 1075

Blew off the honey do list and some other stuff to spend a good part of the day working on this. Added some bracing all around the inside of the tower to beef it up some and connected the tower to the other steering tower. Working some on a tank mount and a location Worked a little on a dash Made / modified a chain guard and a rear fender out of a seat pan. Looked better in my head so not sure yet if these will stay, get modified or get something else. IDK. The fender looks to boxie looking but it does look WH tractorie. Here's the fender reversed

Had another one follow me home today. Overall in nice shape needs some tlc but should be a good runner with 640hrs on it!

Right now I ride a Suzuki M109R, and Yamaha FJR1300, and after I clean and sync the carbs, a first gen Yamaha VMax. My wife has a Suzuki Burgman 400a. I *think* my "favorite" is the FJR1300, but the M109 is nice for cruising. Here's the M109:

Greetings from PA. I'm Pete. I just bought a 1973 16 HP with an ARK500 front end loader, 48" deck, and scraper. It needs some TLC, but I'm excited to get going with it. It needs a battery, choke cable, bearings in one blade tower, and an exhaust leak (2, actually) fixed. It's pretty greasy, so I'm going to start by degreasing the engine, and then power wash (away from all seals, gaskets, and electrical components.) I presume this uses points; it's been many years since I've dealt with them, and matchbooks are hard to come by these days. I don't have a dwell meter any longer, but perhaps I can used a DVOM instead. Research time. I attached a photo of the little tractor to this post. I found the forum searching for information on a 1973 wheel horse. It was a lucky guess for the year before going to see it and talking to the owner. He said it was 50 years old, so I took him at his word and found the owners and parts manuals and a wiring diagram. No model# or model name on it anywhere. I'll probably be posting at some point, picking your brains for information and suggestions as I start to go through it. Thanks for the forum!

Yep the stuff I listed above comes in big rolls, enough to do 30 tractors and if it were mine I would offer to send you some. Maybe if @Achto ain't lookin. Sheath has a inner core of nylon and slicker than cat crap on linoleum. Best operating choke or throttle I have seen.

Off with the snowblower (that wasn't used at all this year due to such a mild winter), on with the mower deck! Already mowed the front yard. I put the reduction steering on in the fall and never really got to use it with the snowblower, but already enjoying it with the 60" mower deck! IMG_2717.mp4

I haven't ridden since 2014 when I had knee and ticker issues. but my ride was an 83 Honda Goldwing 1100 Aspencade. We used to go down to Pa and hit the Wellsboro diner for a piece of pie and coffee then cruise Rt. 6 and Stop at Larry's Harley Davidson. The sales people would come running out and want to know who had the GW so they could try to sell him a bike. I used to laugh at them until they ran back into there cubbie holes! I don't have any pics anymore but it was identical to this one.

Really... sprucing up a drive and base for a she shed. Told the dump driver to do a running dump. He didn't... no biggie with the right tractors & implements. He actually gave me more seat time. Invited @Achto over to play in my sand box with his blades ... he's gotta work...

Once you get it in the air check for play in the bearings. Bad bearings are often the cause for bad seals. Inspect & clean the hub & axle keyways. Inspect & consider new woodruffs. Tape over the keyway when installing to prevent nicks in the seals. Consider new set screws but more important check tightness after a couple hrs of operation.

I'm unsure what the trailing Y means for NGK, but I think I can avoid the 4 heat range and go with a 6, or the top one (3212). At the end of the day, I'd bet they will all work, and I can read the plug to ensure it's running properly. @WHX?? - I turned wrench (automotive) for a number of years, and I do my own motorcycle work. I also flip old mowers as a hobby. It's amazing how many good mowers, blowers, trimmers, edgers (etc) are left at the curb that just need the carb cleaned, blade sharpened, and an oil change, or MAYBE a sheared key. I have about half a dozen mowers in the garage right now that I've got to work on as soon as I get a workbench setup. The only thing I'll shy away from is a major manual trans overhaul, like on a bike. All of the gears, spacers, shift forks, etc intimidate me. Saved some cast foot rests from an RJ frame! Good threads on bottom and ready for final paint! I did not think I was going to be able to save them but got lucky!

I got the GT-14 trans-axle disassembled. Looks like I need some parts The axle that's bad is 1 1/8 by 15". I also need a bearing in the case and I can't find the keys from the short shaft between the two gears one of which is the parking brake gear(short shaft in picture 6). The parking brake is worn down but I had the same thing happen on my 876 and had it welded up. Now the 876 parking brake is working great Do I need anything else? Maybe I should replace the one side of the diff (picture 4) that the diff bolts goes through because it's scuffed up where it contacts the axle

As @WHX?? said - inspect the axle bearings for up and down and front to rear play - there should be almost none. In & out there will be some play - that is OK. IF the bearings are bad, time to open it up and dig deeper. Replacing seals on a trans with worn out bearings is a true waste of time & money - the seals are the victims, the bearings are the cause. Raise the front of the tractor at least a foot when draining the trans to allow the fluid to go over the hump inside the casting. If the oil is milky, there is water mixed in with it - may be time to flush it twice with Diesel fuel and install a new shifter boot too before refilling it..... Bill

@metaljames80 have any grass trimmer line ? or heavy fishing line ? using that as cable is much easier to watch function / results . also @gwest_ca referral suggestion will get you on point . found using a softer / easier cord in trials , will show you the way . also good tine to SUPER LUBE chute base area , for easy slide action .lots of tricks for better operation once you are squared away , pete

Kev your chickens are doing pretty good on the 4 to 10 a day we have 4 roosters and 17 hens at the moment my wife put some seasoning in the feed to help with laying I can get them from her in the morning sense she is passed out at the moment I know one is red pepper flakes we are getting 9 to 12 a day with 3 packs ready to go right now but with Easter coming I have a feeling we will be out between dying eggs and having Easter breakfast with the wife’s family. Also have 50 meat chicks about 3 weeks in already first batch of 3 or 4 this year

That can be rather slim pickins some days! Helping people to keep their Wheel Horses in tip top condition is what we are all about. This service manual for your engine has good information about setting your ignition timing. The owner's manual wil cone in handy too.

That's a real nice find and loaders are typically a hot commodity. Once you start digging into it ask away with the questions. That's why we are all here.

That era was under new ownership (AMC I believe) and all model names went away. They are now considered “no names” but had all the strong features of the models before them. So, in essence, the 16 Auto was just like a C-160 Auto, which many consider one of the best Horses built! It was simple, strong, and simple and strong! No frills, no fancy electronics, just brute strength.

The Norway Spruce seedlings, for the most part, are doing quite well!

Hitched the roller to the B-80 this morning and rolled the verge by the pond. Little tractor did quite well seeing as how the ground is rather soft. I then fitted the mower deck to the C-125 prior to mowing the green. It was rather reluctant to start. Battery low so put on charge. After lunch helped S.W.M.B.O. with a bit of gardening. Dug out a bush stump for her and brought her a couple of barrow loads of soil for a corner feature she working on. Strimmer and self propelled walk behind mower were then brought out of storage to cut the grass in the garden. C-125 battery was charged up by then, so out to mow the green. Due to this being the first mow of the year, the grass was rather long. 7-8 inch long and wet. Took about 1-1/2 hrs in low 2nd. Still got the lane verges to do and a neighbours frontage but that will have to wait. Farm tomorrow for a rest.
